Teams Chat - Guest vs External
We find that Teams Chat to External users of another tenancy Teams (using their full email name) notifies them within their Teams that there is an incoming message and allows them to participate in a text-only conversation. The recipient is logged into their 'home' Teams and doesn't need to do anything else, or switch to the senders Tenancy. If a Teams Chat is sent to a Guest user, who is logged into their 'home' Teams (and not the senders Teams tenancy) they get no notification. This is not the expected behaviour. Adding someone to a Channel automatically creates a Guest, and we are having to tell our users to ignore the suggested Guest account when trying to start a Chat and instead type in the full email name to send the message to an External account if they want their message to be seen immediately.
Moving from skype to teams does not migrate my chat history
Hello, I have tried to login to teams using my skype username. It prompt me to merge my skype account with my personal email. I clicked yes. it successfully logged me in into Ms Teams. I cannot see my skype chat history into teams and also not all of my contacts are there. I have enabled skype account contacts to sync from Settings => People => Sync contact => Manage but still not all contacts are synced and no chat history at all. Anyone knows how can I import the chat history as well? Thank you in advance
Teams SIP Gateway connected phones and voicemails
We have a strange issue. A Teams user got a new SIP device that is successfully integrated via SIP Gateway. If a caller leaves a message, it will appear as a voicemail in Outlook, all Teams apps and devices. The SIP device also shows that there is a new voicemail, but if we want to listen to the voicemail and press 1, we get told that there are no voicemails. Hoping someone can help with this. We just started moving to Microsoft Office software, and I'm trying to figure out how to make the Teams chat window pop up to the foreground in Windows 10 when a new chat comes in. All of our previous chat software has had this capability, but I'm stumped trying to locate it in Teams so far. Without the chat window popping to the foreground, I'm finding that chats are being missed constantly, and I need to be able to quickly see a new chat message, so I can assist members of my team as fast as possible. The banner and feed notifications alone are not going to work for our group.
Chat, video call and record? Transition to teams from Skype
I use Skype to teach private lessons. I write notes in the chat so students have a log of notes and I record parts of a meeting to further help them. I have had to set up a Teams business account in order to record as personal doesn't offer this but I can't add my students who have their own personal log in details. How do I add my students to my business account so that I can chat to them privately, do one to one video calls and record parts of my lesson just like Skype?
