Missing DragnDrop of attachments from new Outlook to browsers (SharePoint) – Please bring it back!
The new Outlook no longer supports direct drag & drop of email attachments into browser-based apps like SharePoint or OneDrive. In the classic Outlook, this worked seamlessly, but now we have to go through the desktop as a workaround – an unnecessary extra step that significantly slows down our workflow. Please restore this essential feature! Many businesses and power users rely on drag & drop for efficient work, and this limitation is a major downgrade.4.9KViews47likes12CommentsAnyone else hate the New Desktop Outlook?.
Hello people I was wondering if anyone else Hated the Desktop version of Outlook?. To me its slower and unresponsive compared to previous versions. Even Windows Mail was faster and the brings up old email accounts that you deleted and no longer use long ago. It seems while good intentions this one has not been tested properly. Just shoved out the door. And lastly trying to find Emails that your sent or received is another nightmare. You have to restart twice before it finally decides oh look there emails.3.5KViews32likes50CommentsMobile app Sub folder notifications
We have pushed all our users to use Outlook mobile apps on iOS and Android, however many are complaining that they have created rules on the Outlook desktop client to put emails in certain sub folders (i.e. all emails from my manager go into a sub folder) and not getting notifications. As the email is moved to the folder before it gets to the client, the mobile apps do not display a notification. As a work around I've had to set up some Flows so that if email received from a certain email address, it displays a notification. The user can then open Outlook and go to the relevant folder. Its not pretty. This seems like a basic feature, its available in the iOS and Android stock mail apps which most used before we pushed them to Outlook. Any plans on the mobile apps to have notifications for sub folders?259KViews25likes107Commentsauto move the selected mail in outlook inbox to a self made folder in outlook after sending E-Mail

I run an email signature generator tool that helps people create email signatures. Our signatures have been working for Outlook Web for a very long time now. We have not changed anything about the formatting of email signatures recently. Within the past 2 weeks some of our customers have been complaining that when pasting their email signature into Outlook for Web (as well as New Outlook for Windows) that the images within their email signatures get too large. We store images at 2x size so that they look good on mobile and high DPI devices. This has worked for a very long time. The images then have a height and a width attribute (as well as styles) to tell them to render at the appropriate size. Unfortunately I am not able to duplicate this issue myself using Outlook for Web and New Outlook for Windows. I have sat on 3 Zoom calls now with customers where they demonstrate the issue, and then I take the exact same signature and paste it on my side without issue. Signature Logo Sent From Their Outlook Web Email: <a href="https://company.com" target="_blank" style="display: block; height: 26px;"><img alt="Company logo" src="https://company.img.email/images/company.png"></a> Signature Logo Sent From My Outlook Web Email: <a href="https://company.com" target="_blank" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; height: 26px;"><img alt="Company logo" width="350" height="26" style="width: 350px; height: 26px; margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; display: block;” src="https://company.img.email/images/company.png"></a> As you can see the width, height, and styles have been removed from the image tag on their "version" of Outlook for Web, but not on mine. I have had multiple people report this issue through the help menu within Outlook. This affects their jobs as well as our platform. I have tried other email signature generators and it is affecting them as well. Please fix it as soon as possible!11KViews16likes48CommentsOutlook web Inbox button and others not working
As from today, the INBOX button or any other don't work; clicking on it won't take me back to the inbox view. It only happens when I open an email or conversation of that particular folder and then want to return to the Inbox or that folder's view. I have to click on another button, like DRAFTS, and then INBOX again to make it work. It happens in both Chrome and Firefox, both with latest updates. EDIT: As for 10 March the problem seems to be fixed.21KViews16likes66CommentsMissing feature of copying meetings in Outlook (new)'s calendar
There is no way to copy an event. In the former Outlook version we are able to use ctrl+c/ctrl+v or ctrl+drag&drop to create a copy of the event, which I miss very much. Today, I can only recreate a meeting from scratch only, or have to use the former version of Outlook for this. When will this be available in the new version?4.4KViews15likes4CommentsOutlook Search loses focus
Using O365 current version When clicking in the Search Box in the Title bar, cursor often loses focus and does not remain in the search bar and query is lost. Work around/Solution ( after considerable angry words ) is to click in the search box and wait to verify it remains in the box before typing the search. This is far from ideal as it slows the process down, opens things or deletes items that I do not want opened or deleted HELP!6.2KViews14likes19CommentsNew OUTLOOK - RESEND OF EMAIL - OPTION NOT POSSIBLE
In the NEW OUTLOOK – resend of already sent email is not possible why? In Older version of Out Look resend of already sent email was possible, and also when the resend is clicked the send email opens up – so that any changes in email already sent, is needed can be made or altered – this is an excellent option. Hence I request you to re-introduce RESEND Option ( one the resend is clicked the already sent message should not go automictically, manual sending option to be given – so that any changes need to make in the already sent email is corrected , and then manually I can send the email . About a week ago, I noticed that all URLs were suddenly extremely long/obscure, and beginning with something like: https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url= It destroys the URL visibility experience. I quickly realized that this was an Office 365 (E5) feature called https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/exchange-online-advanced-threat-protection-service-description.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396, but I'm not talking about Office 365 here but rather the consumer Outlook.com site. I need to find out if we're going to be able to disable this, and when. It's unbelievable that MS just foisted it on us, since it's not even in the vast majority of Office 365 plans! I realize that some people have been seeing it longer than one week.149KViews14likes74CommentsOutlook Add-In called FindTime
(First of all, I searched and searched using various terms and could not find any place this is being discussed. Nor could I find a forum or thread on Outlook Addins. If there is a Community Manager reading this and you know of a better place, please move it.) I just want to compliment Microsoft on an add-in called FindTime. Why? I have been depending on electronic calendars for years now. I "live and die" by my calendar. (I was a Day Timer user for years before PDA's became useful.) In my work I have a number of clients, many of whom do not use Exchange in any form, that I have to schedule meetings with. And some of these involve meetings of boards and committees. Being a 1-man operation I don't have the luxury of having an administrative assistant to arrange meetings with multiple individuals. Using FindTime is like having my own Administrative Assistant calling and emailing back and forth trying to arrange a convenient time for multiple folks to meet, either online or in-person. If you are constantly trying to coordinate meetings, internal and/or external, you really need to look at FindTime!3.7KViews13likes7CommentsOutlook for Mac - Version 16.99 (25071321) - No Address Book
Latest version of Outlook for Mac released, and I don't seem to be able to see my address book. What was strange was I couldn't see any type ahead style emails, you know when it pre-populates based on conversations you've had with others in the past. When I click the address book, nothing shows. I reverted to legacy and can see the address book entries in there no issues and the type ahead works? Version is: Microsoft® Outlook for Mac Version 16.99 (25071321) Licence: Microsoft 365 Subscription, Copilot for Microsoft 365 This has only just happened with the latest update. Anyone else seeing the same?2.2KViews13likes26CommentsNew Outlook not showing link urls
Old outlook would show you the url if you hover over a link - New Outlook does not show anything when you hover over but still it will work as a hyperlink. Is there a setting that changes this so you can see where you are going before you click a link ?15KViews13likes13CommentsChanging the name of the default Calendar in Outlook?
Whether I'm in Outlook for MacOS (v 16.72.2) or on Office 365, I can change the name of ALMOST any calendar - easy to do, very intuitive. (Steps listed below, just in case you're wondering.*) However, this does not work for my default calendar. It is simply "Calendar" and it cannot be renamed either within the Outlook for Mac app or in the Office 365 browser interface. Is there a way to do this? (And if not, what is the rationale for this? And is anyone listening regarding a suggestion to change this?) * Steps to rename Outlook calendars OTHER than the default: Outlook for MacOS: Either control-click on the calendar name and select Properties, then edit the calendar name in the pop-up Calendar Properties box. Office 365 (browser interface): Click the kebab menu to the right of the calendar name, select "Rename" and then edit the name of the calendar.45KViews13likes14CommentsCan't collapse all groups in new Outlook?
Hi, I just downloaded the new Outlook app to try and I don't see a way to collapse all groups nor could I find anything in the help menu. Is this not possible with the new version? I have a lot of email in my accounts so this is concerning and I'm hoping that I'm just missing something. Since this will likely be a mandatory upgrade I would like to know. Thanks in advance.33KViews12likes41CommentsNew Outlook - Keep replies in folder
This was always an option, and maybe I don't know where to find it. The option was: "When reply to a message that is not in the Inbox, save the reply in the same folder" I can't seem to find that option in the New Outlook. It puts the reply in the "Sent" folder and I have to manually move it to the correct folder.Solved12KViews11likes15CommentsUpdate on Focused Inbox rollout for Outlook 2016 for Windows users
Edited: Nov 10, 2017 with updated information. Focused Inbox is coming to an Outlook near you! Here is an update on our status for Outlook 2016 for Windows. If you want to see our latest for other platforms, see our blog post, as these details haven’t changed. Note: we have provided admins the ability to control the rollout of Focused Inbox in their organizations. For more details, read our blog post on admin controls. Rollout status As a reminder, there is a client and service side component required for Focused Inbox to appear in Outlook. The user’s mailbox in Office 365 & Outlook.com must receive a service side update to be Focused Inbox enabled. Secondly, the user must have a build of Outlook that includes the client-side updates necessary for Focused Inbox to appear. Service side status: We deployed to 100% of Office 365 (Exchange Online) and Outlook.com mailboxes. This is no longer a factor in availabilty. Client side status: There are a few client side requirements: Requires build 16.0.7967.2xxx+. This build began rolling out on April 21, 2017 to the Monthly (formerly Current) Channel for Office 365 ProPlus as Version 1703. Those using a Semi-Annual (formerly Deferred) Channel build will not have access to this feature right now, as those channels offer delayed access to builds. Semi-Annual Channel will get Focused Inbox in 2018. Currently, the feature requires Office 365 modern authentication be enabled. Starting with build 16.0.8730 Version 1711, this requirement will no longer apply If you are using a build prior to 1711, modern authentication must be enabled in Exchange Online. See Enable Exchange Online for modern authentication Review Using Office 365 modern authentication with Office clients before getting started Modern authentication is automatically on for Office 2016 client apps. However, it is possible to block this using a registry key. See How modern authentication works for Office 2016 client apps to ensure the Registry key is properly set. Previous use of Clutter To ensure a good experience for those who previously used Clutter, user may get Focused Inbox rolled out in a defaulted-off state. See the chart in the “Transition from Clutter” section of our blog post.61KViews10likes186Comments
