Notification Channel
Hello, I am looking for solution about appliacation or some kind of bot who will send private message to each user in organization with notification about some event etc. If it can't be done, is it possible to create channel that users cannot mute? Thanks in advance! ;)kmatlakFeb 19, 2025Copper Contributor14Views0likes1CommentLocal Survivability with Operator Connect
Wanted to see if anyone out there has stood up a form of Local Survivability for PSTN access in the event someone loses connectivity back to the Teams tenant or an M365 outage? Not sure if it's on the roadmap to have SBA's work in parallel with OC clients? I'd hope you could have the IP Phone register to both OC and the SBA and in the event OC was unreachable the phone would use the SBA to dial out to the PSTN. I understand we can standup different ISP's for carrier diversity but if both went down to a fiber cut, this client needs access to 911 as they are a city with many recreational facilities for the residents that use them. Any thoughts on how we can roll out a Local Survivability option with Operator Connect would be appreciated . Thanks!Josh bradleyFeb 19, 2025Copper Contributor6Views0likes0CommentsCan I restrict certain Team Members to be 'Read Only' for files, whilst being able to access Posts?
Hi, Any advice would be much appreciated on this as I've been going round in circles and I don't know how best to resolve it, or if there's another way around it. Essentially what I am wanting is to be able to add someone within my organisation as a member of a Team (members have edit access by default, as most people require this) but, rather than them being a full member, I just want them to have read only access to the files area. So we would almost like to have - Team Owners (can do everything) Team Members (edit access) Guests (can see posts but read only access to files) When adding someone via Teams we only have the Owner / Member choice, with no way to restrict in in finer detail on a per-person basis. I have tried using Sharepoint permissions to drill into the 'Members' group but - as they were added via Teams - it groups them together as a 365 managed group and doesn't let me amend individual user permissions. Is there a clever way to do this? Or a different way of adding people so that they can both have read-only access to files and also see the posts area? Many thanks in advance!ctb0503Feb 19, 2025Occasional Reader2Views0likes0Comments"You might not see everyone's video" - can I suppress this?
Recently (this week), I started getting this pop-up every time I join a Teams meeting: "You might not see everyone's video. The device you're using can only show a limited number of videos at this time." This using Teams 25017.203.3370.1174 on Windows 11 on a Surface Pro 6 (Core i7 w/16gb RAM). I've been using Teams on this Surface for years and have not had any issues with video. And I'm not seeing any new issues with video so not sure why I keep getting this message. I have to click to close it every time I join a meeting. Is there a way to suppress this or turn it off?windracerFeb 19, 2025Brass Contributor37Views1like0CommentsMentioning Team vs Mentioning Channel
Hello guys, since recent change (MC793969) it appears that if you mention the team or the channel in a channel that the user has hidden, he will not be notified... In the past this behaviour was only for mentioning the channel... hence users could control the notification.... i hide the channel and get less notification but if something urgent they will mention me by @team... Questions: 1, how can i reach the whole team if some users might have hid the channel where i post? 2, whats the difference now between mentioning the team and the channel?SifiakFeb 19, 2025Copper Contributor1View0likes0CommentsGreen Blocky Glitch on Shared Screen in New Teams Meeting
I have a user on New Teams that repeatedly has trouble with screens being shared in meetings by other people showing up as a Green Blocky mess on her end. So far we have cleared cache, uninstalled and reinstalled New Teams, updated graphics drivers, tested her internet connection (measured at 300Mbps down by 35Mbps Up and she is the only user on it) performed normal system maintenance (SFC, D.I.S.M, CHKDSK), and restarts galore. No luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.4KViews5likes33CommentsNearby in chat @mentions
Does anyone know what exactly the option "Nearby in chat @mentions" does? It's one option under Notifications and activity > Chats and channels > @Mentions. I understand all the other options available, but this one I cannot seem to make sense of. I couldn't find any sort of documentation about it either. Please help 😅CarmenMyoFeb 19, 2025Copper Contributor1View0likes0CommentsMaximum Chat Participants needs to be increased
Hello - With how the default Teams' notifications are setup, our leadership decided we need a mass chat for all staff. This works much better and feedback has been positive from our staff. We prefer the "real time" chat and how it looks compared to the Teams' forum posting format. With that said, the chat participant limit is 250. WhatsApp just increased their limit to 512. Slack has a 1,000 person limit, Telegram is 200,000!! Does Microsoft have any plans to increase the 250 limit? We may need to move away from it if there are no plans. Hi, The Teams Avatar for Teams and People do not show up in the Teams App (1.03.0.12058 64bit) on my Windows 10 Laptop, they do show up when I use Teams via Edge. Any ideas of what has happened or a setting that needs adjusting?SolvedPaul_SavenijeFeb 18, 2025Copper Contributor34KViews1like13CommentsUse Incognito mode to use meeting link
I missed a job interview two weeks ago because when I tried to use the Teams meeting link that the institution sent me, it took me to my Teams login instead of to the meeting. I ended up in a chat room rather than the meeting. Extremely frustrating and I have lost the chance of getting the job. The only way around this, I have found, is to use incognito mode by clicking top right on the browser. I wish Microsoft would solve this issue.Muse11Feb 18, 2025Occasional Reader13Views0likes0Comments
