Unable to delete emails
On web Outlook, everything in the primary email account behaves as expected. However, emails in a shared mailbox cannot be deleted, even though everything else in the shared mailbox works fine (i.e., I can read and send emails from it). Interestingly, if I open a new browser window exclusively for this shared mailbox, the deletion works fine. This is reproducible on both Chrome and Edge. I have restarted both browsers to no avail. Could anyone offer a tip on how to remedy this issue? I do not want to keep a new window for this shared mailbox. I prefer to manage it in the same window as the primary mailbox.24Views0likes2CommentsShared Calendars No Longer Visible
For years, I've shared Outlook calendars between my Outlook accounts and with my husband's, without any issues. However, since mid-June the shared calendars have disappeared for no apparent reason. The sharing permissions are still in place, but the calendars are no longer visible or available to add on Android, in the Outlook desktop app, or on Outlook on the web. I've spent hours Googling and tried all the usual troubleshooting steps, but nothing has worked! As a workaround, I now have to invite all @outlook.com accounts to calendar events just so everyone can see them and avoid double bookings. Has anyone come across this before and found a fix that isn't one of the standard "how-to" suggestions? Note: these are personal paid Microsoft accounts.14Views0likes1CommentHow to restore rules for Outlook 2019
My PC had a crash. After I rebooted the PC, I had the following error that I could not get rid of by restarting Outlook: "There was an error reading the rules from the server. The format of the server rules was not recognized. Your stored rules appear to have a bad format" I have 5 POP accounts and 1 Exchange account (for my Microsoft account). I did the following: outlook.exe /cleanrules The error was gone. I back up my files daily, so I restored a PST file of an account for which I created most rules. Unfortunately, the rules window is still empty. Where are the rules stored for Outlook 2019?37Views1like3CommentsAccount hacked with no response from account recovery
Some time ago i had one of my outlook accounts hacked, and of course i went to put in a request to have it recovered, and i have received no response, not even from anything automated, despite increasingly frequent attempts to get, well anything to happen. now im writing this in hopes of getting someone from support or, any outside help in this situation, since it seems like the usual methods aren't working as intended.15Views0likes2CommentsNew Outlook missing sended message

Issue: Outlook will not show most recent emails unless you search for them specifically Affects: Web and Desktop App, on both iOS and Windows Troubleshooting: Re-added account to devices and checked sync settings Checked view settings are sorted by date and show all, not just focused Attempted app resets Deleted and re-added the profile on the desktop apps Check Microsoft account status and all looks fine When it started: After accidentally sending around 2000 emails to all inbox contacts with a link, this issue began occurring. We're unable to raise this with the usual Microsoft Support Centre due to a bug. Please can you provide advice? How can we request Microsoft remove any restrictions placed on the account? Thanks73Views2likes2CommentsOutlook will not send/receive email on Mac
I access my primary email address with Outlook, and about a month ago it stopped working. I was in Europe at the time and thought that might have something to do with it, but I'm home now and it is still not working. To make it worse, at random times when I try to check email, it will suddenly work. However, it has never SENT emails since it started glitching a month ago. I've tried the "fixes" I've found online (clearing messages from Outbox, checking to see if it's set to "Work Offline", etc.) I am NOT a techie, and the "Support" pages from Microsoft keep sending me around in circles. Below is a screenshot of the closest thing I've found relating to my issue, but my emails are not (as far as I know) from shaw.ca or rogers domain accounts. I have legacy Outlook. Can anyone help, and take into account that I'm not a techie. Thanks.44Views1like2CommentsNew Outlook: "Changing the ImapRemoteServerInfo is not allowed" after host migration
Hi everyone! I've migrated my domain/mailbox from one IMAP host to another in May. It cannot be added to New Outlook for Windows — fails instantly with INVALID_CREDENTIALS INTERACTION_REQUIRED, even when I deliberately enter a wrong password (so it's failing before authentication is even attempted). Using DevTools (olk.exe -devtools), the Network tab shows the real rejection from Microsoft's backend: Changing the ImapRemoteServerInfo is not allowed. Attempted to change it from imap.olddomain.sk to imap.newdomain.sk So New Outlook has a cloud-mailbox / connected-account shadow record for this address, pinned to the old host from a previous add attempt, and the backend refuses to update it. What I've confirmed: Webmail and a second mailbox on the same domain/host both work fine → not credentials, not the host. The account does not appear in Settings → Accounts (so I can't use "Remove from all devices" which worked on my first account). It's on no other device or client. App reset didn't help (record is server-side, not local). It's been ~7 weeks, so any 30-day inactivity purge hasn't cleared it How do I get this stuck cloud-mailbox / connected-account record purged when it isn't attached to any removable account? Is there a way to force it, or does this need Microsoft backend action?50Views0likes3CommentsNew Outlook: Calendar view cannot open modal dialogs (e.g. new event/settings) – Mail view works
I've been troubleshooting the above new issue (to me) with Copilot to produce the below summary. Hope this is helpful and you can advise and/or resolve ASAP! Thanks. --- We are experiencing a consistent issue in New Outlook for Windows, with similar reports from Outlook for Mac, where Calendar view fails to display modal dialogs. This affects: Creating new calendar events Editing or duplicating events Opening Settings When triggered from Calendar view, no dialog appears and the UI becomes unresponsive for that action. Note: Once calendar view 'breaks' Outlook, even switching back to mail view doesn't always work (incl. inability to close via usual X top right). Key behaviour ✅ Issue occurs only in Calendar view ✅ Same functionality works correctly from Mail view: New → Event opens and works Settings opens normally ✅ Outlook Web (PWA) and Teams Calendar work without issue ✅ Switching from Calendar → Mail immediately restores functionality Impact Users cannot effectively manage calendars using the desktop app (only view) Disrupts scheduling workflows Requires switching views or using other apps to complete basic actions Scope Multiple users affected Reproduced across: Windows (New Outlook) Mac (similar behaviour reported) Not device-specific Not account-specific Troubleshooting already attempted App repair/reset Full reinstall Restarting WebView2 processes Clearing local app data No resolution (only temporary, same as killing task and restarting app). Observed pattern This appears to be isolated to the Calendar view UI layer, specifically: Modal/dialog rendering fails only when invoked from the Calendar canvas The same dialogs work when invoked from Mail context Suspected cause Likely a regression in the Calendar canvas/modal framework in New Outlook (Monarch) affecting dialog rendering. This is consistent with previously observed Calendar-specific rendering issues in New Outlook (UI-layer defects limited to Calendar view rather than Exchange Online service). Request Confirm whether this is a known or emerging issue Provide workaround or mitigation guidance Advise if this is linked to a recent feature rollout / flighting Share ETA for fix if available Workaround (confirmed) Use Mail view → New → Event Use Outlook Web (PWA) or Teams Calendar Additional notes (optional) Issue appears tied to Calendar view state rather than service/backend Switching views consistently resets behaviour (albeit not consistently/long term) Suggest investigating Calendar modal rendering lifecycle78Views1like6CommentsOutlook puts all my new emails in the Conversation History folder.
I fell victim to a phishing attack on my work email (someone hacked my account and sent fraudulent emails to my clients). That issue has been resolved, and I have reactivated my Outlook account, which had been blocked for sending fraudulent emails. Since then, despite trying to find a solution, my new emails aren't appearing in the inbox; instead, they all go straight to the conversation history. The settings are identical for both inboxes, and there are no specific configurations or blocks in place. I’m at a loss as to what to do—could you please help me?34Views0likes1CommentClassic Outlook crashes when right-clicking in email body

Hey there, Any other developers out there seeing an increase in failures retrieving the email body using OfficeJS SDK with this latest version of Classic Outlook? We're seeing the 100% failure to retrieve the body after the first retrieval succeeds. Any users seeing their add-ins quit working with this change? Everything seems to be fine on Version 2605. For developers; anyone have better places to open threads or contact Outlook support? Thanks! Jeremy382Views0likes1CommentHow can I mute desktop pop-up notifications for a shared mailbox?
I use multiple shared mailboxes, and due to bulk emails, I receive many auto-replies and meeting response notifications, which are quite distracting. I’d like to mute notifications from shared mailboxes while still receiving them for my personal mailbox. How can this be done? Looking for Simple options!!!27Views1like1CommentWon't send and receive automatically
I wonder if one of you gurus could help with this problem. The Outlook symbol on my taskbar has suddenly developed a small Red Cross in in the bottom right hand corner. It now suddenly will not send or receive emails automatically, which it did do previously. It will, however, send and receive if I click the appropriate send and receive symbol. Has anyone had this problem and, if so, how did you cure it? Many thanks for your anticipated help.20Views0likes1CommentMoving OFFICE 2019 to a new computer.
I thought I had asked this but can't find it anywhere! Sorry if there is already a copy here. My laptop is a bit sick so thinking so thinking of replacing it. I remember on previous new computers that you can save a new installation file ready for installing on the computer whilst the old copy is disabled so only one in use. I have a registered copy of OFFICE 2019 (I think it might be the Professional option because I have ACCESS and Powerpoint). Can someone confirm that I can do this and remind me of what to do. Martin (I might have a second registered copy from the days when you installed off a CD-ROM)22Views0likes3CommentsI keep having to re-enter rules?
I have Rules to sort incoming EMails into different folders but find that I am always having to add new rules even though the rule should already be there? Though some incoming mail does seem to be sorted into existing folders but not all. I am using OUTLOOK 2019 and have Sperry's Power Rules Manager. I just checked and I have 105 Rules.
