I’ve been using Microsoft Office 365 Family for several years, sharing it with my family members. We have 6 accounts, each with 1 TB of storage. One of my accounts has now reached 985 GB, so I need to transfer files from Account A (my account) to Account B (my wife’s account). These files mainly consist of photos and videos — over 200,000 files in total. I tried transferring a 6 GB wedding shoot (.ISO format), but it took more than an hour. Re-downloading and uploading all the data isn’t feasible as my internet connectivity is limited to 100 mbps only. I’m looking for the best and most efficient way to move these files directly between OneDrive accounts.53Views0likes1CommentOneDrive - Mass File Deletion by OneDrive
I noticed in late July/early August that files in my OneDrive folders suddenly vanished. More than 25 years' worth data gone. Close to 300 GB of both personal and business data. Only the files were gone. The folders and file structure remained untouched. My OneDrive space is 2 TB. The Recycle Bin was empty. My OneDrive account has been active since OneDrive started and remains so without interruption. Through the forum community I learned that I am not alone with my frustrations. Microsoft Support scheduled a telephone call. The gentleman who called was rude. He said the only way files were deleted was by the user (i.e., me). That suggestion is ridiculous as it suggests I went into hundreds of individual folders and subfolders to delete files but leave the folder structure intact. The gentleman said there was no way OneDrive or Microsoft could cause that to happen. News flash. It wasn't just me. I later submitted a request for assistance by messaging OneDrive Support asking my issue to be escalated to the OneDrive Engineering Team for a One-Time Data Restoration (OTDR). I'm still waiting for a response or even as much as an acknowledgement of my support request. Does anyone else recognize this issue? What other ideas have others tried that worked to fix the problem? Any ideas on how I get my files back?153Views1like1CommentOne Drive Keeps Coming Back
So I recently updated to a new laptop. I completely resent that MS now defaults to everything going to OneDrive. I should be given a choice. I went through the laborious process of unsyncing, unlinking, and uninstalling OneDrive. It worked for the most part - except the Pictures Folder that was still pointing to a now unlinked Pictures folder. I managed to create my own Pictues folder and pin it. Fast forward to a couple of days ago. I wake up to my computer having been restarted due to an update. And lo - OneDrive is back and syncing again. I took a picture with my webcam and it automatically saved to OneDrive. I went in and unlinked the account again and I cannot understand why MS is so adamant that everything point to OneDrive. I should be allowed to back up what I wish to back up.193Views0likes5CommentsBlock/prevent specific folders from being sync'ed
As OneDrive admins we would like to block/prevent specific folders from being sync'ed (i.e node_modules), using policies. In the roadmap there is this item: https://www.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/roadmap?id=178292 that was supposed to be rolling by now, any information about its status? Hello Please i need your help on this issue. We are having OneDrive for Business sync issues. Our Client rossmachineshop.onmicrosoft.com has been having issues with long onedrive sync issues for some time. We have been working to help them move files to new libraries to reduce quantity of files being synced. Recently it seems that nearly all users are experiencing issues. We would like assistance in troubleshooting what is happening.43Views0likes0CommentsHide spesific folder from OneDrive synk all users
We have a cloud application that uses the user's OneDrive while they are working with documents. These files are stored in a specific folder and are removed when the user checks in the files through the application. However, it seems the application does not handle users checking in files while they are syncing. I’ve looked into policies and settings in SharePoint Online and Intune, but I haven’t found a way to exclude the folder for all users. The only solution so far seems to be guiding users to do this manually. Is there really no other way to achieve this?65Views0likes1CommentOneDrive folders when switching to a new computer
Hi All Let me first explain what I have setup I have created my OneDrive on my computer to sync only selected folders to my SD card. (Many reasons and I have found this very useful) I customized the OneDrive location using this article https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/install-onedrive-on-an-external-drive-6307e24b-d7a4-493f-bf43-47345b2c11fe I now have a new computer and will be just moving this SD card over and all my data should be there and ready to go. I have only selected some of the OneDrive folders to sync and of them some of it is made locally available so I can work on them even if I am off line (like traveling on a plane with no internet) or am in the woods or very remote locations where I get no connectivity. Now to the question I plan to setup my new computer with the SD card and hopefully can follow the article (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/install-onedrive-on-an-external-drive-6307e24b-d7a4-493f-bf43-47345b2c11fe) and once more link up the SD card (with all the information it has locally) Where does Windows 10/OneDrive store information about which are the folder I have selected and what to do with them? I cannot find this information and maybe I do not need it - unsure about this. If I do as stated in article https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/install-onedrive-on-an-external-drive-6307e24b-d7a4-493f-bf43-47345b2c11fe with the old SD card in my new computer will I be up and running or is there something I should follow to make this work well. Remember I cannot have the SD card in two locations to know the information. Any guidance or pointers from any one who has done this would be very helpful. I wish MS helps people who want to customize or adapt things by giving more clear instruction on how they design or document so people can customize. I struggle with this and how MS does their software. While on OneDrive - anyone written batch files on the computer to create onedrive folders, then share it with users along with setting expiration dates? These can be done on the browser, but one folder at a time with clickoholic interface and it gets repetitive very quickly if you have to do this for 40 students every semester - Of course MS has not way of doing this at all (at least to my knowledge and my reading)175Views0likes3CommentsRestoring whole One Drive
Hello, I was clearing one of my devices before giving it away. It seems to have deleted a lot of files and folders on One Drive - which I thought was separate from an individual device. How do I get these files and folders back - not sure if they are all in the recycle bin. Thanks in advance Martin73Views0likes1CommentError 0x8004de40
