New Landing Pages for Word, Excel and PowerPoint (rant)
So I found out this week that MS is piloting new landing pages for the core Office apps (again). Instead of loading in the M365 Home page, they now load in an entirely new page. Why was this necessary? We've already been here before and MS spent years moving everything to the Home app. The dust has finally settled and things are working great. Why move things out again?iOS app failing to block notifications
I've noticed in recent weeks/months that the Teams app on my iPhone (v6.23.1) pings me about meetings and calls, despite being active on the desktop app (windows 11). I've got the mobile app setup to block notification when i'm active on the desktop, but the notifications still come through. Not chat/channel messages though. Just meetings and calls. Is there another settings I'm missing or is this a bug?69Views0likes0CommentsPinning the new (Outlook) Calendar in Teams
Not sure if anyone else has noticed, but the new calendar seems to refuse being pinned to the left navigation. Using version: 24295.612.3262.1872 The good news is I think I found a workaround: switch back to the old calendar Pin it Switch back Worked on my end. I might have been in this predicament because I originally had the new calendar installed as a separate app (from the Teams store). Since updating last night, that app went away but I was now able to view the toggle to switch to the new calendar. Now the only issue is that I can't move the pinned calendar to another position on the navigation. Anyone else having these issues? I've experienced this on two different accounts, on different devices.241Views0likes0CommentsRe: Copilot agent unable to view meeting recordings in folder?
Thanks, I'll work on my prompts. If I can crack it, I will let you know :) When I pointed the agent to specific files, I was able to ask it for recaps and summaries. TBH, I didn't spend too much time on that config because of the 20-something source limit agents have.118Views0likes1CommentCopilot agent unable to view meeting recordings in folder?
I want to have an agent that can query the recording from recurring meetings. When I point the agent to a single recording (.mp4), I can ask the agent questions about it. However, when I point the agent to a folder with recordings, it's like the agent doesn't even know that there's files there. Is this a limitation or a bug?205Views0likes4CommentsToday I Borked OneDrive Sync on MacOS. Here's How I Did It and How I Fixed It
TL;DR - a short story of how I broke sync on my Macbook and why it required a full re-sync. Hopefully this helps someone down the line. Backstory I've been slowly moving all of my uploaded photos and videos to my Macbook for the past week. For the most part, things were going well until I made a small change with a OneDrive/SharePoint site and shortcut that seemed to break the sync tool to the point of requiring me to re-sync everything fresh. What Broke? The sync tool stopped syncing and nothing I did could get it to start again. How Did this Happen? Essentially, I deleted a SharePoint site that still has a shortcut in my OneDrive library. The sync tool picked up that the Shortcuts were no longer working and offered to "remove" the shortcuts for me, so I went for it. The tool essentially quiet-quit from there. I quit/re-opened the app, but the sync would never start-up again. I then removed the shortcuts via the web app (which I probably should have done in the first place), but the sync app wouldn't pick up the changes. That's when I knew it was truly borked. Restarting my computer couldn't even solve the issue. It took a full re-sync to get back into business, which thankfully went smoothly. Lesson Learned Remove shortcuts from the OneDrive web app, not the sync app.262Views0likes0CommentsIt's Nearly 2025 and Meeting Channel invites still don't work properly
With channel meetings, all members get a meeting invite regardless of whether the organizer invites them or not. Why even offer the ability to invite individuals in the first place? It's been so long, I'm starting to think this was by design and MS has no intention of fixing it.403Views0likes2CommentsRe: Is there any kind of email or notification that is pushed when someone uses Storyline?
KevinCrossmanyeah, few used it. Similar to JohnParkman - people get emailed whether or not they asked for them. I thought VE allowed end users to opt-in to emails but the auto-digest seems to ensure people get emailed within a week.470Views0likes0CommentsHow to Ensure Email Digests are Properly Rendered in Outlook
I was blowing the dust off of my organization's 'All Company' community and, as expected, a handful of staff were emailed about my post . However, the email only included links to the post, instead of fully rendering the post so people could see the content, react and reply. Is there a way to ensure that all emails sent from a community fully render in Outlook? It's a great feature, but it doesn't seem reliable.Re: Is there any kind of email or notification that is pushed when someone uses Storyline?
AllisonMichelsI'm just trying to get a better understanding of how the "VE recommendations engine" works for storylines. For community posts, the email newsletter will automatically share those to all community members eventually via the auto-digest emails. I was wondering if the same applied to Storylines or if they would need manual intervention to get noticed.626Views0likes0CommentsIs there any kind of email or notification that is pushed when someone uses Storyline?
As per the title, I'm wondering if M365 will push out an email or any kind of notification is someone uses Storyline - assuming: no topics were used no one is FOLLOWING the individual no one is mentioned Would the 'Discover what's happening across your organization' auto-digest include storyline posts that no one has seen or engaged with?830Views3likes6CommentsTeams needs an option to allow us to specify what browser it should use
In the nature of "hybrid work", I often work from home on my personal computer. To keep work and personal stuff separate, I use different browsers. Edge for work and Brave for personal stuff. The problem is that Teams will always use my default browser to launch content that I'm not signed-in for. Which means I need to manually grab links and paste them in Edge to move forward. IMO, this makes for a broken user-experience. Lastly, I do realize that I can create a separate Windows profile for my work stuff (which I'm likely to do) but I don't believe that is the appropriate answer, but a workaround.49KViews5likes10CommentsRe: Email Channel Doesn't Work in New Channel UX
Seems to just be my account (admin). I tested this with different account in a different tenant and i was able to send a basic email from outlook. However, this really came up when testing sending SharePoint news to a teams email account (using the new templates).652Views0likes0Comments
