Viva Goals Retirement
Hi, Microsoft just announce at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/viva/goals/goals-retirement that Viva Goals ending in December 2025. How do you feel about this announcement? It was one of the top business use cases with significant business value in Viva Suite after Viva Topics deprecation.Alternatives to Viva Goals?
Viva Goals being retired wasn't good news. It put many of us in the community in a pretty tough spot. There is less than a year to find a new OKR software and migrate. We really liked Viva Goals because our team could use it inside Microsoft Teams. Some of the alternatives we are considering switching to are: Teamflect WorkBoard Perdoo All three of these have great Microsoft Teams integration and solid OKR features. We are also considering other alternatives such as Profit Co and Lattice. Any opinions on or experience with these tools?
Is there a way to have an OKR that has no end (time period)
We have a purpose/objective for every role/responsibility a person is assigned to. This helps those role holders understand what they are ultimately working toward. Sort of the ultimate objective at a high level. These are written in a way that really doesn't have an end or completion. Under those we have very specific key results/metrics, that allow us to track progress. We may or may not group these key results further into objectives (these do have an end, so it is easy). I am trying to work out if it is possible to have a time period that doesn't have an end. It is a little cumbersome to have to change the time period on each of these objectives even yearly. There are a bunch of them. My option is to not lists these role style objectives in Viva Goals. But it is currently nice to see how the other objectives and key results link to these purpose statements.
Possibility to adjust the automatic weekly summary?
We have just started to use Viva Goals in our organization and I am one of the admins. We would like to adjust the automated weekly summary that is being sent out via mail. Is that possible? And if yes, where do I find this setting? The only setting I can see is under the "notifications" tab ("summary update rhythm")? Thanks in advance 😄, Fabian
Bulk import of Excel template of OKRs into Viva Goals
In Viva Goals, it states that you can bulk import OKR's using an Excel template that downloads. You cannot make any changes to the template (no renaming or moving columns etc.), just add data. Which I did, but it keeps failing, but it doesn't tell me why it fails or how to fix it. I even added data that was supposed to be "optional". I also ensured that I have the Excel Integrations downloaded. I confirmed how the file format was saved. Could it be that in the Excel template, the Item Type sheet (Objective, Key Result, Project) has different naming properties then what is showing in the trial version that I am using? Under the Admin Dashboard > Custom Terminology, it reads, OKR, Objective, Key Results and Initiative. Could this effect my import? Any help would be much appreciated. Using the OKR template would be very beneficial. Thank you.
Creating A Performance Review with Power Automate leveraging Viva Goals
We are moving away from a HRMS that does performance management and want to use Viva Goals for all of our individual/team/organizational goals. Our organization still has a desire to do paid for performance structure requiring us to find a Performance Review process that we can use with Viva Goals data. Has anyone used Power Automate to create a review process leveraging the Viva Goals data?
Viva Goals not loading in Safari and Firefox Browser
Hi everyone, we started using Viva Goals in our company and multiple people reported that viva goals is not working correctly in Safari and Firefox. Just the header is shown with en empty content. It works fine in other browsers and within Teams. I remember a few month back, when I tests Viva Goals it was still working. Is this a known issue?
