I'm not sure why, but since yesterday both Teams and Outlook have quit working. I have an S25 Ultra. I attempted to clear data and cache and do a fresh install. Outlook just hangs on a black screen with the notification "optimizing database," and Teams just indefinitely loads. I am the Microsoft 365 tenant administrator. Outlook and Authenticator work correctly on Android. The “Sync Contacts” toggle inside Outlook is disabled/greyed out. Native Exchange setup hangs on “Retrieving account information”. No Intune license available (Business Standard tenant). My wife and I share our hotmail calendars with each other For recurring appointments that she creates only, on any Android device using the Outlook app, the appointment is always 1 day later. It is consistent The time is correct so it doesn't seem to be a timezone issue. In Windows settings, Android settings, and outlook.com settings the time zone is Sydney AEST I've resynced the android apps. Hello, I'm having issues signing on to outlook.com. Either through the app or web, keep getting an error. On the Outlook Mobile app, I get "An error occured during authentication". I just started having an odd issue with all the contacts in the Outlook app on my Android phone... For contacts that have multiple contact information (ie: a mobile number, house number, and or email address) listed, the app is breaking out the contacts as separate contacts. Example: If I have James Kirk listed in my phone with a number of 555-111-1701 and an email address as jkirk@fakedomain, he no longer shows up on my phone as James Kirk; instead there are two contacts - one called 555-111-1701 and the other jkirk@fakedomain. Contacts show up correctly in the Outlook desktop app and on the Outlook website. If I modify or add contacts on the desktop app, the change is almost immediately reflected on the Outlook website. Some of the troubleshooting I've done already: Cleared the app cache from the Phone's settings Reset the account from within the app disabled/re-enabled contact synchronization Modified a contact on the desktop app to see if they'd re-sync correctly - had no effect Deleted the account (the contacts disappear when deleted, but come back janky when it's re-added) Uninstalled and re-installed the app Rebooted the phone (for good measure) uninstalling and re-installing the app seemed to fix the problem initially. Right when i setup the app again all the contacts came back looking correct. It's been several hours since I did this and i just took a look at my contact list and it's all janky again. It's not just a visual issue on the phone - it's affecting Contact synchronization with the phone's contact app, and everything else on the phone that relies on contacts. Hi Outlook Community, I'm posting this after a real incident at work where I accidentally sent a confidential email to the wrong client. After reflecting on what went wrong, I've identified two separate but related Outlook issues that compounded the mistake and I want to raise both here so they reach the right people. Bug: Autocomplete Recipient Changes After You Press Enter This one is subtle but dangerous. When you start typing a name in the To/CC/BCC field, Outlook shows an initial autocomplete suggestion. If you press Enter before the search fully resolves, the dropdown refreshes mid-selection and the contact that actually gets added is *different* from the one that was highlighted when you hit Enter. You don't get any warning. You believe you've selected the right person. You haven't. I'd love to see a similar pre-send check for this scenario: You are about to send an email to recipients across 3 different organisations. Did you mean to do this? In consulting, legal, finance, and any client-facing role, it's very easy to accidentally include someone from Client B on an email meant only for Client A especially when contacts share similar names. A configurable domain-count threshold (default: 2 external domains) with a soft confirmation prompt would catch this class of mistake before it becomes a compliance incident. Hi everyone, I’m having an issue where Microsoft Outlook is not receiving any new emails in Office 365. Sending emails works fine, but incoming messages don’t show up in the inbox, even though my internet connection is stable. Hello, I had an old Microsoft email address (hotmail) that I used to register my Microsoft account here. I have just logged in here using the new alias email address. So, I added a new alias email address and made it primary. After that, I somehow removed or lost access to my old email address. Cant see it or make it primary. Microsoft Authenticator on my phone still shows my old email on top but works for this new e-mail address. However, external websites (for example Booking.com) probably still send login verification codes to my old email address, which I no longer have access to. I need assistence with restoring access to my old Microsoft email address, or re-activating it as an alias, or getting official confirmation that the old address is permanently deleted. I have been trying to get Microsoft to fix Search not working for IMAP email account folders for a number of years. Even though Microsoft support have confirmed the BUG multiple times no fix has ever been provided. I am again in a discussion with Outlook For Android support via the support Live Chat option within Outlook but the support engineer basically says I am the only person to have ever reported this bug to Microsoft... Now obviously a quick Google shows may users complaining about the same bug from around 2019 onwards... but for some reason Outlook support do not seem to be able to use Google... For those that may not know of the issue, the Search function will only work with Outlook email accounts or Gmail whne an email has been moved from the Inbox to another folder. If you use a different IMAP email provider and use Folders to move email into from the 'Inbox', the Search function will not find those emails - ever. (The Search function seems to work for the inbox only with IMAP accounts.) So I have a request! Please, any Outlook for Android users that have this issue PLEASE report the BUG to Outlook for Android Support via the 'Settings/Help & Feedback/Contact Outlook mobile support' option. The more users that report this ongoing issue the better, and we may get Microsoft to take it seriously, rather than fobbing users off with a 'no-one else has the issue' response!140Views0likes2Comments
