Exchange online retention policy

Hello,

We are using Microsoft Purview to setup an Exchange retention policy through Data LIfecycle Management.  We are wanting to do a gradual rollout, we don't want do apply it to everyone all at once.  It looks like in the policy settings you can apply it to individual mailboxes.  I'm wondering if we can instead setup a mail-enabled security group and add users to that for the policy to apply to them.  Is that possible?
