New Outlook - Keep replies in folder

This was always an option, and maybe I don't know where to find it.  The option was: "When reply to a message that is not in the Inbox, save the reply in the same folder"  I can't seem to find that option in the New Outlook.

It puts the reply in the "Sent" folder and I have to manually move it to the correct folder.

The "When reply to a message that is not in the Inbox, save the reply in the same folder"  is unavailable in New Outlook or Outlook for the web. Regardless of submitting an email from the inbox or folder, the email will be found in the Sent folder.

Microsoft has not indicated on the roadmap or message center whether this feature is being considered for future updates. I recommend that you submit feedback to Microsoft by click on Help | Feedback.

It Worked!  I had to learn a bit about Power Automate to get it configured to my environment but it was time well spent.  Thanks!!

      Hi Victor_Ivanidze,
Thank you so much, I've activated your solution, and it's working. 👍 (The first test failed because one of the Connections stopped; I had to restart it.)

I have been looking for this too. It is essential for traceability and future archival. Any reason, why this was not considered in new outlook migration?

MS team - can we have this feature at the earliest, please?

ReignofjermI'm starting to wonder whether there's an underlying issue with the https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/overview APIs which is preventing this feature from working.

I've recently been trying to update an application which was using IMAP/SMTP to use the new Graph APIs. When it moves a sent message from the "sent items" folder to a specific folder, I occasionally end up with a blank draft message in the target folder, rather than the actual message which was sent.

I suspect this missing Outlook feature won't make an appearance until the underlying Graph API is updated to support it.

And you can name this "not implemented bla bla" solution? Really?

Check settings - layout - show email grouped by conversation.

I hope that's what you meant?

This is not what we're looking for.

There is a setting in Outlook 'when replying to a message that is not in the inbox, save the reply in the same folder'.  By checking this, it saves the hassle of having to move items from the sent items folder to appropriate mail folders.

This setting is not in the new version of Outlook it seems.
