A Short Story: Why Transact in Marketplace?
For anyone who is undecided a) if building a transactable offer is worth the effort or b) if leading with Marketplace is superior to legacy procurement processes: Last night while I slept, we closed an enterprise deal in Australia. Yesterday, I created a custom private offer for the customer and sent them the acceptance link with a link to the Microsoft Learn page with instructions on how they accept the offer. Woke up this morning to a Partner Center-generated message confirming the deal was won and done. Yes, we had given them a demo; and yes, we had to get stakeholder commitment . . . but: Zero haggling on price. Zero contract redlines. Zero delays with traditional vendor onboarding etc. Even better, we leveraged our Marketplace Rewards (bar none my favorite GTM program!) to amplify customer value by providing Azure Sponsorship credits to offset the deployment cost. Even more better, this deal hits three of the levers in the FY24 Transact & Grow Incentive Campaign - meaning sometime in the next ~60 days Microsoft is going to send us $40k in free money. 🙂 I share this story not to boast but to inspire and motivate. Nothing's special about us or what we did here - you can 100% replicate this experience simply by taking advantage of the resources Microsoft wants to give you. #MarketplaceChampions #Sponsored1.6KViews20likes3CommentsMarketplace Rewards' Azure sponsorship benefit for increasing marketplace sales
As partner ISVs grow through the Microsoft commercial marketplace, through Marketplace Rewards they can unlock new benefits designed to help convert customers and close deals. The benefits at each stage of growth help progress to the next stage, helping to grow business to Microsoft customers, with Microsoft's field, and through Microsoft's channel. Watch this short video to learn more about the Azure Sponsorship benefit available through Marketplace Rewards, including how it provides a way for potential customers to try solutions at no initial expense, using free Azure for proof of concepts or test drives. I participated in the February 2024 Training Services Partner Community Call (TSPCC) about an hour ago, where numerous Copilot courses and Applied Skills Assessments were announced. However, a critical concern remains unaddressed: the accessibility of Copilot for Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCTs) to effectively teach these courses and conduct assessments. The current guidance of "Bring your own subscription" (which was provided to me as a response in the TSPCC Q & A today) for training organizations is impractical and does not align with the needs of MCTs and training service providers (TSPs). The lack of a feasible solution for accessing Copilot presents a significant barrier to entry, particularly for individual trainers and small to medium-sized TSPs. The financial burden of procuring a Copilot license, with its substantial upfront cost and lack of a monthly payment option, is a deterrent to many, including myself and many TSPs in my region. This situation creates an uneven playing field, favoring larger enterprise TSPs capable of acquiring multiple licenses, thereby monopolizing the market and client base. It is imperative to recognize that the demand for instructor-led training in Copilot is high, with students seeking guidance and consultation in navigating this revolutionary tool. The self-learning route is not a viable alternative for all learners. I urge Microsoft WWL to expedite the development of a solution that provides MCTs with complimentary access to Copilot, enabling us to deliver the high-quality training that is in demand. The current model is not sustainable and risks alienating a significant portion of the training community. It is crucial for Microsoft WWL to address this issue promptly to ensure the successful rollout of Copilot courses and to maintain the integrity and inclusivity of the MCT program. No CSP Spotlight and Licensing Update sessions in FY24
I have heard that these very valuable monthly sessions ran by the Licensing School are not to feature during Microsoft's FY24. In my experience these sessions are always very well attended, and extremely helpful in highlighting the regular licensing changes and challenges. I would like to ask that Microsoft reverse their decision not to host these sessions please!Partner verification is totally broken & not fit for purpose.
The entire system is an utter shambles. Just look at the number of posts form partners worldwide who have been partners for years yet now can no longer get verified. I too have been a partner for over 20 years and I've been trying since October last year to get these issues fixed. Wasn't an issue until I signed up to the CSP program. I truly wish I hadn't bothered. I have been round and round and round. I have submitted every document under the sun. Articles of Incorporation, Certificate of Incorporation, Letter on headed paper, DUNS certificate, Bank Statements. I just constantly get back that "the documents do not match the information you entered for your account" I raise support tickets, I email, they don't read them properly, they just send a standard response back. You reply to the response email and then get an email back saying "Deleted Not Read" so they are clearly ignoring anyone's responses to their meaningless emails. The portal doesn't work properly, it displays conflicting information. The Fix Now buttons don't work. I get an email stating my CSP is verified but my MPN ID isn't. Then I check on the portal and it says both are unverified. So how can they send an email saying its verified and then the portal says it isn't? I email and ask, they respond with "the documents do not match the information you entered for your account" I ask them on email please be clear about what they want changing, they respond with "the documents do not match the information you entered for your account" They are like particularly dim robots. They haven't a clue, and they don't care. This is what happens when you outsource. Microsoft are happy to take your money but it seems they no longer want to have their small business partners. Why don't they just own up and say rather than getting rid of us all by wearing us down by this method? If they cared they would engage properly and have someone from the Team involved in this forum rather than poor Jill who is not part of the verification team and has to field all these postings. I am utterly tired of the whole thing and seriously just considering ditching the entire partner program. Who needs the constant stress and mental anguish!SolvedLinkedIn Marketing: Critical Hashtags for Partners
When you are posting on LinkedIn, there are a number of Microsoft hashtags you should be using at the bottom of your posts to help increase your visibility. This question has come up in different discussions with partners about how to get their messages seen by more of their audience organically. Thanks to the article fromTricycle-Europewho did the work for me on this. Top hashtags for Microsoft partners: #MicrosoftPartner #Microsoft365 #Azure #DigitalTransformation #CloudComputing #Cybersecurity #MSPartner #MicrosoftTeams #PowerBI #AI And, in general, the top 100 hashtags for LinkedIn can be found at this article by Taavi Lindmaa is absolutelyworth checking out! Edited to include the answer to Raj's add below: Raj:In order to find followers for each Hashtags, one can just enter the hashtag in LinkedIn search and go to that page to see the followers' count. JL:It's not as intuitive as you might think, but here are 3 ways to get to that info (with some assistance from Bing AI-Powered Co-pilot): Type a hashtag into LinkedIn’s search bar, then find it in any of the posts that come up and open it. You’ll see the hashtag’s follower count at the top, and current trending posts using that hashtag 1 . There are also some apps that can get to this info a little faster, such as a free app called LinkedIn Hashtag Analytics. This app helps get more insights into hashtags on LinkedIn, and helps you discover related hashtags and potential reach scores. You can also manually search for a hashtag on LinkedIn by pasting this URL string into your browser and add the keyword at the end. The below example is searching for the hashtag Social Media: https://www.linkedin.com/search/results/all/?keywords=%23socialmedia. Replace “socialmedia” at the end with the hashtag you want. You’ll see how many posts have used that hashtag in the past year. 😊 Here's some related source info for more: 1. bing.com 2. blog.hootsuite.com 3. linkedin.com 4. vistasocial.com 5. blog.hootsuite.com 6. inlytics.io 7. engage-ai.co 8. brandmentions.com -J.L. Octalita Stankovic Partner Channel Marketing Manager Microsoft IrelandSetting up Selling Partner: ISV: Challenges and Tips
Whilehelping a channel partner to set up as a seller in Microsoft Partner’s ecosystem for Multi Private Party Offer, I came across some practical challenges which I am sharing here along with tips those may help: Help the partner select the right Partner Type – Partner, SI, MSP etc. for enrolling in the AI Cloud Partner Program. For a new partner to successfully enroll in Microsoft AI Cloud Partner program, it is mandatory to set up the authentication method using Authenticator tab. The enrollment didn’t succeed until the partner followed all the exact instructions provided on the browser on the Mobile Phone, including scanning the QR Code step. Without this step, the enrollment kept on failing although Authenticator recognized the user as a valid account on the Mobile Phone After enrolling in Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program and Microsoft Commercial Marketplace program, it is necessary to complete Microsoft Validation of the partner. Microsoft sends emails to verify you as the right partner by sending email ID from Microsoft Vetting Services Email ID. You may receive multiple emails for Verification, ensure that complete verification by following steps from all those emails. Only after the verification was complete by following 3 emails that the partner received, Tax Profile and Payout Profile Assignment was enabled for us to complete on the Accounts Settings. The external Tax Completion Form did not display correctly on Chrome. After spending 5 attempts, we could successfully submit the Tax Profile form on Microsoft Edge. The partner set up the Payment profile after the Tax Profile was completed. It was necessary to select $ as a currency to associate Payment Profile to the Tax profile to complete this step. Note that Multi party Offer is currently available only to partners in the USA. The last step for my partner to gain visibility on the commercial marketplace as a Partner Directory was Creating a Marketing Profile Hope these practical steps help , would love to know your experience about setting up Multi-Party private offers.Badge redemption is received poorly by our students
Hello everyone, I would like to address a matter concerning the new partner program requirements set by Microsoft. While I understand the need for new KPI metrics, we have encountered a significant challenge in getting our students to redeem their badges. There are multiple reasons contributing to this issue, but one stands out the most: once the badge is activated, everything related to the course in MS Learn is marked as completed. As a result, students lose track of their progress within MS Learn, leading many of them to refrain from redeeming their badges. Despite our efforts to prompt students to redeem their badges towards the end of the course, a significant number of them still choose not to do so. Furthermore, we have observed that many students do not perceive the added value of these badges. They enroll in courses with the intention of acquiring new knowledge and skills, placing little importance on the badges themselves. Consequently, these students are less likely to redeem their badges, regardless of how frequently we remind them or emphasize the importance of these metrics. This situation directly impacts our standing as a Microsoft Learning Partner. It can be frustrating as a Learning Partner to be held accountable for an aspect that is largely beyond our control and influence. While we can and do ask students to claim their badges multiple times, we cannot force them to do so. Another source of frustration is the lack of visibility regarding the response rates for badge redemption. There is currently no dashboard available to Learning Partners to track this information. This creates uncertainty and makes it challenging for us to effectively manage this aspect, despite its significant impact on our performance as a Learning Partner. Essentially, for a Learning Partner, it feels like operating in a black box. Please note that I am aware that a dashboard for badge redemption is planned to be available after the summer. However, it is important to highlight that even during this interim period without visibility, we are already being held accountable for these KPI metrics. Although I remain optimistic about the new partner program and understand Microsoft's motivations, I believe there is a need for greater transparency. When Learning Partners are measured on specific KPI metrics, it would be beneficial to provide them with insights into those same metrics. For our other initiatives, such as MTM, we perform daily data extractions and visualize the results through Power BI dashboards. However, when it comes to badge redemption, we lack such tools. Please understand that my intention is not to be disrespectful. I simply wanted to share my thoughts on this matter. Thank you for your attention. Kind regards, Marnix WolfMarketplace Community - Upcoming AI Events

Hello everyone, As a PM who recently published a Teams app, I wanted to share my experience completing the Microsoft 365 Publisher Attestation and Microsoft 365 App Certification programs. These programs are designed to help developers publish trustworthy apps that customers can confidently adopt. Completing the Publisher Attestation is a voluntary program where you complete a self-assessment of your app’s security, data handling, and compliance practices. The information you provide will be presented to your customers so they can better evaluate your app before enabling it for their organization. This program helps build trust with your clients and increase sales by making it easier for them to assess and adopt your app. The Microsoft 365 Certification is a more rigorous program that includes a third-party audit of your app’s security and compliance practices. This certification provides additional benefits such as increased visibility in the marketplace and eligibility for co-selling opportunities with Microsoft. By completing these programs, you can demonstrate to your clients that your app meets Microsoft’s high standards for security and compliance. This can help build trust with your clients and increase sales by making it easier for them to evaluate and adopt your app. In conclusion, These programs help developers publish trustworthy apps that customers can confidently adopt. By completing these programs, you can demonstrate to your clients that your app meets Microsoft’s high standards for security and compliance. This can help build trust with your clients and increase sales by making it easier for them to evaluate and adopt your app. I hope this helps! The "Get it now" button on your listing can be frightening. Your Call-to-Action can alleviate their concern. The very actionable button across the Marketplace for transactable offers is "Get it Now." This is very powerful, clear and actionable. But it can also be frightening! We have all been trained to not trust a download button, and to generally not click on anything. And with good reason. Malware, spam, ransom, subscription billing, or that visit from IT to clean up your computer... not to mention the follow up memo to the entire company reminding everyone of the warnings. (I once had to make a 4:00am trip to the tech desk for an emergency wipe.) It happens! There are very real questions and concerns from users about clicking on that button, much from prior bad experiences. Will I download an entire new process onto the server? Will I lock up my computer for hours doing a setup? Will I cause a charge to me or my company? Will I be on the hook for this, or even fired? Even though the Microsoft Marketplace is a safe space, you can help remove potential obstacles and concerns. Include a specific Call-to-Action that tells your prospect what will happen when they click. If your listing is done well and you have led your reader's eye down the page with the content and formatting of your text, a strong CTA will anchor the text, indicate the next steps and encourage the action. This should help alleviate the concern about what might happen when they click, plus it should help to improve your click-through rate. Here are some suggestions: "Click on the Get it now button above to choose the best plan!" "Click 'Get it now' to set up your free trial!" "See a demo when you click 'Get it now' above!" "Click 'Get it now' to learn more!" And here are some examples: Abnormal Security says: Click the “Get It Now” button on the upper left to connect with one of our Email Security Experts. BitFractal says:FREE TRIAL (no credit cards required) directly within the app. Get it now and start using within a click. Intervy says:Click the Get It Now button above and give your team the gift of continuous learning, professional upskilling, and enhanced camaraderie with Intervy. AnnounceBot (in the Teams Store) says:Click Add to a team above to learn more and get your free trial! (No credit card required) Advanced tip: Be sure that you have connected your CRM system to your listing so that you can follow up immediately after the prospect clicks on Get-it-now. Welcome to the Partners for Social Impact Community! Growth opportunities abound in the Nonprofit Sector.Microsoft is investing in this sector and here is why you should too.Microsoft is committed to doubling the number of nonprofits we reach over the next five years (to 600K by 2027), but we need partners to help us hit that goal. In 2017 Microsoft invested in the Nonprofit Sector through the creation of the Microsoft Technology for Social Impact organization to scale our reach and impact in the nonprofit sector. Why is Microsoft engaged in this work? We recognized two things. First, nonprofit is one of the largest industries in the world and represents a massive opportunity to drive meaningful digital transformation that impacts not just these organizations, but the downstream beneficiaries they serve, whether that be a child, a rescue animal, or a rainforest. Second, nonprofits need the same technology solutions and services of a commercial industry and rely on Microsoft and its partner ecosystem to support them in their technology adoption. We've been stuck at the "Employment Verification" stage in Microsoft Partner Center for what feels like forever. Despite countless attempts, multiple support tickets, and submitting every possible document, we're still not verified. We've meticulously rechecked every entry—domains, names, contacts, phone numbers—tried different combinations, and still, nothing. Even setting up our account was a struggle. It took multiple days. Using a desktop was not possible at all, we had to use a mobile phone. We encountered countless bugs, had to delete, unlink, and recreate our Partner Center account multiple times. We've been paying customers for years and have generally had great experiences with other Microsoft Support channels. Often, our support tickets were resolved within minutes! But now, with Microsoft Partner Center, it feels like an entirely different game. Even the Admin Center support team mentioned that the process is "more complicated." We've been waiting for weeks, only to receive generic, unhelpful responses to issues that shouldn't even be problematic—they should be handled automatically. Why this process is so difficult? We have scheduled appointments and no one from Microsoft shows up. Other times we get calls from MS agents just to help us open another ticket. We have already received two emails claiming that our account is verified, only to find out that it is not. At some point it just gets ridiculous. I see that we are not the only ones. We've read all the sad stories from others in the same situation. Does anyone have any more tips left that might help us finally get verified? We are on the verge of simply giving up.
