Recall email sent using the Sharepoint share feature
Accidentally shared a site via Sharepoint to a group. In Outlook on the web, in my Sent folder, the message appears as if I had sent it from Outlook. I used the 'Recall message' button on the ribbon and selected 'Only recall this message'. I don't knoew what is expected normal response after clicking OK in this window, but it simply closed the window and nothing else changed. It makes wonder if an email sent this way cannot be recalled?Solved21Views0likes1CommentSender logo in email
Some of the emails I received in new Outlook had a logo from the sender inserted above the message. To stop this behavior go to Settings > Message handling > Shopping and uncheck For shopping-related messages, show a sender logo and relevant links in the message header. Make sure to Save your changes.Solved41Views0likes2CommentsOutlook Scam EMail

Hi. I upgraded a friend from Office 2016 to Office 2024 and in the process lost her contacts. I have worked at finding them but no luck. Plan B is populate her contact list from her messages. Is it possible to either collect addresses from a set of emails and move those addresses to the contact list? Or even just go to each message individually and right-click on an address and send to contacts? (not an option now) Or can you suggest any other option? Thanks.Solved65Views0likes4CommentsIssue with emails being delayed when sent
Good Morning, I am working with a user who is sending emails, but they are being delivered a week or in one case two weeks later. She is not using Delayed Send\Delivery, that was the first thing I asked, or at least she said she didn't. This is not all the time and we were not able to replicate while I was on a call with her. What she is doing... Open a document in MS Word to fill out a report and Save it. Share the document, attach a copy instead and choose PDF. This opens, the email window, add the recipients and hits send Let's say for example she does this a 2pm on 12/4 Her sent items in Webmail show it was sent from her mailbox at this time. Recipients might receive it a week later on 12/11 at 11am Message traces in Exchange Online console show the delivered on this date, and her sent items in the Outlook Classic version on the desktop show the 12/11 date as well. My question would be, besides Delayed send, any thoughts as to what might cause emails to sit undelivered and then just be released a week later? I even checked our backup software and looked at the backup for her mailbox during the timeframe of it being sent vs. delivered to see if there was something in her Drafts or Outbox, but I did not see anything there. She says she did not do delayed send and I can't prove she didn't. In the interim, I did suggest she put a delivery receipt on these emails since they are time sensitive and need to be delivered weekly, so if she does send it and does not get the Delivered receipt, we can take a look right away. Thoughts or suggestions... Thank YouSolved131Views0likes2CommentsDeleting Outlook app from 365 Business
I have a Microsoft 365 Business Basic account and want to remove the Outlook app. My business email account is managed by my web host. I'm thinking it's ok to remove the app from 365 but just checking if it will cause any issues. As mentioned it is connected to my web hosting account. I decided to clean out my contacts in outlook, so I exported them all out to a .csv file and then I deleted all 1,200 of them (100 at a time, because apparently microsoft feels that any higher amount would be bad...). Then I spent a few hours in excel combining, consolidating and deleting them down into about 600 contacts. When I went back into outlook and clicked on people, to my surprise all 1,200 of my original contacts were right there again as if I'd done nothing. I figured that some other device must be restoring (through some normal synching process), so I turned off **REMOVED** computers and phones that I've ever used to access outlook). Then I deleted all of the contacts once more, this time using the OWA webpage with my local outlook completely closed. Unfortunately, the exact same thing happens. After repeating that process several more times last night, I shut down my laptop and went to bed. I got up this morning, opened my local outlook app, clicked on people and there were no contacts there at all. For about 5 seconds I was happy, until all 1,200 of them instantly popped right back up like a really bad joke or a dream. Something either on my computer or (I suspect) on microsoft outlook servers is automatically forcing a complete restore of all my contacts. Two side notes: 1) I can create/add and delete single contacts and those changes seem to stick, and 2) I can delete all contacts except a single one and that seems to stick, and 3) I can import my cleaned up .csv file containing 600 contacts back into outlook (with only the one single remaining contact in there), it says that all 600 contacts have been successfully imported, and then within minutes - all 1,200 contacts are back right where they were in the beginning. The truly frustrating part about this issue (and most companies these days), is that IF the customers could possibly **REMOVED** about it so that we can simply continue to make and sell more stuff. It's very sadSolved260Views0likes9CommentsSee all quicksteps in ribbon

New Outlook limits features to Microsoft Exchange/Outlook.com/Hotmail.com email accounts which is bad for my long time business POP account. Since converting I discovered the below limited Support for POP. Can't use: -Rules -Pins -Categorize The Flags feature — I only see flagged email older than 2 weeks). I have tried manually using "isflagged:true" and the default Flagged Saved Search. I need to mark important emails in some way. Since the above are not working does anyone have other suggestions?Solved186Views0likes4CommentsRun rule now is grayed out
My rules in Outlook are grayed out again. The part of manual execution. And this status has been remained for at least 3 days. I encountered this circumstance before like few months ago and here we go again. My account is personal account (Outlook.com). When I use Microsoft Outlook for Mac, Version 16.101 (25091314), to see my rules and wanna execute one of the rules, it's greyed out, a.k.a, cannot be executed. When I open a browser, say Edge, (Version 140.0.3485.66 (Official build) (arm64)), the same status as well. My findings so far: All of rules that will categorize email cannot be executed manually now. Rules that will delete emails can be executed manually. It's manual execution that won't work. Coming emails will still be categorized by the rules automatically. Any clue how to solve this? Or somewhere is wrong internally in the system so far?Solved3.3KViews14likes20CommentsOutlook signature is sometimes enlarged
Hi. I'm using Office version 2508, and my default signature is built using a table with our company logo and my contact information (see attached). This typically works fine, but occasionally when I get a reply from someone my signature is much larger than it should be. In the attached you'll see how it normally looks at the top, and then how it looks when this contact replied to me. This may not be an Outlook problem, but does anyone have a suggestion on how to prevent this? Thanks.Solved113Views0likes2CommentsMass emails
Good afternoon, I help manage an organization for Special Needs Children and Adults. We sponsor adapted Sports activities as a way to build relationships, teach teamwork, and self-esteem. I set up a separate email for the group from which I am attempting to send group emails. These emails go to anywhere from 50 to 250 users. I manage the list outside of Outlook: I create character strings of email addresses using excel and paste them into the BCC: line in Outlook. I am using the new Outlook. Recently, that user (an outlook.com user) is blocked frequently and I have to go in and revalidate it. The message I get says I am violating the usage rules, but it does not tell me how. I was going to look at a CRM system, but that adds a ton of baggage: all is want to do is send emails. Does anyone have any ideas for how to accomplish what I am trying to do? I have names and addresses in an excel file and if I knew how I could do a mass import into Outlook. I would do that if it would fix the problem. I would appreciate any input. I have a copy of the datafile from Outlook (connected to a Google mail account with IMAP setup) I then installed a new SSD harddisk on the machine and installed Windows 10 from scratch ! UNFORTUNATELY the LOCAL user on the old Windows 10 setup was named "toves" and I the new setup I named the local user "Tove Sørensen" I think that's why Outlook in the new setup WONT run on the copy from BEFORE installing the new SSD harddisk. A message saying something like - translated from DANISH: Outlook can't run because the datafile is for another mail account ! ( It's the SAME e-mail address I used in both cases and the data file has the same name ! ) How can I RENAME the LOCAL user to "toves" and will it cure the problem ?Solved99Views0likes2CommentsReducing mailbox size
I'm using outlook with Office 365 and I'm getting close to my mailbox limit. Currently I have over 68k emails, some dating bask to 2012 in my main box which is over 90% of my storage capacity. I don't want to mass delete emails, but happy to 'remove' emails prior to 2025 form my daily inbox and even move them to file storage. Whats my best options here as I believe just using the archive box doesn't reduce my mail box size and just copying them to a folder in SharePoint but I don't have a way to sort them in to the the date of when the email was received/sent.Solved72Views0likes1CommentOutlook rules not syncing across devices, am I missing something obvious ?
I am experiencing an issue with Outlook inbox rules not syncing across devices, and I'm trying to figure out if I'm missing out a key configuration or limitation. This is the situation : I have several inbox rules ( eg move messages from specific senders to folders, auto-forward certain emails) on my desktop Outlook client ( Windows, Microsoft 365 subscription). They work perfectly on that machine. But when I open Outlook on the web (OWA) or on my mobile devices, those rules don't show up completely or at times they don't run consistently... Here's what I've checked ; 1. I'm using a Microsoft 365 Business standard account ( exchange online) 2. Rules were created in Outlook desktop app ( File > Manage Rules & Alerts) Cached Exchange Mode is enabled. The rules are client-only according to the UI, but I thought some rules could be server-side if basic enough? On OWA, when I go to Settings > Mail > Rules, it's either empty or doesn't show all the rules I created on desktop. If I create rules in the desktop app shouldn't they sync to other clients ( OWA, mobile), or are they local by default ? What is the difference between client-side and server-side rules in terms of syncing and functionality ?Solved513Views5likes5Comments
