No longer able to "Find related messages in this conversation" in Outlook Preview
I used to use the "Find related messages in this conversation" and "Find messages from Sender" several times a day. These options seem to have gone now. Can they be reactivated, or has this feature been removed now? The new Outlook no longer supports direct drag & drop of email attachments into browser-based apps like SharePoint or OneDrive. In the classic Outlook, this worked seamlessly, but now we have to go through the desktop as a workaround – an unnecessary extra step that significantly slows down our workflow. Please restore this essential feature! Many businesses and power users rely on drag & drop for efficient work, and this limitation is a major downgrade.7.3KViews60likes17CommentsCannot preview txt and html email attachments in Outlook 2019 x64
Hello, when I try to preview a txt or html attachment in Outlook 2019 x64 (on Win 10 20H2 x64) email I've got an error: This file cannot be previewed because of an error with the following previewer: Windows TXT previewer (Html Previewer) To open this file in its own program, double-click it. And it is ok with xlsx, docx, pdf and images previews. PreviewHandlers key is in the Registry and seems to be ok. Also I have no previews at all (blank preview without any text, except images and videos) in Explorer Preview pane (for what it's worth).1.9KViews0likes2CommentsNew Outlook: Creating Rules for CC: and Sent Items (Workaround solution)
Many users have said they miss one of Outlook Classic's features: the ability to create rules for sent items. One popular use is automatically moving a Sent item to a designated folder, reducing the time it takes to handle email. Currently, rules in New Outlook manage received messages in the Inbox. This blog provides details. New Outlook Limitations: Outgoing Message Rules » TRACCreations4E I am happy to share that I have finally come up with a workaround to add a copy of the message you sent to a folder of your choice. Yes, the original message will remain in the Sent folder, but you don't have to move it manually. This method should hold you over until Microsoft rolls out the functionality for "Sent rules," which has not been added to the roadmap. I am also waiting patiently for the Sent Rules functionality. Hi there, We are a hybrid Office 365 (desktop apps, intune, defender) and Google workspace (emails, files, calling). we have been using Google outlook (GWSMO) for years and it has always been problematic. late in 2024 we were happy that classic outlook can connect to gmail using oauth2 natively without using the addin, but calendar synch and contacts synch did not exist. Earlier this year we were happy that the new outlook has solved this problem and started to migrate our users to the new outlook from may 2025. Really happy about that. Our outlook version currently is: Microsoft Outlook Version: 1.2025.806.300 (Production) Client Version: 20250822005.29 WebView2 Version: 139.0.3405.125 What we have been noticing recently is that some users are getting delayed emails that can be a couple of hours. We have also noticed that when toggling offline mode to off (or on) they are getting delivery errors saying it cannot be delivered. after a few attempts it goes through but a draft copy stays in the outbox. We have seen a similar issue in a forum about delayed email here and we will try the options given as well doing the obvious by pressing the sync button: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook_com/forum/all/new-outlook-not-syncing-with-gmail-no-error/e97349d3-27dc-4313-b905-2657b0a36784 what I would like to do is see if we can get the logs from outlook for connections. Does anyone know where that is stored?977Views0likes11CommentsSort folders in New Outlook
Hi all, New to the forum, so apologies if this has been asked (I could not find an answer by searching). In classic outlook I could sort subfolder by right click on the parent folder and sort A-Z. In fact, when I 'move' a folder, it goes to the top of the new folder, and does not seem to be a way to manually sort it. Is there a way to sort subfolders (A-Z is preference, but if that can't happen, then manually), in New Outlook?Solved49KViews8likes24CommentsCan't collapse all groups in new Outlook?
Hi, I just downloaded the new Outlook app to try and I don't see a way to collapse all groups nor could I find anything in the help menu. Is this not possible with the new version? I have a lot of email in my accounts so this is concerning and I'm hoping that I'm just missing something. Since this will likely be a mandatory upgrade I would like to know. Thanks in advance.36KViews13likes42CommentsSeriously, with Full Screen Messages
Stopped using Outlook a year ago over the fact that when you click on a message it only opens about a quarter of the screen. Thought by now it would be fixed. What gives? Don't want to go back to old Outlook on PC as it's slow and hangs in the background and you have to kill it in Task Manager all the time. Any fixes for getting messages to open full screen? Appreciate any ideas and thoughts.6Views0likes0CommentsSynchronization issue in New Outlook for Mac – ״Failed to refresh subscriptions.״
Hello, I am using Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) on Mac, running macOS 26.1 (Tahoe). My Outlook client is: Outlook for Mac Version 16.103.3 (25113013), with a Microsoft 365 Subscription license. Since yesterday morning, in the New Outlook interface, my inbox has suddenly appeared empty, and I constantly receive the following error message: “Failed to refresh subscriptions.” It’s important to note: In Legacy Outlook, everything works perfectly. The web version and the Outlook app on my mobile phone also work well. The issue persists regardless of the network I am on (home, office, cellular, etc.). Troubleshooting steps I already tried: • Updating Outlook to the latest version • Removing and re‑adding the account • Clearing cache and preferences • Formatting my Mac and reinstalling everything from scratch Unfortunately, none of these steps has resolved the issue. Is this a known bug, and is there a recommended workaround or an upcoming fix? Appreciate assistance on that issue.105Views0likes2CommentsHow to view 2 weeks in new calendar
This was so easy in the old calendar. All I did was hold the CTRL button and highlight the days I needed to view, I would then be able to see 2 weeks on my screen and all the details of each day within that 2 week timeframe. I have tried everything in the new outlook and cannot figure out how to do this. Please help??? Hello moderators and Outlook support leads, I have forgotten my account password. Account recovery email is obsolete and unreachable. SMS password-reset does not deliver the code to my phone number. If you can re-trigger SMS reset to my registered number, that is sufficient for me to change the password. Can my existing recovery attempt be escalated for a human identity review? I can prove ownership with inbox subjects and contacts if needed. Kind regards, T Jansen37Views0likes2CommentsAnyone else hate the New Desktop Outlook?.
Hello people I was wondering if anyone else Hated the Desktop version of Outlook?. To me its slower and unresponsive compared to previous versions. Even Windows Mail was faster and the brings up old email accounts that you deleted and no longer use long ago. It seems while good intentions this one has not been tested properly. Just shoved out the door. And lastly trying to find Emails that your sent or received is another nightmare. You have to restart twice before it finally decides oh look there emails.4.5KViews34likes52CommentsUnable to recover my personal outlook email account
Hi Team, I have a personal outlook email account, unfortunately I forgot my password and try to use forgot password. Seems I need to 2 step verification and I can complete first step using mobile number OTP but there is no option to complete second verification. When I try to recover with my second mobile got error as this method is not working. I have filled up the recovery form more than 15-20 times but no response from the Microsoft team. What is the other option to recover my account? Thanks!23Views0likes1CommentLocked out of hotmail
I successfully changed my password 3 weeks ago. I still cannot get into my hotmail because upon entering my password, it wants to send a security code to my OLD phone number. There's no option to change the destination of the code. In my account details, it shows my NEW phone number. I've tried numerous ways to contact outlook support to no avail. 800-642-7676 recorded voice gives me the address of "support website," which tells me to log into my hotmail account for help! Duh. Another number, 843-894-7676 reached a guy who said "wrong number" and hung up. Can anyone help, please???144KViews0likes3CommentsCustom Search Folders in New Outlook
Does anyone know how to create Custom Search Folders in the new Outlook? At this point I only see a couple of standard searches. In the previous version of Outlook used Custom Search Folders: 1. To create a folder of messages with a specific Label 2. To create a folder to find all messages sent on a specific date. Does anyone know if this is possible? Or how I would go about to use the two described filters? At this point I also can't seem to be able to filter the inbox on Label.2.4KViews2likes7Comments
