Turn of copilot in new outlook
There is a serious problem with Copilot turning itself back on in the new Outlook. I would like to ask Microsoft engineers a simple question: What is the purpose of the Copilot toggle button? What is the point of a button that turns itself back on after 15 minutes? Why are you treating users this way, with such an aggressive approach to software we paid for? The situation is extremely simple: If I turn off Copilot, I also lose the Summarize function — which I never wanted in my email client. I do not want you to offer to read my messages for me and retell them. The Copilot button bothers me, and Copilot itself bothers me. I do not need it. When I turn it off, it comes back. What is the point of this? Are you trying to force people into accepting something they clearly do not want? The only way to disable it is to block content analysis. But if I do that, spell check stops working. That is extremely manipulative. I have no words.
Account Locked: Recovery Form Automatically Rejected (Need Human Assistance)
Hello, I am trying to regain access to my old Microsoft account, br**mailto:email address removed for privacy reasons. Unfortunately, I have forgotten the password and I no longer have access to the phone number linked to the account. I completed the Microsoft account recovery form and provided as much information as possible. However, I received a message saying that the information I provided was insufficient to verify that I own the account. I understand the importance of account security, but I am not sure what else I can do to prove that the account belongs to me. Is there another way to verify my identity or contact Microsoft Support for help? Thank you for your assistance.
Outlook new doesn't allow to reorder folders created on pst file
Hi, when i create a new folder on a pst file, the new folder appears at the end of folder list. Although i can move the new folder to any other position in the folder list, when pst or outlook new is closed, folder appears again at the bottom of the folder list.
User can't see some emails after loading PST
Recently I helped a user migrate from an IMAP mail to Outlook. I downloaded the PST file from the old IMAP account and loaded the file into his new account, all in Classic Outlook as this user refuses to use the new Outlook. However, during the load of old mail he would stop receiving any new mail. To fix this I created a new profile and that did allow new mail to arrive, however, the mail from the backup didn’t show. I then loaded the backup into the new Outlook and it only loaded mail up to 2022. After this, we loaded the PST into Outlook Classic on a different device as to not disrupt workflow, but that also didn’t solve the issue. I loaded the PST file into a testing account, and it did load all the files, from 2020 to the date the file was created.
Copilot Changes in New Outlook
Copilot in the New Mail has recently changed to this (I have a $30/mo subscription to Copilot through a business account): If I click on the little circle thing or press Alt+i it displays this with the text below already filled in: I never start prompts to Copilot with "Help me write an email to" so I always have to manually delete this text to enter the actual prompt. Once I do that, Copilot opens the full-blown sidebar with a big discussion. And to top it off, Copilot in the sidebar does not follow the Copilot drafting instructions I saved in the Copilot settings in Outlook. This is a regression compared to how Copilot used to work, which is shown in the screen below: Granted I only ever used "Auto rewrite" in that drop down menu so you could shorten it some. However, this version is better because: (1) it does not open a large sidebar and expect me to enter into a big discussion, (2) there is no pre-existing text in the prompt box so I can press a hotkey and quickly dictate my prompt using the built-in dictation in Windows, (3) it will follow the drafting instructions I saved in the Copilot settings in Outlook, and (4) it shows the option to Auto rewrite the text. I want Copilot to work the way it used to work and, especially, for Alt+i to open up the latter menu in all situations. I understand that some people might want to engage in a big discussion in the sidebar with Copilot, but don't make that the default.
IMAP connection error INVALIDCREDENTIALS
I am trying to add my external IMAP mailbox from my hosting provider (Easyhost.be) to the new Outlook app / Outlook.com. However, when I try to add this mailbox to my domain 'vinedo.be', I immediately receive the error message: INVALIDCREDENTIALS INTERACTIONREQUIRED. In the classic Outlook desktop app, the account works immediately via IMAP with exactly the same password. Everything also works perfectly with the Outlook app on an Android smartphone. There appears to be an incorrect tenant attribution or cache in the background of the Microsoft Cloud that is internally blocking authentication for the domain vinedo.be. Could you clear the cache/tenant attribution for the domain vinedo.be so that the IMAP connection is routed externally again? The mailbox email address removed for privacy reasons was hosted by Gandi.net until recently. This is presumably causing the problem.
Phone verification is not working
Hello. I was logged out of my accounts when I opened Outlook on Windows. I managed to log into the first one, but I forgot my password of the other one. I am struggling to log into that account. That account is not connected to an authenticator app, but is connected to my phone number. I tried resetting my password using my phone and entered last 4 digits of my phone number, but the method is NOT WORKING for some reason. I also tried verifying my account with my phone number, but I didn't get any code from Microsoft. All the accounts that I buy online with use this email account. Please help.Account locked the verification method doesn't work now
Hi, I'm writing for someone my girlfriend as her account cannot be retrieved. She reset her password and cannot sign in since. She is trying to reset password again but when she tries to verify the 2FA, th eonly option available is by receiving a SMS. But the website keeps telling her that this verification method is not working now, and cannot do anything else. Can you please help me with that ? I can give you more info if needed.
