OneDrive for Business
Gracias y saludos32Views0likes0CommentsEdit a text file saved in OneDrive on Android options?
Seeking advisement on if there are any features or workarounds known within the community to edit text files saved in OneDrive on an Android Oreo or above device? Does MS Word on Android support edit of text files or rtf files saved in Onedrive? Does the OneDrive Android app permit open of txt files? When I click a txt file the action results in open in my associated text editor QuickEdit, I then edit, save and then upload the txt file to OneDrive with overwrite of the original text file. is this currently the only way to edit txt files stored on OneDrive ; via a 3rd party editor? Please advise of any workarounds or if there are any built in txt edit features within MS Android apps (e.g MS Word) Thank You11KViews0likes2CommentsRetention Policy and OneDrive data recovery
I'm in the process of configuring OneDrive for Business and was looking at how to setup the retention policy. I found you can setup a retention Policy in Security and Compliance>Information Governance and you can also change the number of days from 30 to a maximum of 3650 (10 years) in OneDrive Portal (Storage), what is the difference? Do i need to enable both for the retention to work? Does this change the way we restore permanently deleted OneDrive Data?Solved3.8KViews0likes6CommentsHow to monitor download and upload events in onedrive?
I'm looking for a reliable way to monitor file download and upload events in OneDrive. Are there specific Microsoft Graph API endpoints, audit logs, or other tools within Microsoft 365 that can help track these actions? Any advice on configurations, permissions, or best practices to ensure effective monitoring would be greatly appreciated!104Views1like1Comment".tmp.driveupload"
I am having an issue where my word doc (set to autosave to OneDrive business desktop app) on my PC is suddenly saved in a ".tmp.driveupload" folder online under a different file name (random numbers), with autosave switched off. If I do not notice this happening, the change to the document is not saved under the expected folder and file name, resulting in no change made to the file I opened. The only workaround I've found is to "save a copy" and overwrite the file I opened in the original folder. This only works if I notice the sudden name change and file save in the tmp folder. If I don't, the changes are lost because the tmp file is deleted (to recycle bin) on exit and the tmp folder is not synced to my PC. I have to go online to the OneDrive business website, guess which file it may be, restore that from the OneDrive recycle bin, and hope it is the file I was looking for. The frequency of this happening means that there are numerous tmp files under pseudo file names to scour through. One-hour plus on the phone with MS Office subscription support is of no help.2.3KViews0likes5CommentsOnedrive opening files on Android Phone
Would.like help as no matter what I do my Android wil not open OneDrive files and responds that files have been deleted or reposition or I have no access authorization. I have logged onto to x2 computers with the same OneDrive connection one personal and one business without any issues on location. Files are showing up with either blue cloud or green risk but same issue either way. Would appreciate your help as to why the phone is not being allowed to open the files that it can clearly see.79Views0likes0CommentsMove files between OneDrive accounts
Is there a reliable and quick way to move files between OneDrive accounts? Be this via Powershell or other solutions? Using the sync / copy feature is slow and unreliable, especially if those accounts are based in regions with slow internet connectivity and we have lots of files to move. Use cases: When staff leave we want to move their OneDrive files to other OneDrive accounts or when merging several OneDrive accounts into one. I'm searching for the proper procedure to resolve a OneDrive for Business issue where a file path is too long. Still, when revised in SharePoint, the OneDrive account doesn't sync the changes and continues to alert the path being too long despite being renamed in SharePoint.66KViews0likes6CommentsRestricting unauthenticated sharing / Anyone links to certain users or group
Hello. We want specific users in our organisation to be able to share documents anonymously using "Anyone links". Our current Office 365 "Sharing Policy" is set so that users can share external to "New and Existing guests" , for both sharepoint and onedrive. The problem is that Sharepoint Admin centre doesn't appear to have the option to allow us to maintain our existing policy "New and Existing guests" which applies to 99% of the business and allow only a couple of individuals the option to share files anonymously, within the Microsoft ecosystem. For example, the marketing team want to a share company presentation slides externally without specifying every email address that is permitted to view the shared file. With this in mind, is there a PowerShell script that I can deploy that will allow for certain users or groups to share files anonymously whilst keeping our default policy "New and existing guests" for the rest of the business?566Views1like3Comments
