Change folder name Onedrive
Good afternoon everyone, I have several Onedrive accounts. When I synchronize them, my computer names them all the same but for a final number: Onedrive - Educacyl / Onedrive - Educacyl (1) / Onedrive -Educacyl (2), etc. I would like to name them in a different way in my computers. How can I do that? I work both with Mac and Windows 10.594KViews1like4CommentsGet direct download link of a file in OneDrive for Business
I use "Get Link" button and it gives me a link (like below) which will open the file online. How can I get a link for direct file download? Hi, I'm trying to use Onedrive and Onenote, but it seems to be really terrible 50% of the time. Sometimes when I log on my pc, it says I have to log in, and in doing so, is stuck on a "signing in" loop, until it says some error code about me not having an internet connection. Here's what I've tried: 1. Close and open Onedrive 2. Removing auth from the pc and adding it again 3. Reinstalling Onedrive 4. Change Wi-Fi 5. Do a /reset in Windows run AND cmd 6. Update drivers 7. Install the newest Onedrive from the website 8. Try the app-version found in Windows Store What am I supposed to do? I don't want to restart my pc every time it doesn't work, that's a terrible fix.304KViews6likes54CommentsHow to disable OneDrive and stop it from coming up when I use SAVE As
I uninstalled OneDrive and its folders. I could not find the setting icon to unlink my computer prior to uninstalling it. It still is the first option that pops up under Save as....this is hindering my productivity. Do I need to reinstall it and then try again to find the setting? All the posts online say to access the OneDrive help and setting icon...then click settings, then account, and select unlink this computer. The OneDrive setting icon does list and account option. This is so frustrating. I feel held hostage by OneDrive which I don't want. Any help would be appreciated to resolve this annoyance.214KViews2likes22CommentsWhy am I not able to find my recently created folders in OneDrive or my file Explorer?
I recently created a folder on my OneDrive account with Word Documents that i had saved in the folder. Upon trying to locate the folder in my OneDrive, the folders that i had just created, never showed up again. It was really strange, because i was sure that i had created the folders and i was not losing my memory. Then i thought that it might not be showing in my File Explorer/ OneDrive if I still had the Word Document open so i closed the word document and then opened my OneDrive in my file explorer and I still couldn't find the folder that i had just created. After about 10 minutes, i opened the Word program once again and then located the file under,"Recent Documents", then right clicked the file that i had recently created and selected "Open File Location". When i did that, it indeed showed that the file location that i had just created did exist in the pathway i just described, in Word's memory, but it was still not existent in my OneDrive's memory under my File Explorer. Has anyone else experienced this issue with OneDrive not remembering recently saved folders and their contents?Solved184KViews2likes14CommentsFrom "Available on this device" to "Always available on this device"
With Files On-Demand, I am trying to understand the point of changing the status from "Available on this device" to "Always available on this device". As I understand it, as soon as the status becomes "Available on this device" , OneDrive maintains a sync'ed copy available both online and on the local device. If so, what difference does it make when the status is changed to "Always available on this device"?Solved179KViews2likes15CommentsRemoving an account from OneDrive for Android

Hi, I'm missing the context menu on synced OneDrive for Business files. The icons on the cloud status are visible, but in the right-click menu I have no section on OneDrive. So no chance of changing the status to "Always Keep on device". Is there a registry key missing or what can I do to get it back? Ondrive client works otherwise without any problems! I'm part of a workplace that currently uses Google Workspace for Enterprise but we're looking to switch to Microsoft OneDrive right now and I have a few questions. First of all I want to say that the only thing we care about is cloud storage. We work in video and therefore need the unlimited storage that OneDrive for Business (Plan 2) is supposed to give. We don't need any of the Office365 stuff and other apps and services that can be added on. https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/microsoft-365/onedrive/compare-onedrive-plans?activetab=tab:primaryr2 tells me that Plan 2 for Business gives us unlimited storage for $10/user/month. Of course the conditions say: > Unlimited individual cloud storage for qualifying plans for subscriptions of five or more users, otherwise 1 TB/user. Microsoft will initially provide 1 TB/user of OneDrive for Business storage, which admins can increase to 5 TB/user. Request additional storage by contacting Microsoft support. Storage up to 25 TB/user is provisioned in OneDrive for Business. Beyond 25 TB, storage is provisioned as 25 TB SharePoint team sites to individual users. I intend to add 5-10 users to the organization so I definitely qualify. So, let's say I first increase the limit to 5TB/user to get 25TB total, do I need to wait till I hit 25TB to ask for more? When the conditions say "Beyond 25 TB, storage is provisioned as 25 TB SharePoint team sites to individual users", I have to ask Microsoft for it. I'm wondering what kind of process this is. Do I have to explain exactly what I'm using it for. Is it a lengthy process, or is it just a simple email and they give me a new Sharepoint. Now about SharePoints, I'm not sure how they work, but from what I understand they're limited to 25TB/sharepoint. But when they say it is "provisioned as 25 TB SharePoint team sites to individual users", can multiple sharepoints be provisioned to the same user. $10/user would be $100/month for 10 users. So essentially I could add 250TB in SharePoints. But can I add more SharePoints on top of that to the same users, cus we're way over that on Google already. Or would I have to add more users for each new SharePoint. Next, does it make any difference if I get SharePoint Plan 2 instead of ODfB Plan 2. Also, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/sharepoint-online-service-description/sharepoint-online-limits says that the total storage per organization is 1TB plus 10gb/license. What is this talking about and is it related to ODfB. Lastly, how hard would it be for me to move my stored files from Google Drive to OneDrive. Right now, it's sitting at over 500TB. Would we have to hire some other service or is there something we can use provided my Microsoft for this kind of process.138KViews0likes6CommentsSilently configure OneDrive using Windows 10 or domain credentials
Hi , In reference to : (Preview) Silently configure OneDrive using Windows 10 or domain credentials https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Use-Group-Policy-to-control-OneDrive-sync-client-settings-0ecb2cf5-8882-42b3-a6e9-be6bda30899c I have a few questions; The article states that "This policy lets you configure the OneDrive sync client silently using the primary Windows account on Windows 10, and domain credentials on Windows 7 and later." What is a primary windows account on windows 10? I have a Win 10 and i sign in using a domain account. I created the registries for EnableADAL and SilentAccountConfig , restarted the sync client and also the machine. This does not sign me in to my account automatically. Is there something i am missing? I noticed a few things after adding the registries; 1.Theres a new file added under C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive\settings called PreSignInSettingsConfig.json 2..Everytime i launch the onedrive app and the sign in screen appears; it creates a new update file at: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive\setup\logs and the contents of the file say its trying to refer to the .json file mentioned in 1. I am not sure what i am doing wrong, any help would be appreaciated.128KViews1like59CommentsAdd and Open files shared with you in windows explorer (OneDrive for Business)
Is there any way to add and open files shared with me onto my OneDrive -- ie. To work on those files directly on my windows explorer folder, under my local OneDrive folder? Over the past year, OneDrive has evolved at a rapid pace introducing new features for end users and IT, across sync, web, and mobile. As the number of users and usage continues to grow, our customers have asked for an easier way to administer their company OneDrive settings and policies. Today, we’re excited to announce the rollout of the OneDrive admin center preview to First Release customers and we want to hear your feedback. Once deployed to your tenant, all tenant and SharePoint admins will have permissions to access the OneDrive admin center preview at https://admin.onedrive.com. Key features by section include: Home: This is the dashboard for the admin center and will soon show recent Office 365 Message Center posts and usage reporting related to OneDrive for Business. Sharing: This section helps admins gain control over how and with whom your users are sharing information. This includes controlling the use of external sharing and anonymous links, as well as limiting which external domains users can share with. Sync: Admins can block syncing of specific file types and deny syncing to non-domain joined PCs. Storage: This section allows admins to easily set default storage limits and document retention durations. Device Access: This gives admins control over how and from where a user can access their files. This includes allow/deny access from personal devices or specific networks as well as rich Mobile Application Management Intune policies for iOS and Android. Compliance: Admins can find quick links to the Office 365 Security and Compliance Center for key scenarios like auditing, data loss prevention, retention, and eDiscovery. Please have a look at the preview and provide us your feedback and comments below. Our plan is to begin the generally available rollout later next month and subsequently add a link from the Office 365 admin center. Thank you! Do you guys remember the Microsoft demo where they showed how much faster the OneDrive upload was compared to other cloud storage providers. Apparently this is no longer the case. I have had users report that OneDrive uploads in the browser are slow compared to Box.com so I ran a similar test to what Microsoft did. OneDrive browser uploads in my test are ~10 times slower than box. Can anyone else confirm this? What can we do to fix this?126KViews4likes37CommentsFiles shared with Anyone sometimes prompt users to request acccess to the file
My company is experiencing an intermittent problem where sometimes a OneDrive for Business file shared with the setting "Anyone with this link can edit" prompts the user the file is being shared with to request access. If the user tries to open the file a second time, they can then access the file without requesting access. We're wondering why that access request prompt sometimes happens and how to prevent it. It doesn't happen consistently, so we're having trouble reproducing and troubleshooting it. Has anyone seen this before and know how to fix it?122KViews6likes116CommentsNo way of running OneDrive on Windows Server 2019?
I'm running an instance of Windows Server 2019 on Amazon AWS, and need to sync some files. Apparently Windows Server 2019 comes with no traces of OneDrive (even though the OneDrive webpage recognizes my web client as Windows 10 and assures me that it should be installed), so I'm trying to install the app manually. I've downloaded OneDriveSetup.exe (from onedrive.live.com), but the system ignores it when I try to run it, ie. nothing happens... I'm close to tear out my hair, what is happening?Solved119KViews0likes15Comments
