550 5.7.515 Access denied
I just started getting (100%): "550 5.7.515 Access denied, sending domain xxxxx.xx doesn't meet the required authentication level" when sending emails to hotmail addresses using Outlook desktop for Windows ("classic", 365 MSO - Version 2607 Build 16.0.20228.20124) 64-bit). This was working just fine up until some time ago. Other email domains works just fine. Using the same ISP. Other email clients (Gmail, webmail) works fine. It only fails when using Outlook to send. Spf= Pass , Dkim= Fail , DMARC= Pass I am using SMTP, have tried both port 465 and 587 (STARTTLS and SSL/TLS). Using the same credentials as for sending emails (POP) as required by the ISP (no changes here). Any way to fix this?SolvedjjohansonAug 06, 2026Copper Contributor52Views0likes2CommentsAndroid Outlook using outlook proxy email address for primary account, can't receive emails
Longtime, fairly contented user of Outlook in Microsoft 365 here. Yesterday I tried to set up Outlook on my Samsung phone. I was not able to start by incorporating my primary email account, based at my ISP, even though Outlook spotted that account and offered to include it. (I was confused about the proper IMAP port number.) I then took the route of bringing in a gmail account used as a secondary. That worked well. However, Microsoft required me to set up an outlook.com email. Now my phone Outlook nominally has my ISP account as primary, but when I begin a new message, it lists my outlook.com address and my gmail address as sending options, not my ISP address. Emails I send from the account show as having been sent from the outlook.com account -- mailto:email address removed for privacy reasons --, although when I reply to them, my correct ISP address shows up as the prospective recipient in the email draft. I might be able to put up with this -- not sure about people I correspond with, however -- but the ISP account on my phone outlook is not receiving any emails. (Oddly, there is one email from 2015 from the Outlook.com team about getting started.) I can't find a way to adjust what I assume might be incorrect settings for the ISP server. I'm wondering if I should uninstall the current phone Outlook and try again. A side question: what is the purpose of requiring me to set up an outlook.com email? Thanks for any help you can provide.SolvedomnipheasantJul 30, 2026Copper Contributor31Views0likes2CommentsSuggestion to Improve Outlook Delay Delivery
Dear Microsoft Outlook Team, I have been using Outlook for a long time and I use the Delayed Delivery feature frequently. Honestly, I think it is one valuable features in Outlook, but it is also one of the features I trust the least. Many times I have wondered if my message was actually scheduled to be sent later or if it was sent immediately for some reason. I believe that this uncertainty could be reduced with a few small interface improvements, without changing the way Outlook works. My suggestion is to add: a Confirm Delay button after selecting a delivery date and time, a visible status such as Delay: Active/Not Active, so that the user immediately knows that delayed delivery has been successfully activated, a Scheduled: field that displays the exact delivery date and time, a Deactivate Delay button, which allows users to quickly disable delayed delivery, I have also created a test image example to better explain the idea and attached them to this message. As an Outlook user, I believe these small improvements would increase user confidence in the delayed delivery feature and help prevent accidental or premature delivery of emails. Thank you for taking the time to read my suggestion.Solved93Views0likes4CommentsSignature displayed wrong in New Outlook on Mac

I am using office 365. I spend a lot of time writing this email. It included one other email as an attachment. When I sent it it simply disappeared. The only sign that it had ever existed is the following failure message: Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. No trace of it in Drafts, Outbox, Sent Items, Deleted Items, or anywhere else! The only mistake on my part I can find is that I am now using New Outlook!! Is there any way I can get my email back again? Or is the time I spent on witing this email gone up in smoke?? Been trying to find a solution to this with no luck as yet. When I receive an attachment such as a PDF file, JPG, etc., clicking the file opens it as a preview in Outlook. Similarly, when I click on the down or menu arrow to see options for opening, preview is the first option. How do I set it so that when I click on the file it opens in the default app for my system? Also, can I remove preview from the options in the dropdown? I have outlook classic on 3 PCs. Within the last month, I have noticed that it takes an incredibly long time to open attached files. Outlook "hangs" for up to 1 minute, and then the file opens. The same thing happens if I copy a file from one email to another. Does anyone have an idea what is causing this. It is quite annoyingSolvedTorzenApr 16, 2026Copper Contributor86Views0likes2CommentsConditional Formatting to New Outlook Calendar
Please bring Conditional Formatting to the New Outlook Calendar. This is a feature we have in Classic Outlook and something I use regularly to help maintain my organization. I've programmed it to color Work Time separate from Travel Time and various meeting categories so that visually I know a lot about the appointment just by the color.SolvedRyanW-Apr 16, 2026Tin Contributor628Views1like2Comments
