Email Channel Doesn't Work in New Channel UX

Has anyone else found that emails don't go through since the new Team Channel UX was released?  I haven't been able to get this to work for months, even if I delete the old email and create a new one.

      Seems to just be my account (admin). I tested this with different account in a different tenant and i was able to send a basic email from outlook.

      However, this really came up when testing sending SharePoint news to a teams email account (using the new templates).
