After opening Xbox Game Bar, the performance monitoring panel does not display any data

After pressing Win + G to open the Xbox Game Bar, the performance monitoring widget shows that it cannot retrieve performance data.

I tried restarting the Game Bar, updating my graphics card drivers, and turning the background recording feature off and on again, but none of these solutions worked.

Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.

  • Your Game Bar opens, but the Performance widget cannot retrieve metrics after a restart, graphics-driver update, and background-recording toggle. That makes the Game Bar app/package the next supported troubleshooting scope; capture settings do not repair the widget itself.

Install all pending Windows updates and restart. Open Microsoft Store, select Library, then Get updates so Xbox Game Bar and Store components are current. Next open Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Xbox Game Bar > Advanced options. Choose Repair, reopen Game Bar with Win+G, and test Performance. If it still fails, return to Advanced options and choose Reset, which clears the app’s data and settings. If Reset does not restore the metrics, reinstall Xbox Game Bar from Microsoft Store. Record the Windows build, Game Bar version, and exact widget message, then submit Feedback Hub diagnostics or contact Microsoft Support. The message alone does not establish a graphics-driver or hardware failure.
