Hello, Please advise when creating Msix packages, how can I set different product names to be shown in the: Start Menu > Applications < My Product > vs Settings > Apps < My Product Pro > Generally, in which fields these 2 names are set? Hello. I encountered a rather specific problem on the latest version of Canary 27842, although it did not appear immediately after installing this build, but only yesterday after updating Copilot, Microsoft 365 (via Store) and Armoury Crate. Namely, after these updates I lost connection to the Microsoft 365 service (information appeared about the loss of validity of credentials along with logging out of this service). Every attempt to log in to it now ends with error 2604 or 2603 (I am attaching screenshots), regardless of the Internet network through which I try to connect. What's more, a similar situation also occurred on my laptop, which has the same problems. An attempt to reinstall the package did not solve the problem, similarly to an attempt to remove old credentials in the administration panel. All this happens despite correct login to the system via a Microsoft account, correct login to the Microsoft account in the browser and generally no other connection problems. The problem concerns only Microsoft 365. I noticed something interesting because when I tried to run the Microsoft 365 troubleshooter, it did not uninstall, but when I tried to run it, I got information about the possibility of running the NVidia overlay, which is quite strange (this message generally only appears when starting games). Another thing is that when I try to verify the service account through the troubleshooter application - I get a message that the account cannot be verified. I also tried: online package repair service from the Windows administration panel, but despite the completion of the process, the problem still exists; creating a new profile and trying to run the package on it (from the new profile) and this also did not work. If any of you have or had similar problems - please let me know.Did expediting the 2024-08 Quality Updates fail for anyone else?
Due to the CVE-2024-38063 vulnerability, we attempted to use the Expedited Quality Updates feature to enforce the immediate installation of the 2024-08 security updates. Unfortunately, the feature simply did not work. Even a couple weeks after deploying the expedited update profile, we had about 25% of our Windows endpoints still in "Pending" status, most of which were powered on 24/7. We still have ConfigMgr in our environment, so I used CMPivot to run a query for events in the System log with "2024-08" in the message. This showed me that rather than installing the update and forcing a restart one day later as configured, the update was being installed, then reverted about ten hours later, then immediately re-installed again, over and over: If I manually initiated a restart on any of the affected machines, the update was successfully finalized, so the issue wasn't a failure to install the update. I've opened a case with Microsoft Support, but it is progressing slowly. If nobody else is seeing the issue, I will throw in the towel, but if it's more widespread, I think it is worth fighting to get this fixed (assuming that Microsoft isn't already aware and has simply chosen not to publicize it — for example, in the Windows release health blade in the MIcrosoft 365 Admin Center).
Windows Boots to Black screen, NO Desktop, taskbar, start ,menu
Starting yesterday after a cumulative update installed in windows update, I started having an issue where I couldn't access zip files because the instant I would click or right click on one it would crash explorer and cause it to restart. I could open them by starting 7zip or winrar manually but oddly enough if I tried opening them as admin to extract to a protected directory it would again crash explorer and cause it to restart Yesterday I attempted fixing it with sfc /scannow which did find and fix some errors but did nothing to fix the problem I was chasing, so I gave up and put it off to the next day. The update is the only notable change I could think of to attribute the problem to so today I tried to use system restore to roll back the changes and that failed, twice, and on the second time when windows rebooted, it went to a black screen, with the dialog box open saying that the restore had failed, but nothing else ever started. Thinking it had perhaps started in safe mode, I used ctrl/alt/delete to log out and restarted from there, only to return to the same black screen. So now using ctrl/alt/delete to gain access to the taskmanager is the only way I'm able to get an instance of explorer to open so I can open a browser etc. and is the only way I'm able to use the computer at all now. I tried once more to run the sfc /scannow command but it found nothing. I don't know how to start the settings app manually, if it's even able to start at all, to be able to know what build I'm on or what the update number was that started this, so I'm afraid I'm not really able to provide much to go on in that regard. All I know for sure is i must get this rig back into some kind of usable form in order to comb through it and pull out all the things that must be backed up if a OS reinstall is my only way forward, so any help to get my desktop environment back would be a HUGE help and greatly appreciated.Completely get rid of "Group By" anywhere in File Explorer
As my title says I wish to Completely get rid of "Group By" anywhere in File Explorer. I've tried many things but to no avail. At the moment I am noticing one folder inparticular that constantly resets to a group by date, even though it displays (None) as selected. This folder is my download folder whose path was changed to a folder on an alternate drive. Is there a way to DISABLE Group by for any file/folder on the computer? I have Windows 11 Pro (24H2) updated to present.
prevent Windows 11 desktop auto sort
Simple problem. If I have folders top left going down in desktop, and I then paste a new folder which alphabetically goes before the top left folder, it will automatically take this spot and move the rest down. How to prevent it? I would rather it going at the last position to not mess my ordering.
Windows 11 Gateway error
Hi All I would like to share and get support from you, in my company is have mix notebook brand ( Dell, HP, lenovo ) our network is provide DHCP IPv4 to user, and we not provide admin permission to user, since FEB 2025 we got many incident about user can not connect internet both when they at office or they work from their home, first I investigate issue we got these information is in office ==> user connect wifi at office but on default gateway is set to "192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1"( there home internet ) we sure that user note have permission to static gateway but other like IP address and DNS server is got correct information from DHCP Server in their home ==> user report can not connect internet on their home wifi , we found their computer is static gateway to 10.2.x.254 ( that is gateway of our office network ) but other set thing like IP address , DNS server is get ip address from their local router for work around we used local admin permission to run "ipconfig /release" ,"ipconfig /renew" is fix issue, but I need to know why it happend. I already check GPO and registry , it not have any static ip address setting, but one thing that I found more 90% of computer that got these issue is inplace upgrade from windows 10 to windows 11 so anyone found same these problem, and are you know a root cause of these would like your support to share to meLooking for drivers for Dell dimension 2400 for windows 3.1
Hello, so I saw a video on YouTube where this guy was able to install windows 3.1 on the Dell dimension 2400. I know it can run it because I saw the video of him running it. I need, chipset drivers, graphics drivers, sound drivers and networking drivers for the dell dimension 2400. Anybody got any links or drivers for the machine?Very strange situation in Windows when delete files
I am very disappointed, I need help from you, if possible. I have a Windows computer and I wanted to delete many files from an archive located in partition D, my Windows has two partitions, C and D. There were around 80 thousand files in that folder, in several subfolders and to select them only by files and without folders, to check them, I used folder explorer .*. as a search option, if you know how to do this or what it means, otherwise I'll explain again, English is not my native language, sorry 🙁. And I right-clicked and deleted them with a program called File Shredder, with a blue trash can as an icon, but I noticed that instead of deleting files from that folder that I wanted and ask program to delete from/ in partition D, it showed me instead that it started deleting automatically my Desktop files from partition C, without selecting that or asking to do that deleting operation. How could this happen? What happened and why, in this situation? What can be done in this case? How is it possible to delete from the desktop when I was in partition E and I wanted to delete the files from there, which had nothing to do with the desktop in partition C. How can I recover deleted data from the Desktop? How can I see what was deleted recently from the Desktop or from Windows? What caused this error? Does this program called File Shredder have a log somewhere?, so I can see what it deleted last time or when it deleted that data from the desktop? Or where can I see in Windows what was deleted last time from the computer? How can I see exactly everything it managed to delete from the Desktop? Or maybe from other parts, because I was not able to see everything it started to delete, until after a while when I looked more carefully and saw that the path that program deleting files, was C and Desktop, not that folder in partition D which/ where I selected inside files for deleting process, using this program. And can I still recover the lost data? And if so, how can I recover my data deleted from the desktop by this application? And is there any program that will prevent me from deleting any file or folder in the future by mistake? Thank you very much! I have some important files on a USB flash drive, including data sheets and photos. Before giving away, I want to make sure the files won't be seen by others. Unfortunately, I can recover the deleted files with a free data recovery software. How can I delete files off a flash drive safely on my Windows PC? I am sure a simple deletion and formatting is not safe enough. I want to complete delete these files and there is no way to recover the files by any means. Is this possible?
Windows 11 blocking some access ?
Hi guys! First time here so I hope I do the post the right way. Im having issues specifically with Windows 11. Im using NVDA RTX 4090 and im receiving these type of crash reports everytime i try to open Apex Legends. File System Filter 'EasyAntiCheat_EOSSys' (Version 10.0, 2025-05-05T09:12:50.000000000Z) does not support bypass IO. Supported features: 0x4. The other crash I receive is : The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54} and APPID {15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402} I tried everything with reinstalling the windows, verifying game, reinstalling game, turn off game mod, removed windows latest updates, tried stopping antivirus, gave permission through the reg editor to my pc, tried deleting EAC. At this point, not sure what to do. Also, EAC starting as administrator doesn't do anything.Why is installing drivers through the Windows installer still so backwards?
I was struggling with a missing WiFi driver and tried to install it from a USB stick. The driver was in .exe format, which the Windows installer doesn’t recognize. It would just open the folder with the driver but wouldn’t run the .exe. I found a workaround by opening the console, running explorer, and launching the .exe manually from there. WiFi started working right away.
