Work hours and location policy
Hi! I'm wondering if it's possible to lock down the option "Share your location -> People in my organization can ..." in Work Hours and location in new Outlook? IE to set a policy somewhere (Intune/M365 Admin) in order to lock this so a user can't change it? For example if we want the "Can view all details (building, desk etc.)" to be automatically set for everyone. If not at the moment, is this something that is planned for the future? Kind regards, FridaSolved57Views0likes2CommentsClassic Outlook Stopped Sending Email from the Proper Mailbox
On Prem Exchange 2019, Windows 11, Office 365 for Business, Classic Outlook. User has 3 mailboxes, and would click on a mailbox to create/reply inside that mailbox, and the email would send using that email account. Now it's defaulting to the main email account. This is a terrible bug, and a show stopper.SolvedMI_IS1Apr 01, 2025Brass Contributor82Views0likes2CommentsContacts will not load on desktop app or outlook.com

Hi all Last week, I updated my Office license to include Copilot for Office. Over the weekend, my Location row/bar/selection in Meetings has changed from the flexible Location Suggestions that suggested free locations as I typed to a simple dropdown. I have no idea why. How can I turn the the flexible location suggestions on again? Thanks for any help. BRSolvedadhs1Mar 04, 2025Copper Contributor117Views0likes2CommentsFocused vs Other in Outlook - How does it work?
I am trying to identify the default algorithm for Outlook to sort my e-mails in Focused vs Other. I see the doc references to an algorithm, and there are ways to customize specific Transport Rules for either a particular user/inbox or at the org level, I'm just trying to understand the default behaviour at a high level. Anyone have any links/docs that can elaborate on this? Much Appreciated!SolvedCarl_KarawaniFeb 24, 2025Brass Contributor180Views0likes2CommentsOWA Upload and Share Permissions
Hello...I have a user using OWA (University - Microsoft 365 A5 license) who is experiencing a new scenario/error msg., when initiating the "upload and share" option to share a locally stored file as an email attachment (gets uploaded by default to their OneDrive Attachments folder) when sending OWA email messages to colleagues. The email will send with the attachment icon/link, but recipients don't have access to it and have to choose the "request access" option, where then the user/sender can approve the request for access. The error msg., is "you don't have permission to give others access to file X" and the filename that is uploaded has red text (normally it is blue). The users has tested this scenario on multiple computers w/ multiple browsers, and changed the upload OneDrive folder location, with the same result. I can initiate the same scenario on the same computers, browsers, and files, while signed onto my OWA account w/ out issue. The user's Mailbox has a small quota size and their OneDrive account does as well. This started about two weeks ago, though as far as I know, no University Enterprise changes were made to the users account. Not sure what to look at for a solution so any help would be appreciated. Hello, I’m experiencing an issue with Outlook LTSC 2024 where mailbox names are missing in the Favorites section of the folder pane. When I add a folder (e.g., the Inbox) from a shared mailbox to my Favorites, it only shows as "Inbox" without the associated mailbox name. For example: On my own system, I see "Inbox - email address removed for privacy reasons" in Favorites. For the affected user, it just displays "Inbox." This creates confusion as the user has access to many shared mailboxes, so the Favorites list ends up with multiple "Inbox" entries without any way to distinguish which mailbox they belong to. Steps Taken: Cached Exchange Mode: Verified this is turned off. New Profile: Created a new Outlook profile. The issue persists across all profiles for the user. Different Computer: The user logged into a different computer with the same Outlook version and settings as mine. The issue followed them, indicating it’s likely tied to their mailbox or Exchange settings. Auto-Mapping: Verified that auto-mapping is working. Folder Renaming: The "Rename Folder" option is greyed out and unavailable. Reset Views: Folder views have been reset to defaults, but the problem persists. Outlook Updates: Confirmed that Outlook is fully patched. Environment Details: Outlook LTSC 2024 (fully patched) Exchange Online (auto-mapping enabled for shared mailboxes) Cached Exchange Mode is disabled Questions: Is there a specific setting in Exchange or Outlook that forces mailbox names to appear in the Favorites section? Are there any additional registry settings or configurations that I might have missed? Has anyone else experienced this issue, and if so, how was it resolved? I’ve exhausted most of the common troubleshooting steps and would greatly appreciate any advice or solutions. Thank you!SolvedTomGignacFeb 12, 2025Copper Contributor217Views1like3CommentsRule to only show 3rd email received with same subject
When a report fails, I receive an email notifying me that it failed. The reports will retry twice so I then receive a second and third email. The report doesn’t fully fail until the third email which is when I actually need to take action. Most often a second or third email is never received but with hundreds of reports it would be nice to only receive the third email on my inbox to remove some noise and make it easier to highlight when I need to take action. All three emails will be from the same sender, with the same subject, and received within 60 minutes of each other. I’d love the first two emails to move to a different folder and the third email stay in my inbox. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to configure a rule for this but no luck. Any tips?Solvedmathewsn04Feb 04, 2025Copper Contributor56Views0likes3CommentsOutlook 2021 and Gmail - Outlook doesn't delete Gmail All Mail
I've set up Outlook as the front end for my Gmail account. I can send and receive all my Gmail messages using Outlook. I have set up a number of folders in Outlook to sort mail. These appear fine in Gmail. When I delete a message in Outlook and then check Gmail, that message is no longer in the InBox. HOWEVER, when I check All Mail, the message is still there. and if I have moved it to another folder, copies of the message with those tags are there as well. How do I set up Gmail/Outlook to use Outlook as my interface for Gmail so that deleting messages in Outlook correctly deletes them in Gmail as well? P.S. The same question applies to settings on my Android phone. Thanks in advance.SolvedDSulkinFeb 03, 2025Copper Contributor303Views0likes3Comments
