Issues with Copilot Supposedly after Edge update
Hi everyone, Since last night I’ve been having trouble with MS Copilot on the web (using Edge on Windows 11). The problems seemed to start right after Edge updated and walked me through the “getting started” prompts. Here’s what I’ve noticed: When I try to upload a document, a pop‑up asks me to sign in (even though I’m already signed in with my Outlook account). Neither “Sign in” nor “Maybe later” does anything. As a workaround, I pasted content directly into the chat box. Copilot produced an output, but it opened in a split pane that looked like a word processor. The chat window was squeezed to the right, and I couldn’t close the pane without restarting the browser. Restarting cleared the pane but also erased my conversations. I know Copilot doesn’t always retrieve disrupted chats, but until now, I’ve usually been able to recall past conversations by asking it to keep memory. Overall, the look and feel of Copilot seemed to change suddenly, and I couldn’t find any option to revert it. Frequent disconnections (This can be attributed to network connection, I am using my home Internet), but if it were, it was not mine. My home network and Internet were just fine. I’m not sure if things are back to normal yet. As a devoted Copilot user, I rely on it daily, and this disruption has been frustrating. I also use ChatGPT, but Copilot is my primary tool since I can’t afford extended sessions elsewhere due to steep subscription costs. I couldn’t find an existing thread on this issue — is anyone else experiencing the same thing after the Edge update? Thanks, Moris10Views0likes1CommentOEM Activation
Recently upgraded my SSD and whenever I try to reactivate windows 11 on the fresh install, the troubleshooter fails. Is there any sure fire way to contact support to see about them possibly reactivating my license? Better go ahead and add it is a legit activation of windows 11.30Views0likes2CommentsMicrosoft finally admits almost all major Windows 11 core features are broken
A major new Windows 11 update has introduced widespread stability issues affecting core system functionality. Many users, including myself, are now experiencing frequent and disruptive problems like File Explorer crashes, slow performance, taskbar glitches, and Bluetooth failures, which together make the operating system frustratingly unreliable for daily use.11KViews2likes5Comments- 356Views0likes2Comments

Configure Macrium to automatically an encrypted drive
I have an encrypted data partition which is part of a scheduled backup plan which of course works fine if the back runs while the PC is awake and I've unlocked the encrypted drive Previously to the PC being rebuilt Macrium woke the PC if necessary to complete a backup and all was well Therefore, I assume that Macrium was somehow configured with the Bitlocker password to automatically unlock the encrypted partition I found an old printout of the command "$SecureString = ConvertTo-SecureString "<password>" -AsPlainText -Force; Unlock-BitLocker -MountPoint "<drive letter>:" -Password $SecureString" but obviously with the relevant password and drive letter substituted Anyone know how I configure Macrium with the above command to automatically unlock the drive in the event that the PC is woken up for the backup task?15Views0likes1CommentTrying to MSIX package LOB application that needs TWAIN access
So I think this isn't possible but I just wanted to ask. I've a LOB application that needs to access TWAIN scanning devices. How this works in a normal environment is that the TWAINDSM.dll (TWAIN Data source manager) is loaded from c:\windows\system32 This then scans the C:\Windows\twain_32 or C:\Windows\twain_64 depending on if the app is x86 or x64 The scanning manufacturers will have their TWAIN drivers installed to c:\windows\twain_32 (or 64) as subfolders and the TWAIN Data source manager scans these subfolders for available TWAIN devices that can be connected to. All this breaks down in an MSIX environment because the container doesn't have access to C:\windows\twain_32\ManfactureDriverN folder It can see the folders and when the TWAINDSM tries to initialize the driver it fails, most likely due to sandbox limitations. Does anyone know of a solution to this, or apps like this will always need to stick to MSI packaging because of this limiation. Thanks.3Views0likes0CommentsSlow Printing HP Futuresmart 5.9.0.2
Hello everyone, I am testing Universal Print with an HP MFP running Futuresmart 5.9.0.2, and overall I find it quite interesting 😀 However, it is extremely difficult to get support from printer manufacturers, and there is very little feedback or shared experience available 😢 During my tests, I noticed internal processing delays (=DownloadTime–FinalTime) on the HP MFP that vary without any apparent Reason (printing PDF from W11/EDGE and content-type is Application/PDF). In addition, I observed significant differences in internal processing time for certain documents (such as plans) between Universal Print Cloud printing and direct TCP/IP 9100 printing. The delay increases from 2 minutes of processing to 3 minutes. I contacted HP support, but it is very complicated to get assistance regarding Universal Print. Do you have any insights? How should I proceed? Thank you in advance, and have a great day ☀️75Views0likes4CommentsDay of week in taskbar
When am I getting day of the week on my task bar? I just payed 150 dollars for an OS without basic capabilities. I've seen something referencing a white screen where you can input dddd. This has been removed and now only has a pull down with the selected options already in the normal settings. Why are they removing features from the operating systems.21Views0likes2CommentsHow to upgrade from Windows 10 to 11 with a clean install of Windows 11?
Hi, I have a Windows 10 PC that has the requirements to be upgraded to Windows 11. I would like to do a complete clean install of Windows 11 and then reinstall all my software. If I understand this correctly, I will in this case have my Windows 10 registration key at hand to be able to make a clean Windows 11 installation on the same computer. I do have a registration key for Windows 10, which I think belongs to this computer. Is there any way that I can verify that this registration key actually belongs to this computer? Or can I do a clean installation of Windows 11 on this computer anyway (without first verifying that the Windows 10 belongs to this computer)?4Views0likes0CommentsRandom files not opening in fresh Windows 10 Enterprise installation
Hi folks, been a long time since I visited here, I hope everyone is doing well and has happy holidays this year. So I have a Windows 10 enterprise, installation and: 1 I turned off a lot of analytics in this install, all before I turned on the internet access. 2) Now when I click on some random files (but not every file), I get a quick small blank popup for a fraction of a second, and the file doesn't open. (this was happening before I turned the internet on, and is still happening afterwards). 3) One of the files that was blinking out was throwing a Microsoft popup from the right side of the screen and when I clicked on it, it said Windows was not allowing it to run, so I click on that window and turned that one off. Well the random files keep shutting down anyway. Anyone here have a fix or at least an explanation for what might be happening?11Views0likes0CommentsWhich USB or network device to disable power-saving shut-off for when transferring files?
I'm trying to transfer a lot of files (tens of gigabytes at this point, but it could be hundreds) over a network from one USB-connected drive on a laptop to another one (of each). However, I come back to the desk (after the screen has gone to sleep) after a long while (like, 1-10 hours), and the transfer has stopped with an error that the network is disconnected or the remote laptop isn't on the network anymore or the drive doesn't exist or the file doesn't exist The laptops are configured to never go to sleep or hibernate automatically while plugged in (as they both are). Also on one of the devices, it loses WiFi connection when I wake the screen after hours. I've tracked down the problem to likely be Windows' device settings to shut-off the device for power-saving reasons after a set time period of not using the device (like when I walk away from the computer). The timeout is apparently not related to the typical power settings based on keyboard and mouse usage, but is within its own arbitrarily-determined Microsoft realm. It's absurd that Microsoft would program Windows to stop ongoing file transfers with power-saving features on plugged-in devices... it just goes against what the user is trying to do. When I follow instructions to disable the power-saving feature for the devices, so that large transfers can complete in the background over hours or days (I've never had the issue with Linux), I can't tell which devices to change. There's a long list in Network and USB devices (in Device Manager) that looks like gobbledygook to me for the most part. I don't want to toggle one that I don't need to then have an issue. I'll try to paste screenshot examples below from the computer I'm on right now.11Views0likes0CommentsSystem Error: nctfmon.exe

Hello, I work for a company in which it would be extremely valuable to be able to transcribe voicemail messages from my Avaya IP phone to text. The I.T. department says these phones do not have this ability. However, I know the voicemail messages can be converted to a Windows Media player audio file, and that file can be emailed to an employee. I'm wondering if anyone has step by step instructions for converting a Windows Media Player audio file to transcribed text ??? That would be so helpful! Thank you if you can offer any advice.494Views0likes2CommentsSome icons missing in the taskbar in Windows 10
