I lost my files on OneDrive after restoring the location to default. Here’s what happened: I set the Desktop location back to its default to remove the "OneDrive" keyword from the path. I clicked "OK" despite some warnings. As a result, all my folders on the Desktop disappeared. When I checked the OneDrive website, the files weren’t there either (I suspect the OneDrive sync hadn’t completed before I made the changes). How can I resolve this issue and restore my files?21Views0likes0CommentsGet a link to share without email
This is incredibly frustrating and clearly data harvesting by microsoft. I want to share files to clients, in onedrive select the file, right click>onedrive>share None of the options in here allow me to just get a link to send to somebody. It makes onedrive sharing useless to me. I am not entering client emails into microsoft it serves no purpose other than data harvesting as far as I can tell. Is there any work around for this, other than don't use onedrive which is becoming a real possibility!43Views0likes2CommentsI lose Sharepoint sync
We have all company files shared in SharePoint and synced with OneDrive. Lately it has happened to us that some users, not all, suddenly have the synchronization fail, all at the same time, with a Onedrive notification appearing on the desktop saying "Folder was deleted. Folder will stop synchronizing. A copy of these files will be left on the PC". If the user doesn't realize it, they are still working on the files, but they are not syncing to SharePoint. Why could this be happening?93Views0likes1Commentnew update unlicensed Onedrive account
Next year end of januri there will be an update about Onedrive unlicensed account. They will be archived etc.. My question is, how will this affected by this scenario. A user is leaving the company and the license will be removed, his mailbox wil be transferred to a shared mailbox. User account wil be disabled. Is the policy after 93 days still in place and will the account been archived after this period? In word or excel I get an error saying "UPLOAD BLOCKED We couldn't verify you have the necessary permissions to upload the file." and "The permissions on this file were updated and you no longer have the rights to view this file. If you previously made changes to this file, they may not be saved." These are my files that I created in my programs, save in my OneDrive. Why can't I use my files?! The discussions in this forum are no longer relevant to help with this problem. There is no "office tab" when you click on the OneDrive icon and select settings. The only discussion from 2023 is for a Mac OS. I am using Windows 11.58KViews0likes5CommentsOnedrive and Prevent access to drives policy
I am working with clients that have enabled a group policy "Prevent access to drives from My Computer" as part of their security hardening process. This prevents them from accessing their OneDrive folder. The following article describes a workaround, but it results in a less secure setup. https://james-rankin.com/videos/using-onedrive-sync-client-with-c-drive-restrictions-and-a-bunch-of-handy-security-tips-too/ Has anyone solved this issue in the 4 years since this article? I've posted a suggestion to the OneDrive Feedback portal - https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/idea/fd351968-79b0-ef11-95f5-6045bdbc7c3936Views0likes0CommentsOneDrive acting strange
I have a Business OneDrive on an External Drive but on my PC I have 2 links to it, one on the Desktop that has all the folders but it does link to the external Drive & one on my PC further down in Explorer which also links to the External Drive. But when I save a file it doesn't show in both of the places for the External Drive Both of these have the same amount of folders in them. Why when I save a file irrespective of which place the folders are, do they not mirror in the other folders area, as they are both linked to the External Drive. Plus OneDrive from my Task Bar isn't saving the files to the Cloud. I want to save them locally to the External Drive but also want them to upload to the Cloud & it isn't doing that. Space isn't the issue for either the Cloud or the External Drive. Can anyone give me some help please? Thank you! ☺️38Views0likes1Comment
