How to change primary user
I'm helping someone whose husband died. They have a "Microsoft 365 Family" plan. He was the primary person and she was a secondary user. I suspect for consistency of her information she should not make a new account in her name and abandon this previous account. Rather if possible she should keep the current account but make herself the primary account holder and make his email a secondary. She would keep his address active just for a while until everything to do with him is wound down. But how does she change the account so she becomes the primary? Thanks.SolvedTCanDec 19, 2025Copper Contributor62Views0likes1CommentLitigationHold Delayholdapplied and Managed Folder Assistant
Hello All, I have a set of mailboxes with LitigationHoldEnabled = True, and I need to remove Litigation Hold from them. My understanding is that after I remove Litigation Hold from an Exchange Online mailbox, the next time the Managed Folder Assistant (MFA) processes the mailbox, it will detect the hold removal and then set DelayHoldApplied = True. This begins the 30-day delay hold period. My question is: Will any retention policies delete data in the time window between removing Litigation Hold and the moment MFA processes the mailbox and sets DelayHoldApplied = True My understanding is "Even though DelayHoldApplied is not yet visible (or True) before MFA processes it, Exchange Online automatically protects the mailbox from deletions immediately after hold removal, before MFA applies Delay Hold" I want to ensure that no data is deleted during this transitional period. Kindly advice with supporting article if possible. Regards AfsarSolvedAfsar_ShariffDec 18, 2025Brass Contributor47Views0likes1CommentOffice 365 and joining a family
I want to share my Office 365 Family subscription with my daughter. She has her own Microsoft Family because she uses family safety with Xbox for her children. How can I invite her to share my Microsoft Office and not join my family. Apparently Microsoft only allows a person to belong to one family. Thanks in advanceSolvedDonC2Dec 09, 2025Copper Contributor29Views0likes1CommentIs there no way to allow people to comment on my word document?
I am trying to share something I am working on with beta readers and some friends but the only options are "can edit" or "can view". There is no option for "can comment" or to let them viewers use the review function. I asked for help with the issue and got told that because my account is personal OneDrive and not business that there is no review only feature. Was that a mistake or is Microsoft really this behind on basic features? Google Drive has allowed giving people access with "comment only" for years.SolvedHarley001Nov 24, 2025Copper Contributor197Views1like2CommentsMultitenant collaboration with existing guest users
Hi, we plan to set up Multitenant collaboration with a few tenants. Regarding this project I got 2 quesstions: 1.) what happens with users from one MTO who is already present as a guest users in one or multiple MTOs? Will that Guest User be merged with the new member status? 2.) Are newly added users from other MTOs treated with the Conditional Access policies from the MTO they are accessing? We have a conditional access polic yin place which forces B2b usre sto re-authenticate every 9 hours. Will the member user from an MTO aplly this policy?SolvedheinzelrumpelNov 18, 2025Brass Contributor188Views0likes1CommentAsking for Using a work account (Business Basic) in Outlook Home Version
I have the Home version of Office built into my Windows laptop and am already using it with a personal account. I plan to subscribe to Business Basic. Can my Business Basic account be used with the Home version of Office? Perhaps I could sign out of my personal account and then sign in with my Business Basic work account. Are there any implications if I do that? Or do you have any suggestions? Thank youSolvedIrvanRNov 02, 2025Brass Contributor95Views0likes2CommentsOutlook Classic for M365 - File > Encrypt > 'Encrypt-Only' option applies 'Do Not Forward' label?
I recently joined a new company and am helping support their M365 tenant and admin duties. I'm running into a very weird issue where no recipients can actually read/view the message when we encrypt emails using only 1 specific method (our organization largely uses the Outlook Classic for Microsoft 365 desktop app). If a user follows this method, for some reason the 'Do Not Forward' label is applied to the encryption, despite specifically selecting 'Encrypt-Only' - it defaults to 'Do Not Forward' every single time: New Email > File > Encrypt > Encrypt-Only Sending emails with this method gives any/all recipients a "You don't have sufficient permissions to open the mail." regardless of where they try to open the email (OWA, Outlook Classic, New Outlook) Yet, if the user tries this other method below - the proper Encrypt-Only label is applied, and any Outlook client immediately and opens/views the email as you'd expect: New Email > Options ribbon > Encrypt properly applies the Encrypt-Only label I verified IRM (Identity Rights Management) is enabled for our tenant: And encryption tests pass with flying colors: Ultimately, I'm at a loss for what's going on here and specifically where to check to fix this issue for this 1 specific encryption method. Poking around in the Purview portal, I'm having a hard time figuring out where these encryption policies/settings lie and how to get this method to stop defaulting to 'Do Not Forward' even though 'Encrypt-Only' is checked.SolvedITTTTTT42Oct 29, 2025Copper Contributor313Views2likes4CommentsWhat is the best OKR Software for Microsoft 365?
So... It is finally happening. Viva Goals is less than two months from shutting down. With Viva Goals having been built by Microsoft for Microsof users, it had a certain advantage over other apps in the app store. So now, what do you all think is the best OKR Software for Microsoft 365? Because I'm pretty sure even though they were warned well in advance, there are probably some organizations still using Viva Goals that will need to switch fast!SolvedJordanT86Oct 22, 2025Copper Contributor213Views0likes2CommentsAdd a page title to a OneNote page using Power Automate
Hello, I have set up a flow in Power Automate to create a new page in OneNote. It extracts information from an email, including the information that I want to be the title of the new page in OneNote. The flow creates the new page in the correct notebook and section, but the page is untitled. My flow correctly composes the title in a Compose action named PageTitle. The parameters for the action "Create page in a section" only include the following Notebook Key Notebook section Page Content AI suggested that I add the page title to Page Content inside either an html h1 tag. I tried that. It does not turn the text inside the tag into the title of the page. It simply formats the text inside the contents of the OneNote page. I also tried using the html title tag. That didn't work either, and the PageTitle wasn't even output into the contents of the OneNote page, so it was just empty. I would appreciate suggestions for how to do this. I cannot see either a OneNote tag or Power Automate tag for this discussion. If I am posting my question in the wrong discussion place, please direct me to the right place. Hello, I have deleted an Excel file from a SharePoint folder that I don't need anymore. Now, when I try to open Excel 365 from 'Open in new window' in Teams, I don't get to the usual landing page with recent files, options for a new file, etc. but just an error message: 'Sorry, this file has been deleted or moved', referring to the file that I have indeed deleted. I can access the usual landing page if it's in the Excel 365 window embedded in Teams, but opening the app in a new window is no longer possible. Why would the landing page for opening an app in a new window not be the normal landing page, but just an error message, with no option to open another file, seems counter-intuitive. Does anyone have a solution? Best regards, MJSolvedtheRealMJOct 09, 2025Copper Contributor69Views0likes2Comments
