Worst downgrade ever?
Without any request for user consent, Microsoft has downgraded Outlook today in a way that has wholly wrecked my ability to use the programme. No visibility of emails other than immediate past, no functioning way to change this (changing settings for the unrequested, useless "focused inbox" does not work); no toggle switch (as Microsoft claims there is) to revert to classic Outlook; and, of course, no access to user support. So, is there any guidance available on this site on how to make Outlook usable again, or do I simply have to find another email programme?2Views0likes0CommentsNew Outlook..... yet another issue
My client emailed me. I replied, saying 'see replies in GREEN'. Then I went through his email and replied with green text. The client, who is using NEW OUTLOOK, saw the header 'see replies in GREEN'.... but never the replies! Then, if he double-clicks on the email, it opens in a pop-up and he can see the replies! Seriously, the new outlook has too many problems and no clear advantage.7Views0likes0CommentsOutlook.com auto complete addresses no longer works
I have an elderly client who uses outlook.com in a browser for their msn email. All of a sudden, auto complete no longer works so when they start type an email address on the To line, no suggestions pop up. I verified this occurs on multiple browsers across multiple computers. I also verified this does not occur with one of my outlook accounts when I log into outlook.com and try it there, so it seems somewhat isolated to their account. I tried exporting all their contacts, then deleting them all, adding only one to see if it was an issue with malformed data, and it still does not work. Using built in browser debugging tools, I can see that when you type on the To line, 401 (Unauthorized) errors start to populate in the debugger trying to access the URL https://outlook.live.com/search/api/v1/suggestions I can still click the To button and get the contacts list and add them from there, but this is not ideal, as this individual is going to struggle with trying to learn new methods and this method is several more clicks than just typing a few letters in the To line to auto complete. Are there any other suggestions that I could try? I can't seem to find anything about this in my searches so I don't believe it to be a widespread issue.7Views0likes0CommentsOutlook New and Public Folders & Contacts
Hello, Unfortunately, some of our customers still use public folders to manage their emails, calendars, and contacts. We are aware that these old technologies should no longer be used. However, some customers are difficult to convince. My question: How can I integrate contacts from a public folder into Outlook New or Web? When we add the email address via “Add public folder as favorite,” the contacts still do not appear. The same applies to contacts from a shared mailbox. How can I integrate these contacts? According to Copilot and Chat GPT, this is how it works. Please help. Thank you very much. ATTENTION: Please only provide solutions for Outlook New. We are also aware that it works with Outlook Classic. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)8Views0likes0CommentsOutlook can't receive emails except after restart
I'm using Outlook 2016 on Windows 11. I have three IMAP email accounts, all through AOL. When I click Send/Receive, Outlook successfully does sends on all three accounts, and receives on two of the three, but then hangs without receiving the emails from the third account. If I switch to a different email account, this triggers a synchronization. If I then switch back to the problem account, there is no synchronization. However, if I then restart Outlook and do another Send/Receive, sends and receives work for all three accounts. This means that every time I want to check for emails from my third email account, I have to first restart Outlook. Although I may have noticed this issue on very rare occasions over the last year or so, it didn't start happening consistently until August 29, 2025. Now it happens almost every time. Out of well over a dozen tries, it has only not happened twice. (That is, there were two occasions when the emails were received correctly without a restart.)13Views0likes0CommentsOutlook 365: Folder sorting resets automatically to A–Z
Outlook 365 – Folder sorting resets automatically Environment: - Outlook desktop app (Microsoft 365) - Exchange / Office 365 mailbox - Dark mode enabled - Multiple shared mailboxes Problem description: Outlook automatically changes the folder sorting/display settings without user action. The option “Sort subfolders A to Z” reactivates randomly during the day. The configured sorting (e.g., Received – Descending) resets several times per day. In View Settings, the sorting remains configured correctly, but visually Outlook displays a different order. The issue occurs across multiple folders (Inbox, shared mailboxes). Actions already taken: - Verified and modified sorting via View > View Settings > Sort. - Applied the same view to multiple folders. - Confirmed that the settings remain saved correctly. - Issue persists: the parameter stays the same, but Outlook displays mails differently after refresh. Possible causes considered: 1. Outlook bug – display refresh resets the sorting visually even though settings remain unchanged. 2. Corrupted Outlook views – local view definition might be corrupted (outlook.exe /cleanviews). 3. Outlook add-in – third-party add-in may override sorting. 4. Exchange synchronization – server-side policy may enforce default sorting on shared mailboxes. 5. Recent Microsoft 365 updates – some users have reported similar issues in 2025 (views automatically resetting). Request: - Confirm whether this is a known Outlook 365 bug related to automatic resetting of folder views/sorting. - Provide solution or patch/workaround. - Official Microsoft recommendations to prevent Outlook from reverting to A → Z sorting automatically.53Views0likes0CommentsCan't Sign in to Outlook Desktop
I can login online to the Microsoft outlook 365 website, but anytime I try to login to outlook on my computer I get the following error Correlation Id: eb05cb77-8e26-4f1c-98ee-4352a91be1a1 Timestamp: 2025-08-27T16:11:44.000Z DPTI: f2683321ce09c3d50486ee69cad024321807b8f882cc004862660fed8a7a8557 Message: An unexpected error occurred. Tag: 7ita9 Code: 3399811147 . This issue started when Windows asked me to change my password. Normally it would have asked me to log back in but instead I got this error over and over again. I've uninstalled 365 (The app and the classic version) and reinstalled it. I've restarted my computer and still not able to login. I've asked our IT admin but he hasn't been able to solve it as of yet. I figured I'll post here and see if anyone has had any experience with this.85Views0likes0CommentsOutlook signatures
Hello Please i need your help on this issue. It no longer seems to be the client version or version of Outlook. Please see below the Outlook New which is set up on a different device signed in with an account under the same tenancy with the same issue not being able to have multiple signatures. (This is now the same Version and Client Version of Outlook New on Windows 11/Outlook Web Access that many other clients and even myself and Stephan, who do have the option for multiple signatures.)19Views0likes0CommentsOutlook cannot find AD user
I have a user that we set up in AD just like the rest of the users in his OU, but when I went to a computer and had him log in, I opened outlook and went to do the setup, which is normally sets it up to whomever is logged in, and it will not find his account during the "Searching for server settings" or whatever it says. I did notice this computer and another computer he was trying to get set up on were creating temporary profiles whenever he would log in, so I went into the registry where the profiles were and deleted the .bak profiles (as described in another forum to fix the temp profile issue) and after that, he was able to log in and it created a user profile for him. Even after that, I would open Outlook 2016 and it would try to go through the setup wizard, using his account automatically since he is logged in and it would just error out and say that it couldnt find the server settings or something and ask if I wanted to retry. I hit retry, it fails again, and forces the checkbox at the bottom that says "change account settings manually" or whatever to be activated. Any thoughts on this? I have checked his AD account numerous times and made sure he was in EAC as well as having a license.9Views0likes0CommentsMAC - Importing Legacy POP On My Computer data
The end is nigh for Legacy thus I did the switch as a test knowing I could still revert. Background: I have long time POP account. In the UBF8T346G9.Office, Outlook, Outlook 15 Profiles, Main Profile: Data folder: 159 GB. Largest folders: Message Attachments: 90 GB Message Sources: 65 GB Messages: 5 GB Before I switching I tried: Export Data to OLM – don't have enough room Delete attachments from multiple emails – can only do one email at a time. Rules can't help After switch it began importing On My Computer data which was hopeful, but it held at 141498 items, and would take days I read. I reverted back to Legacy and will go another way about it when I have a few off days. My question: Apart from deleting years of emails, what's a better way to get the most data out of Legacy, and/or speeding up the import? Get another drive and Export Data to OLM, then manually import? Delete attachment folders directly from Message Attachments folder? Find something like Clean my Mac? ?? Perfect world I get all my in out mail with whatever attachments remain and Calendar data, but I'll take what I can get at this point. Appreciated!14Views0likes0CommentsDeleting Outlook calendar attachments
Why can I consistently NOT remove attachments that I upload to a calendar item? The attachment of course has a drop down menu and when I click "Remove Attachment" nothing happens. Never had this problem before the New Outlook. I'm finding I have to kill my calendar item and recreate, just to be sure the old attachment is gone. Is there a workaround? A plan to fix this glitch?9Views0likes0CommentsOutlook 2021 & 2024 Home and Business app crash
Hi and good day everyone, I'm having an issue with Outlook, the app suddenly closes and crashes when I try to open some emails. This issue doesn't happen on Outlook 2016, which opens emails normally. The error shown in the Event Viewer is as below. I tried uninstalling the previous update and now have updated to the latest version, but the issue persists. Are there any patches available to solve this problem?14Views0likes0CommentsHow To Add Multiple Email Addresses in Outlook 2021

Most people use Outlook for sending and receiving emails… and that’s about it. But buried inside are tools that can save you time, keep you organized, and make your workday smoother. I have Windows 10 Prof installed. I'm trying to use Outlook to work with my Yahoo email account. I used MS Outlook (new) first. It couldn't sync any emails from Yahoo server into Outlook's Inbox. I switched to Outlook Classic, and it slowly and finally synced about 8k emails into the Inbox in Outlook from my Yahoo email account. This, however, is still only about 50% of the emails in my Yahoo webmail's Inbox. I can't read any older Yahoo emails in Outlook Classic at the moment because of this issue. Is there an upper limit in Outlook of how many mails can be synced to Outlook for a Yahoo email account? Is that a limit on the Outlook side, or from Yahoo server side? Thanks. ------------------------- Update: It seems this is happening to folders as well. Outlook Classic can only sync to around 8.8k max or so mails from Yahoo for each folder. Windows 10 Pro. PS: I'm not able to try out the new Outlook yet, as it cannot even sync any mail from Yahoo into the Inbox at all.25Views0likes0CommentsNew Outlook for Windows Enables S/MIME Inheritance Control
The new Outlook for Windows now supports the NoSignOnReply control for inheritance of S/MIME signatures from messages to replies. It’s an update to match the feature that’s been in Outlook (classic) for a long time. The new setting is only available for Exchange Online and isn’t supported by OWA. https://office365itpros.com/2025/07/25/nosignonreply-smime/60Views0likes0CommentsImport PST New Outlook during the PST interim phase
Microsoft is rolling out PST functionality in phases. At the time of this post, you must export from Classic Outlook before importing to New Outlook. Also, I added multiple PST files to New Outlook and noticed they all showed up as "Outlook Data File" in the left navigation. No way to tell which was which unless I clicked into each one. Annoying. Turns out, you can give each PST a custom account name before importing.
