Feature Request: Add "Recent Activity Feed" combining Sent & Received emails

Respected Outlook Product Team,

I am writing to submit a feature request aimed at improving productivity and message tracking for power users who heavily rely on Microsoft Outlook for their daily communication workflows.

The Problem:

Currently, Outlook separates communication into distinct folders: "Inbox" for incoming mail and "Sent Items" for outgoing mail. When managing large-scale communications—specifically when sending bulk or recurring emails via BCC (Blind Carbon Copy)—it becomes incredibly tedious to constantly switch back and forth between the Inbox and Sent Items folders to track recent operations or verify the exact sequence of historical activities. The existing "Group messages by conversation" feature also fails to merge these independent outgoing streams seamlessly unless a direct reply is received.

The Solution / Feature Proposal:

I highly request the product team to introduce a "Recent Activity Feed" filter or view within the main Outlook Inbox interface.

Inspired by modern social media and collaboration timeline feeds, this feature should display both Sent and Received emails chronologically in a single unified message list.

Incoming and outgoing messages should be clearly distinguishable using intuitive icons (e.g., incoming/outgoing arrows) and labels (e.g., "SENT (BCC)" vs "RECEIVED").

This will allow professionals to review all recent actions, sent bulk updates, and incoming threads at a single glance without breaking their operational focus.

I have attached a UI/UX Concept Design image with this email to visually demonstrate how this feature would streamline the user experience seamlessly.

I sincerely hope the engineering and product management teams will consider this feature in future Microsoft Outlook updates to adapt the platform to modern, high-volume workflow requirements.

New Outlook problem with missing new mail in conversation

Hello. In new Outlook (in browser) is problem, when comes new email like a answer for multi thread, newest email are not showed automatically, i need to refresh outlook in browser and after that is showed. Why is this problem? Is possible to setup this automatically?

Outlook 16.109.3 crashes on launch on macOS 26 (Tahoe beta) - UTI Info.plist regression

macOS 26.5.1 Build 25F80 (Tahoe beta)
- Microsoft Outlook 16.109.3 (build 26053122)
- MacBook Air Mac14,2 arm64, 16GB

Issue:

Outlook crashes immediately on every launch. Occurs on clean install with no profile. Tested two builds (26053122 and 26051019) - both crash identically.

Root cause from system logs:

macOS 26 has tightened UniformTypeIdentifiers enforcement. Outlook's Info.plist is missing explicit declarations for 12+ com.microsoft UTI types. On every launch:

"UniformTypeIdentifiers: Type 'com.microsoft.DataObject' was expected to be declared and exported in the Info.plist of Microsoft Outlook.app, but it was not found."

Same error fires for: com.microsoft.Embedded-Object, EMF-Plus, GIF-Office-Art, Ink-Serialized-Format, JFIF-Office-Art, Link-Source-Descriptor, Object-Descriptor, Embed-Source, PNG-Office-Art, Office-Drawing-Drag-Drop-Format, Office-Drawing-Shape-Format.

Secondary error: /private/var/db/DetachedSignatures does not exist on macOS 26, causing an SQLite open failure in libsqlite3.

Workaround: None. Outlook Web only until a fix ships.

Ask: Please update Outlook's Info.plist to explicitly declare all com.microsoft UTI types to comply with macOS 26's stricter enforcement. This will affect all Microsoft 365 Mac apps when macOS 26 ships publicly this fall.

I have been trying to move to the new Outlook for over a year, but I always end up having to revert to Classic Outlook.

The new Outlook is slow, particularly when opening windows, and some features appear to have been designed to look modern rather than to be practical. The design also makes it difficult to work efficiently: there are too many colours, the visibility of important information is poor, and the overall experience feels more like using the web app than a proper desktop application.

There are also functional issues. For example, Quick Steps do not always work correctly when emails are grouped.

Today I missed a Zoom call because I could not click the meeting link in the location field. I also could not copy the link or even view the full URL. This was the final issue for me.

In my opinion, Microsoft should reconsider the direction of the new Outlook and instead invest in improving Classic Outlook by making it faster and reducing its memory usage. That should be the priority before adding more new features. It is frustrating to buy a laptop with a large amount of memory only for much of it to be consumed by WhatsApp, Teams, Outlook, and other Microsoft tools.

Please focus on optimising existing applications before introducing flashier features and AI functionality that often clutter the screen rather than improve productivity.

IMAP connection error INVALIDCREDENTIALS

I am trying to add my external IMAP mailbox from my hosting provider (Easyhost.be) to the new Outlook app / Outlook.com.

However, when I try to add this mailbox to my domain 'vinedo.be', I immediately receive the error message: INVALIDCREDENTIALS INTERACTIONREQUIRED.

In the classic Outlook desktop app, the account works immediately via IMAP with exactly the same password. Everything also works perfectly with the Outlook app on an Android smartphone.

There appears to be an incorrect tenant attribution or cache in the background of the Microsoft Cloud that is internally blocking authentication for the domain vinedo.be.

Could you clear the cache/tenant attribution for the domain vinedo.be so that the IMAP connection is routed externally again?

The mailbox email address removed for privacy reasons was hosted by Gandi.net until recently. This is presumably causing the problem.

Problem adding IMAP email account to Outlook on Android

I am trying to add a couple of IMAP email accounts to Outlook on Android. Both are for my own domain, and I already have both added to Outlook on my windows laptop without any issues.

One of the emails, "name@ domain . com" is added without any problems on Android, but my catch-all email, "*@ domain . com" will not add, and constantly gives the "check email/password" error. This email works with Outlook on my windows PC, and with other email apps on Android.

I suspect the problem is due to the *@ domain address, but my email provider says it should work with Outlook, and it already works on Windows Outlook. Has anyone seen this before?

MacOS is up to date, and this all appears to have started after Office for Mac was updated on or after May 26's update.

We've tried resetting their profiles to no avail. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Unable to sync my iPhone to my Outlook 2019 anymore

I can’t sync my Outlook 2019 calendar and contacts to my iPhone on my Lenovo Windows 11 Computer anymore. For years I have been using iTunes to sync my phone but recently, for some unknown reason, iTunes quit recognizing my computer and all attempts to reauthorize it failed. My research into this situation told me that Apple is phasing out iTunes in favor of Apple Devices and Apple Music. Apple Devices does not sync my Contacts or Calendar. Also, for some reason my Outlook Data files are .OST files instead of .PST. I don’t know why this is because I am not on an Exchange and my Office 2019 is a stand-alone. The .OST format seems to be causing problems with any solution I have been able to find. Even iCloud cant sync them.

Can anybody help me get my iPhone to sync my calendar and contacts because I use it all the time?

Mail features

Email remains central to how many people manage communications, priorities, and follow-up. Outlook includes familiar tools for composing and organizing messages, along with newer capabilities that can help reduce friction and make inbox management more efficient.

Pin a mail: Keep important messages easy to find. The Pin feature keeps a selected email at the top of your inbox so it remains visible as new messages arrive. This can be useful for items you need to reference often or do not want to lose track of, such as travel details, approvals, or active requests. By keeping priority messages in view, Pin can reduce time spent searching and help you stay focused on current work.

It is particularly useful for requests that depend on additional information, scheduled tasks, or work you plan to handle during dedicated focus time.

Add multiple categories at the same time: Organize messages with fewer steps. If you use categories to manage incoming mail, Outlook makes it possible to apply more than one category in a single action. This can help when you need to capture multiple types of context, such as project, priority, or follow-up status, without reopening menus repeatedly. It is especially useful when processing a large number of messages.

Sweep: Reduce repetitive inbox cleanup. Sweep lets you create automatic actions for messages from a specific sender. For example, you can delete promotional mail after a set period, keep only the latest message in a thread, or move recurring updates to a folder. This can help reduce manual cleanup and keep your inbox more focused on items that need attention.

Schedule Send: Write on your schedule and deliver at the right time. Schedule Send lets you prepare messages when it is convenient for you and send them later at a time that works better for the recipient. This can improve visibility, support more intentional communication, and reduce the need to rely on reminders or leave messages in Drafts.

Simplified folder sharing: Share folders more simply. Sharing a mail folder has traditionally required extra permission steps, especially for nested folders. Now, when you share a folder, Outlook can automatically apply the visibility permissions needed for its parent folders. This can reduce setup effort, help avoid access issues for recipients, and make folder sharing easier to complete with confidence.

Calendar and meeting features

For many people, the workday is shaped by meetings, schedule changes, and the need to stay aligned on what comes next. Outlook includes calendar and meeting capabilities that can help simplify planning, reduce coordination overhead, and make follow-up easier.

Follow a meeting: Stay informed without attending live. The Follow RSVP option lets you indicate that you will not attend a meeting but still want access to the recap. This can be helpful when schedules overlap or when a meeting is useful to monitor without joining in real time. It can help you stay connected to outcomes and shared materials while keeping your calendar more manageable.

Save calendar views: Return to the calendar setup you need more quickly. Saved Views let you store specific calendar combinations and switch back to them without rebuilding the same view each time. This can save time for people who move frequently between personal, team, and project schedules. It also can make it easier to review the right set of calendars for different planning tasks.

Improved meeting tracking: Work with meeting responses more efficiently. Outlook includes tools that make it easier for organizers to review and manage meeting responses. You can sort attendee lists, search for names in the Tracking view, and copy or download response details when needed. These capabilities can be especially useful for larger meetings where attendance information needs to be reviewed quickly.

Meeting recap: Find follow-up materials in one place. After a Teams meeting, the calendar event in Outlook can surface a Meeting recap with links to the recording, transcript, and shared files. This can make it easier to review what was discussed, confirm details, or catch up afterward. By keeping these materials together, Meeting recap can reduce the time it takes to get oriented after a meeting.

Change a recurring event: Update future meetings while preserving earlier ones. When plans change, Outlook lets you edit the current event and all following events in a recurring series. It can simplify updates for organizers and reduce disruption for attendees.

Personalization and settings

New Outlook - Using two Mails with slightly different domain

Hey everyone,
As Old Outlook is connected with an additional app for one of my clients, I thought I could use New Outlook as my new operation centre for my various mail addresses.
Now the issue: my main business-address - also used for MS365 and Microsoft Entra ID and connected to my MS Account: "david [@] wb. koenig-leiche . at" and my main personal address which has its own web-mail "david@ koenig-leiche . at" are not possible to be added together.

When I try to add the second address I receive the following error: "This email account has already been added."

Signature - Table Borders Showing

My work colleagues have outlook signatures. They use tables and the borders in their tables don't show.

I created my signature in Microsoft word and made mine look very similar and made the borders transparent.

I used these settings to make the border of the tables transparent:

I pasted it into the signature in Outlook, but the borders show.

The editor in Outlook does not give the option to remove the borders.

What do I do?

For 3 weeks now every time I try to sign in I get that message but account and password is correct, I have reached out to chat support every day for a fix have even done all trouble shooting steps multiple times a week.

I recently got told that it is a known issue with the server and it is at Microsoft ends but there is no time line to fix it. It’s know become a joke that I’ve been locked out for 3 weeks with no help .

Outlook 365 - Lost Features in older Outlook versions

Outlook 365 is the biggest bag of bugs that I have ever seen in any product released for sale to the Public. Whoever wrote it should be fired.

Outlook 365 has lost features that old versions of Outlook used to do routinely.

I created about a dozen .pst files to categorize and store my emails.

When I try to move an email from the Inbox to a storage location, it may not even let me move it.

When it does allow it to be moved,, the email then re-appears in the Inbox.

The .pst files cannot be moved to be arranged in my preferred order. Old versions of Outlook did that just fine.

When I was doing programming, I would have been embarrassed to give something so anti-user-friendly to my users. We used to call something this bad "the abortion that lived".

New Outlook autocompletes an address that is no longer in use and I can't seem to delete it

Topic says it all, really.

Client of mine has a new company and when I type the start of his name Outlook autocompletes for his old company even though it is no longer in my address book and his contact is updated with new information.

I seem to recall there used to be an "x" that would let me delete incorrect autocompletes, but I can't find anything and Copilot has no useful suggestions.

The autocomplete comes up in both the web version of Outlook--I basically never use this--on my PC which I primarily use, and IOS.

Important email completely disappeared when sending

I am using office 365. I spend a lot of time writing this email. It included one other email as an attachment. When I sent it it simply disappeared. The only sign that it had ever existed is the following failure message:

If it is supported:

Are there additional manifest, policy, trust, or runtime requirements beyond:
- absolute HTTPS URLs,
- <AppDomains>,
- .well-known/microsoft-officeaddins-allowed.json,
- Office.actions.associate(...),
- and using a single bundled JS file?

If it is not supported or unreliable in this runtime:

What is the recommended/supported pattern for an OnAppointmentSend handler that requires a server-side validation decision before allowing send?

We are currently considering this workaround architecture:

Precompute the validation result in the taskpane/WebView runtime.
Store the decision in Outlook custom properties.
Read the stored value from events.js during OnAppointmentSend.

Is this workaround required, or should direct outbound HTTP from the event runtime work reliably?

The launch event itself works correctly:

OnAppointmentSendHandler is invoked.
Office.actions.associate(...) works.
event.completed(...) is delivered to Outlook successfully.

The issue is specifically that response-bearing HTTP from events.js does not complete reliably.

Observed behavior

The handler logs successfully.
typeof fetch === "function".
typeof XMLHttpRequest === "function".

However:

fetch(...) starts, but no response callback is logged.
In earlier tests, fetch remained pending until our timeout marker.
XMLHttpRequest reaches readyState: 1 after open(), but does not return useful response data.
In some runs it eventually reports:
- status: 0,
- empty response,
- or timeout.
Server-side logs show the request does not reach the server in the failing cases.
event.completed(...) works and Outlook receives the completion.

Things already ruled out / tested

We are using absolute URLs, not relative URLs.
We tested both:
- https://localhost:3000/...
- http://localhost:3000/...
We tested through an HTTPS tunnel pointing to localhost.
We tested trusted local HTTPS certificates; this does not appear to be a certificate trust issue.
We configured .well-known/microsoft-officeaddins-allowed.json as documented for event-based CORS.
We added the target domains to <AppDomains>.
We tested public safe domains such as JSONPlaceholder-style endpoints.
This does not appear to be ordinary CORS because in failing cases the request never reaches the server.
The events.js bundle is intentionally simple and compatible with older JavaScript syntax.
We avoided modern syntax and can provide an ES5/ES2015 version if needed.
The runtime itself loads and executes the handler correctly.
