Create and send an email programmatically with the new Outlook
Hello, I'm maintaining an application that relies on VSTO to interface with PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook. With the new Outlook desktop app, creating and sending simple emails with VSTO (link) is now impossible. How can I create an email with attachment and display it to the user that has the new outlook? I found a way to detect if the new outlook is installed (registry key) so I'm happy with a solution that works only with the new outlook.Teams App Won't Authenticate in New Outlook
I have a Teams app that is about to be upgraded to the new manifest so it will run in Outlook. I uploaded the app to test it, and in the old Outlook it works fine. I can see the interface, click the button to authenticate with my cloud system, it pops up a small window inside Outlook, I authenticate, and it works. Just like Teams. If a switch to the New Outlook, it doesn't work. I can still see the interface, but when I click the button to authenticate with my cloud system it does not pop up a small window inside Outlook. Instead it send me to the web browser. This will always fail as the Teams JS requires Outlook to be notified of the success in the small window it must provide (like old Outlook and Teams does). How can I get this to work? We've had reports among our customers in the past that this happens in Teams and the only thing I've ever seen work is to log out of Teams entirely. But in Outlook that's not an option. I've tried to repair and reset Outlook via the Settings app in Windows to no avail.
How to disable annoying popup in Outlook
Over the past few days, Outlook desktop (new) version 1.2024.1023.300 has been showing an annoying popup (as shown in the image) every time I open Outlook. It's becoming quite frustrating. I've tried clicking both buttons and even submitted a report, but the popup still appears every time I open Outlook.
How to copy the location from an existing calendar item
Subj says it all. I created a calendar item with the location no problem. I needed to make more calendar items using the same location, but I cant for the life of me figure out how to copy the location data. Clicking the location opens a subform that lists the address however there is no way I can find to copy it. I ended up typing teh address in notepad so I could copy/paste into the calendar invites. I have an M3 MacBook Pro MAX running Parallels Desktop to give me Windows 11. Historically, I have been able to run Outlook on MacOS and Windows without any problems. However, now I can'tadd my Hotmail account to Outfor Mac v16.93. I have removed Outlook and reinstalled it. I have cleared the application data. I also tried to raise a support ticket, but it won't connect to the Live Chat agent. Contact Support - Outlook for Mac OneCustomer | Chat Support We are unable to load chat at this time. Please try again later. When I try to add my Hotmail account back in, I get the following message after accepting the Authenticator challenge. Outlook.com Connecting to Outlook.com. An authentication error occurred while configuring account. Try Again Connecting to Outlook via a web browser works; Outlook on Windows also works. All major players provide their software for Linux as well (deb and rpm packages), except for apple and Microsoft. apple doesn't like playing nice with others, but I wonder how comes that Microsoft is so reluctant here? I had a chance to try outlook (native) on MacOS today. It is so much better than the web app. I'd love to have that on my Linux desktop.

Hi All! I found a solution to turn off all email notifications on new comments in my shared files (through settings on SharePoint), but it doesn't really solve my problem. In project files I work on with my colleagues, email notifications are helpful for monitoring workflows and streamline the process. At the same time, I'm an owner of yearly excel files shared with a big team in order to monitor the work on all clients and automate the visualization of it, but it gets commented on a lot and I don't need to get all of that on my Outlook. Is there any way to turn off email notifications about new comments for just one file without turning them off on all my shared files? Kind regards, Jakub Banasik
