Outlook Classic "hangs" if I want to open attachments
I have outlook classic on 3 PCs. Within the last month, I have noticed that it takes an incredibly long time to open attached files. Outlook "hangs" for up to 1 minute, and then the file opens. The same thing happens if I copy a file from one email to another. Does anyone have an idea what is causing this. It is quite annoyingSolvedTorzenApr 16, 2026Copper Contributor64Views0likes2CommentsConditional Formatting to New Outlook Calendar
Please bring Conditional Formatting to the New Outlook Calendar. This is a feature we have in Classic Outlook and something I use regularly to help maintain my organization. I've programmed it to color Work Time separate from Travel Time and various meeting categories so that visually I know a lot about the appointment just by the color.SolvedRyanW-Apr 16, 2026Copper Contributor72Views0likes2CommentsOutlook login - temporary problem with recovery service
Hi, Sorry if this is the wrong place in advance, I have had my hotmail.com account probably since circa 1998 and it has everything on there. It seems someone has tried to login so many times that suspicious activity has been detected, I have tried many ways to recover it. I have 2FA Switched on but when I try password recovery to get it to text my mobile it states that service is unavailable :-( It will email to my 1st alternate email account however it then asks to use the second one to which was an old work account that I have no access to :-( Any ideas? do I just wait until it unblocks my phone number? I have the 25 digit recovery key but I get the below error. All help welcome as I really need my account back!SolvednewshawlaneApr 14, 2026Copper Contributor97Views0likes3Commentsoutlook says storage is full but its not.

Hi all, Yesterday and today I have seen several people across at least two separate organizations have their Teams Add-In in Outlook crash and get disabled. Upon initial reviews from our team, we have found the following: Visual C++ runtime The .NET Runtime logs show an unhandled exception in: Microsoft.Teams.MeetingAddin.Scheduler.OneAuthUtils.Startup This occurs while the Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Outlook is initializing. The crash happens right after the Teams add-in loads Curious is anyone else is seeing the same issue and if any fixes have been found.SolvedkpcostelloMar 26, 2026Copper Contributor569Views0likes2CommentsCalendar Invitations Not Arriving with Attachment Icons in Inbox
Multiple computers in a household using Windows 11, Outlook 2021 and Google Mail. Up until the last week or so, whenever I receive a calendar invitation generated through either Outlook or Google, it arrived in my Outlook 2021 inbox with an icon showing an attachment. This is helpful in distinguishing emails that are calendar invitations versus just a regular email message. All of a sudden it just stopped doing that. I've run several tests generating calendar invitations from both "idevices" as well as Outlook on multiple computers, it doesn't matter. Calendar invitations are now arriving in my Outlook inbox with no icon. I'd like to get that functionality back. Any ideas?Solvedmlb32704Mar 26, 2026Copper Contributor70Views0likes3CommentsProblems using Outlook, Gmail and Google Calendar
For a while now, when I have taken Teams meeting invites to my Microsoft Gmail account via Outlook, when I accept them it deletes the email and I lose the Teams link. I have now diagnosed that my Outlook is set up so that my largely defunct Hotmail account is the "primary" account, and all Outlook calendar events that are created get created on the Hotmail calendar. Apparently because I got the Hotmail from Microsoft. I never use my Hotmail account. How do I get this set up so that these invites will create a Calendar event to my Gmail account's calendar, and hopefully sync them with my Google Calendar on my phone, because that's generally where I take Teams meetings from? I apologize if this is the wrong forum.SolvedJohnFoelsterMar 18, 2026Copper Contributor114Views0likes1CommentGmail sync issues within Outlook Classic
Yesterday, my Gmail folders stopped or failed to sync within Outlook Classic. I went through a number of steps including removing the account, re-adding it but now the sub-folders have disappeared completely. Every time I launch Outlook Classic, there is a Send/Receive Error. I have for now started using the new version of Outlook of which all the Gmail folders are present. However, this new version never allowed (and still does not allow) you to add additional email accounts. It says you don’t have permission to, etc… As a result of errors and issues with both versions of Outlook, I am having to use Outlook Classic for work (M365) email accounts and the new Outlook for my Gmail account. This is absurd . I have seen that this appears to be a recent and known issue with Outlook Classic and looks to being investigated. But why and how did this even happen in the first place? Who at Microsoft has decided to implement a change or update which has impacted a large volume of customers all over the world!?!SolvedDevilDamoMar 17, 2026Copper Contributor516Views2likes8CommentsEmails to self considered JUNK, no way to fix unless... (partial solution enclosed)
Any email that I send to myself, from one of my outlook emails, gets classified as JUNK and put in the junk folder with the other 600 junk mails a day. I try to mark it as not junk in the app or in edge and it will NOT allow me to do that. It will not allow me to make a rule or fix it. What does work: Go into your android phone and use the outlook ap. Simply mark it as "Not Junk" and it will take. Android gets the job done. Microsoft will not. WHY would Microsoft classify email from my address as junk and not allow it to be fixed?SolvedKevin_YorkMar 06, 2026Copper Contributor134Views0likes3CommentsOutlook - save as on attachments missing
Hello, the Microsoft documentation suggests that "Attachments are saved in your Documents folder by default. You can't change the default location but can specify a different location each time you save an attachment. Choose the drop-down arrow to the right of the attachment icon to open the attachment menu. Choose Save As to save to your computer or cloud storage location." This drop down option is not there. I am not sure how long this has been the case as I do not use this personally however a colleague obviously finds it very poor to work with attachments saving into a random onedrive folder where she has to move the content where she wants or downloading it and then moving it. I had read that the transition to outlook new removed it and then it had been added back sometime after, looking at posts people had made about the issue. It doesn't seem like this is an option for any file types for anyone in our organisation, any suggestions ? Thank you, Jamie.SolvedJamieWildingMar 06, 2026Copper Contributor203Views0likes1Comment
