"Format picture" has disappeared from Outlook Mac
I use the Outlook app on 3 different MacBooks. Two have recently auto-updated Outlook to version 16.102.2, and I've lost the ability to format a picture in the body of an email. I use lots of screenshots in emails, and always put a border around them to clearly differentiate them from the body text. Right-click the image and select Format Picture from the menu. I can still do it in the third MacBook which is running Outlook version 16.84.2. I don't know if the latest update is meant to be an improvement, but I'm not happy about it! I'll turn off automate updates for the third MacBook. Not sure if I can revert the other two to version 16.84.2 - does anybody know if this is possible. Also wonder if users of the Windows app have experienced the same loss of the Format Picture feature?167Views5likes6CommentsSignificant changes to the New Outlook Calendar Event User Interface
In October 2025, the New Outlook Calendar Event was redesigned to incorporate Copilot, leading to a complete user interface makeover. Many icons were rearranged. New Outlook Scheduling Gets a Makeover - Copilot Chat Joins #traccreations4e-p25 10/29/2025Can't login to Hotmail with Safari, Chrome, or Edge...
This is a major issue that should not exist. Whenever I try to login using one of those 3 browsers, I get the "too many attempts" message. The same thing happens if I try logging in with a private window in any browser. I don't think they can give me any good reason for this happening. It still happens even after clearing the cache/cookies. I can login in just fine with Firefox, even with my extensions enabled. Another issue (and one that I feel is completely stupid on the part of Microsoft), is that when I tried to login to this forum, it was automatically logging me in with the saved business account (only used for website email). It did NOT give me the option to sign in with a different account. So, I had to completely clear the cache/cookies in Firefox to be able to login here (totally ignorant). Why does Microsoft do stupid stuff like this? Are all of their coders so clueless that they never think to give us options? I don't want to automatically sign in with the business account - I only want to sign in with my personal account. It really shouldn't be that hard for them to figure out. If anyone has any ideas on why this is happening, or why Microsoft feels the need to do dumb stuff, let me know. Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. P.S. I see so many sites pushing passkeys now, but I don't want that (and I highly doubt it would fix the above issue(s)). They keep claiming that our passwords are insecure, yet my passwords are not getting hacked - only their servers are.96Views1like1CommentOutlook email display name issue
Hello, I am working with two people called Stephen, from two separate organisations. Their email addresses are both stephen @ companyname.com. I have them both set up as contacts, with their correct surnames, and when I send emails out to them they display correctly as 'Stephen A' and 'Stephen B' in the send to list. But when I receive an email from them, or one they are copied into, Stephen A shows up as Stephen B. I have tried clearly the autocomplete list in Outlook, and deleting and remaking Stephen A's contact card, neither of which has worked. Is there anything else I can try to sort it out?11Views0likes0CommentsCopying "Contact" Lists In Outlook 365
I HATE setting up a new computer!!! With that in mind, I'm struggling to establish contacts/email address as I'd had on my old computer's Outlook 365. Both new and old computer (no longer available) are/were using the latest 365 Office software. What I am trying to replicate is the ability to begin typing a person email address in the TO area, and having suggestions appear. NOTE: I believe that Outlook somehow records addresses used, and these may be part of what drives Outlook to make "suggestions". Though obliviously not all used email addresses appear as a "contact", I'd love to have this data available for use in "suggestions"....but on to my initial issue... I found some "contacts" files which, despite my low tech abilities, I managed to import into my new computer's Outlook (see attached photo). However, I now have three (3) "contact" lists as shown, with only the second and third list containing any entries.....and those entries, while having some similarities, are different. Ideally, I'd like to have the contents of the second and third list combined, and be available within the first list. BTW, when I create a new email, I get no suggestions presented from either of the two lists which contain entries.....I get nothing! MANY thanks in advance!!! On my Outlook 2021 for Windows 11, I have to switch folders to see what new e-mail just came in, if any. For example, I launch Outlook, it connects and does the IMAP sync. The Inbox shows no new e-mail. So, to see if I really do have new, unread email, I have to go to any other folder, wait a second or two for the IMAP sync to finish, then go back to the Inbox. If there are new messages, only after doing that will I see them. Background info: New computer, bought May 2025 because old box couldn't be updated to Windows 11. I don't remember this problem on the old computer. I think it started after I loaded everything on the new computer. A month or so ago, I had an unrelated problem that led me to totally wipe Windows and start over from the Dell image. Reloaded Office 2021 (I believe it is the standalone version, not M365) and this problem continued. There are two e-mail accounts in Outlook, but only one is affected. Both use IMAP. Yahoo.com works just fine. It is Spectrum.net that is having this problem. Anyone have any ideas where to start? And yes, I did verify the Spectrum IMAP settings; I can get and send email just fine. The problem is, new e-mail doesn't display unless I do the dance decribed above.10Views0likes0CommentsTrouble resetting password
My wife is having trouble resetting her password on her outlook account. She’s clicked forgot password And followed it through to the 2 step verification method. Email address goes though ok but when the mobile verification comes up she enters the last 4 didgets of her mobile number and it says this can’t be processed at the moment and to try again at a later time. It’s been like this for 2 weeks now. She’s waited 3 days before trying again but it’s still like this. Is there a number she can call or talk to a human?19Views0likes0CommentsOutlook broke after Office 365 update to 16.0.19328.20158 – cannot open emails Windows Server 2016
Hello everyone, posting to report that after the latest automatic update to Microsoft Office 365 version 16.0.19328.20158, we are experiencing a critical issue on multiple company machines running Windows Server 2016: The Outlook desktop application launches normally, but when trying to open any email, the following error appears: “There was a problem opening this item... The text formatting command is not available... Reinstall Microsoft Outlook.” Launching Outlook in safe mode (Outlook /safe) does not help. Creating the FORMS2 folder (suggested workaround) does not fix it. Attempting a downgrade via OfficeC2RClient.exe fails with error 30183-27 (400). Quick/online repair from Control Panel also has no effect. In our environment, this issue appeared simultaneously on many workstations and servers, right after the Office update today. Temporary solution: We are instructing users to access their mail via Outlook Web App (OWA), which is not affected by this bug. We would like to know: If others have experienced this bug with this build, including on Windows Server 2016 If any working workaround exists, or an official fix timeframe from Microsoft Thanks to anyone who can share their experience or updates!1.3KViews1like6CommentsOutlook web shows my calendar - make it stop

Hello, In my company some emails we receive are being compressed with no formatting at all, so it is one continuous paragraph. Other companies are receiving emails with the same formatting. I decided to clean out my contacts in outlook, so I exported them all out to a .csv file and then I deleted all 1,200 of them (100 at a time, because apparently microsoft feels that any higher amount would be bad...). Then I spent a few hours in excel combining, consolidating and deleting them down into about 600 contacts. When I went back into outlook and clicked on people, to my surprise all 1,200 of my original contacts were right there again as if I'd done nothing. I figured that some other device must be restoring (through some normal synching process), so I turned off **REMOVED** computers and phones that I've ever used to access outlook). Then I deleted all of the contacts once more, this time using the OWA webpage with my local outlook completely closed. Unfortunately, the exact same thing happens. After repeating that process several more times last night, I shut down my laptop and went to bed. I got up this morning, opened my local outlook app, clicked on people and there were no contacts there at all. For about 5 seconds I was happy, until all 1,200 of them instantly popped right back up like a really bad joke or a dream. Something either on my computer or (I suspect) on microsoft outlook servers is automatically forcing a complete restore of all my contacts. Two side notes: 1) I can create/add and delete single contacts and those changes seem to stick, and 2) I can delete all contacts except a single one and that seems to stick, and 3) I can import my cleaned up .csv file containing 600 contacts back into outlook (with only the one single remaining contact in there), it says that all 600 contacts have been successfully imported, and then within minutes - all 1,200 contacts are back right where they were in the beginning. The truly frustrating part about this issue (and most companies these days), is that IF the customers could possibly **REMOVED** about it so that we can simply continue to make and sell more stuff. It's very sadSolved100Views0likes9CommentsOutlook 365 (classic) freezes syncing subscribed folders via IMAP
Win 11 home, with all current updates. Outlook 365 (365) Version 2510 Build 16.0.19328.20010) 64-bit; with all current updates. ISP: telusplanet.net (which is Google, with limited functionality), Servers: imap.gmail.com, port 993, SSL/TSL and smtp.gmail.com, port 465, SSL/TSL Protocol: IMAP. I was using POP before without any problems for years. The problem: When starting OL it downloads new mail messages OK. But after a while it freezes in ‘Synchronizing Inbox’ or rarely ‘Synchronizing Trush’ and does not download new messages from the server (which are visible in Gmail on Chrome) nor delete messages from the server, which were deleted locally. When this happens, to get it back, I need to shut OL down, wait, say 15 min, or longer, start it again and usually it is enough, occasionally I need to shut down and power the PC again. I have not uninstalled and reinstalled OL yet but am thinking of it. I use IMAP to sync mail, and Sync2 for contacts, calendar, and tasks – that works OK. I have tried just about anything possible, rebuilding profile, repairing OL, clearing cache, unlinking OneDrive, whatever I could think of, or what Copilot suggested, all to no avail. It is obviously very annoying. I believe, if it is happening to me, it must have had happened to others as well. It all started after switching from POP to IMAP. Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated, Jan168Views0likes4CommentsAzure Credits redeeming for Power BI licenses?

I have a user with an Android device trying to get Outlook for Android to work. She has the latest version, we've uninstalled/rebooted/reinstalled, cleared all devices from her mailbox in O365, cleared cache, tried cell connection/Wifi, and we don't have any restrictive MDM or MAM rules. When she tries to login it says "Login Error, The connection to your mail server timed out. Please check your mail settings." Unfortunately with the app you can't check the settings to verify and when she tries the Support Link it just spins and she can't get assistance. Ideas?217KViews1like46Comments
