Problem with Outlook classic
Hello, how do I ask for help in this forum about a problem that the support desk seems to have no idea how to fix? My Outlook Classic on my desktop will not open 3rd party links and tells me that my organisation has a policy preventing it happening and to contact my Help Desk but I have a family subscription and no help desk. Even when a person rang me to talk to me after multiple reports, part way through our conversation he just disappeared. I am in Australia so the time difference may be an issue. An example of the problem is that I received a retail company email featuring a link to view their catalogues and my Outlook won't open it because of a policy I never asked for. I don't know if this is the right forum but it's the only one I could find to ask a question on.56Views1like2CommentsAdd-in without Connected Experience
I've developed an Outlook Add-in using the new web tech based approach (not a legacy COM Plugin). One of our customers wants to use said Add-in, but they have the requirement that they can't enable the "Connected Experience" for their Outlook. Is it possible in any way to use an Outlook Add-in without having to enable the "Connected Experience" or is this just not an option?11Views0likes0CommentsOutlook Retrieves Emails But Fails to Put Then Into the Inbox
I have a brand new Dell desktop that replaced a previous Dell desktop computer. I have rebuilt everything on the new computer that was on the old, but have a very strange problem with Outlook. When I click on "Send/Receive", I see at the bottom right of the screen that it is retrieving a bunch of emails from the Gmail server. But upon completion of the retrieval, none of those emails appears in the Inbox. If I click again on "Send/Receive", the process repeats. And since I have set up retrieval to automatically issue the "Send/Receive" every three minutes, this process repeats and repeats, never placing the retrieved emails into the Inbox. I should also comment that the count of the emails only increases, telling me that those emails do not disappear from the server. I am using POP3, not IMAP. I am using Outlook Classic, not the new Outlook. I have been using Outlook for many, many years, and have successfully set up Outlook many, many times. But I am totally baffled by what I am seeing. I would appreciate any suggestions at all. Thank you. Len Jacobson25Views0likes1CommentOutlook emails to Gmail recipients: Get 421-4.7.28 temporary rate limit failure every other mailing
Hello. I am the volunteer IT director for my church. We send out periodic emails to our congregation with announcements from Microsoft 365 Business (Outlook), in which we have set up an email address for our Bluehost domain name. When we do this, there are generally 160 recipients sent bcc, and about 56 of those are Gmail email addresses. When I took over in February, all email sent to Gmail was being blocked because DKIM and DMARC had not been set up on our domain, which I addressed (SPF was already set up). After that was done, the next mailing like this went out fine. Then, about two weeks later, we started getting this error on all mailing like this with for the Gmail recipients: 421-4.7.28 Gmail has detected an unusual rate of mail originating from your SPF 421-4.7.28 domain [<domain name>.com 35]. To protect our users from 421-4.7.28 spam, mail sent from your domain has been temporarily rate limited. After a few weeks passed, another mailing was received without incident to our Gmail recipients. However, the very next one resulted in the error message above again. I have used every checker I can think of (Mxtoolbox, aboutmy.email, and Gmail Postmaster Tools), and they all see no issues with SPF, DKIM, or DMARC. The only thing left I can think of is that even through we in no way send 5,000 emails a day (none of our emails are marketing emails in any way), Gmail seems to be placing the bulk sender rules on us. If this is the case, I have been able to put an in-body unsubscribe link in our emails, but I don't know if the one-click unsubscribe requirement can be accomplished in Microsoft 365 Business. Just looking to see if anyone else has had a similar situation, and knows of a way to resolve this. Also curious if anyone had any information about the one click unsubscribe availability in Outlook outbound emails. Thanks in advance!2.8KViews0likes4CommentsIssues with outlook and teams on android
I'm not sure why, but since yesterday both Teams and Outlook have quit working. I have an S25 Ultra. I attempted to clear data and cache and do a fresh install. Outlook just hangs on a black screen with the notification "optimizing database," and Teams just indefinitely loads. I can't check my personal email or my work email and can't keep track of my work chats on Teams.3.1KViews0likes5CommentsOpening PDF attachments in Outlook to default PDF viewer
My Outlook was updated to the newest version a few days ago and I'm having issues with opening PDF attachments in my default PDF viewer. Before, you could click the attachment in the email and get a preview but if you were to fully open the attachment it would open in my default application. Since the update, when i click on the attachment it pulls up the preview but the only way to actually open it is to save it to OneDrive, download to my computer, or print. In most cases I need to open the full attachment but not necessarily need to save it. Just review in detail and the preview is not working well enough for me. I'm not even able to rotate using the right-click and rotate. How can I change this to open in my default viewer and not in the message preview only?526KViews6likes36CommentsChange from IMAP to Exchange
I been unable to sync my calendar & contacts between Outlook desktop and my Android phone. I am using Microsoft Office 365 on Windows 11 and a Galaxy Z Flip7 FE android phone. My email provider is Gmail with the setup IMAP/SMTP. Apparently, IMAP is the problem, and I need to be on Exchange. How can I switch to Exchange without losing my files, contacts and calendar items? I'm using Outlook 2016 on Windows 11. Beginning on Feb 17, my email spam folder started blowing up with about 40+ spam emails per day, all on "fake medical" topics -- attempting to sell cures for every medical condition that you can think of, and some you would never think of. Then after a couple of weeks, some of them started appearing in my Inbox, not caught by the spam filter. So, I raised my Junk email filter level to High. And whenever an unwanted email still gets through to my Inbox, I put the sender on the Outlook "block sender" list. But emails from one particular sender keep getting through to the Inbox, no matter how many times I block the address. What else can I do?90Views0likes7CommentsInserting tables and formatting in Outlook for web
Please could anyone help with the problem of inserting tables into an e-mail message in the web version of Outlook? The previous workaround of converting the message to HTML has been removed by Microsoft. Now the insert table is permanently greyed out (along with other formatting buttons) There does not seem to be any way of converting the message from plain text to HTML. This is proving to be really frustrating, so any help from the community would be very much appreciated. Working on a laptop running Windows 11.62Views0likes4CommentsTurn of copilot in new outlook
There is a serious problem with Copilot turning itself back on in the new Outlook. I would like to ask Microsoft engineers a simple question: What is the purpose of the Copilot toggle button? What is the point of a button that turns itself back on after 15 minutes? Why are you treating users this way, with such an aggressive approach to software we paid for? The situation is extremely simple: If I turn off Copilot, I also lose the Summarize function — which I never wanted in my email client. I do not want you to offer to read my messages for me and retell them. The Copilot button bothers me, and Copilot itself bothers me. I do not need it. When I turn it off, it comes back. What is the point of this? Are you trying to force people into accepting something they clearly do not want? The only way to disable it is to block content analysis. But if I do that, spell check stops working. That is extremely manipulative. I have no words.1.5KViews15likes14CommentsShared mailbox cannot be pinned to Favorite

Over the last 2 weeks or so, I have been receiving this message when I log into my email account. I haven't been logging in with the wrong information - I have been very careful. The message appears when I sign in via my lap-top and my mobile phone. I have even changed my password and cleared cache. It is causing me significant problems. What is the solution, other than waiting 24-48hrs for it to rectify itself? Thank you.819Views1like4Comments"New" Outlook is not great
I was forced to switch to the new version of Outlook. I have to have it for my job so I have no choice. So many things wrong when compared to the classic version. You would think that MS would migrate all the settings, views, etc. to the new version. But they didn't. -Event/reminder snooze options - now limited to two hours? Now I get reminders every two hours for something I need to snooze for days or weeks like I was able to before. -Contact views - can't view my contacts in the classic table format where I can filter/sort by company name or last name, etc. -Spell check now cleared by left mouse click instead of the usual right click like all other apps have. -No longer can select multiple email attachments like the classic version -Email folders cannot be sorted anymore Again...love Outlook but this new version is not a winner. MS...please bring back all the classic options!935Views6likes19CommentsConditional Formatting to New Outlook Calendar
Please bring Conditional Formatting to the New Outlook Calendar. This is a feature we have in Classic Outlook and something I use regularly to help maintain my organization. I've programmed it to color Work Time separate from Travel Time and various meeting categories so that visually I know a lot about the appointment just by the color.Solved82Views0likes2CommentsNew outlook reinstallation failed

I created an email address for RSVP purposes. I do not remember the password, and cannot find what I wrote it down on, and have never sent an email from it so I cannot provide enough information to recover the account. I am continuing to get a 'You've tried to sign in too many times with an incorrect account of password' error despite recently changing my password. The only way around this is to use my cell phone address to sign in vs. my email address. What do I need to do to 'reset' my account to not have this error message? Thanks1.4KViews2likes5Comments
