2187 TopicsTeams Feedback for Meeting Recordings
Good Morning, Unfortunately, GCC Tenant users still can't post feedback through the feedback portal, so I am using this forum to post a suggestion for an improvement to teams. One gap I see is related to Teams recording notification, that I think is probably a universal challenge for most government Departments and Agencies and other sectors as well. Please see the suggestion below. Can you please add a feature to Teams that verbally tells users who join a Teams meeting via Teams or via the phone that "The meeting is being recorded," which will help with the blind attendees who can't see meeting recording icon or for the attendees that miss the icon all together. Additionally, since some people who are unfamiliar with Teams miss the meeting recording icon in the top right-hand corner and for the deaf attendees if there is an onscreen pop-up that says "Meeting is being recorded," which they would need to click "Ok" to affirm that they are okay with joining the meeting that is being recorded. Additionally, I suggest that when the meeting recording feature is turned on when you are in a meeting you have the option of doing an onscreen modal prompt that hides a majority of what is displayed until the click on the "Ok" button similar to when joining above. Just like when they join a meeting, I would also suggest that Teams does a verbal prompt telling the attendee, "Meeting is being recorded" for the attendees who are already in a meeting as well. If they do add this feature to the meeting then I would recommend that they could still centrally manage it through the Admin console to have it automatically be turned on for the whole domain, be self-managed by the organizer or have an option to have it disabled be default if that is what the admin elects to do. Thanks in advance for your consideration, Jim10Views0likes0CommentsHow to Improve Security in Teams to Prevent Unauthorized Recordings and Anonymous Access?
Hello, We’ve faced multiple incidents in Microsoft Teams sessions where unauthorized AI recording apps were activated, and anonymous users joined. We’ve tried using Lobby Mode, restricting recording permissions, and blocking third-party apps via App Permission Policies. However, these measures have limitations, such as requiring constant monitoring of the lobby and users returning after leaving. Are there additional features, configurations, or third-party tools within or beyond Microsoft Teams (e.g., Teams Premium) that can provide robust security to: Automatically block unauthorized apps during sessions? Prevent reentry of removed participants? Enhance privacy while minimizing the burden on presenters? If Teams cannot address these, what alternative platforms offer better security for large 1-to-many sessions? Thank you!56Views0likes0CommentsAnyone else intermittently losing the Immersive Space (3D) option off of the View menu?
Anyone else having this issue? I've been doing a lot in Teams Immersive Spaces. It has worked in New Teams for most of the year. I've demonstrated it in front of live audiences successfully for most of the year too. Until about two weeks ago. I was in front of an audience, went to show them how it works on a Business Standard tenant I've had for about 10 months, and boom, no Immersive Space (3D) on the View menu. I have all the right settings, the right licenses, and it has been working fine until now. It doesn't matter if I am doing a "meet now" or a scheduled meeting. Alone, or with others invited. I've made sure my version is up to date. I've removed and reinstalled Teams, I've tried it with other accounts, I've done a reset and a repair. I've rebooted the computer. I've tried it on other Windows 11 machines with Teams. I have an enterprise tenant, also was able to use Immersive Spaces in Teams, that also has this issue using the clients on my computers. It is intermittent. Some of my friends who tried it for me, can see it on the menu (including on the Mac), some can't. It often works once, then the Immersive Space (3D) menu item then disappears, and even a quit and restart of Teams won't bring it back. It does seem to be more dependable on the Mesh admin trial licenses than the paid for Teams Premium licenses for some reason. Not sure if that's a red herring, but I thought I'd mention it. Also, occasionally, the users I invite (if I do a scheduled meeting and not a meet now), will show up briefly as unknown, when they've had the right licensing for a while, but this disappearing menu item thing happens even with no one else invited. Anyone else having this issue with Teams? Have you found a fix? I've just really gotten people comfortable using the feature, and now it's not dependable.35Views0likes0CommentsProfile Picture not updating

Is this a bug or something? Please fix this @53KViews0likes7CommentsTeams Calling Configuration for small hybrid organisation split between countries... how to do this?
We are a startup, UK-based micro-sized business, and we are considering Teams for our telephony and collaboration needs. We'd like to know if Teams can support the configuration described below, and if so, then how this would be configured, in simple terms? We want all inbound calls to our main UK phone number to come into Teams. (Happy to take a new main phone number from Microsoft to get started.) We will have 2 UK based operatives who may work in different physical locations. Each will have at least one device with unlimited mobile carrier data / uncapped WIFI. We will have 2 Philippines based operatives who may work in different physical locations. Each will have at least one device with unlimited mobile carrier data / uncapped WIFI. The 2 UK ops are likely to work concurrently. The Phils ops will never work concurrently - if one is on the other is off. We would like inbound calls (calls to our main UK number) to ring the UK based ops simultaneously (subject to their individual availability status); if no pickup within X seconds (or nobody available) then ring Phils ops (subject to their individual availability status); if no pickup within Y seconds (or nobody available) then route call to a voicemail destination shared by the 2 UK ops. Allow UK ops to use Teams to make domestic outbound calls only. Apply a spend cap to prevent any cost accruals above a predictable, fixed amount. Prevent Phils ops from making outbound calls using Teams. Ensure zero cost accruals on calling by Phils ops. All 4 operators to be able to Teams call each other (internal Teams meetings) without restriction and cost free. For outbound calls, present the main UK phone number as the Caller ID on the receiving end of the call (where supported). Is this configuration possible? If so, could anybody briefly outline the required steps for configuring this? Any potential landmines with this? Also, any legitimate Teams licensing arrangements to support this scenario which would save money? Many thanks in advance for any advice which anybody is able to provide.16Views0likes0CommentsReceiving Cell Call while in Teams Meetings
I thought a meeting used to go on hold if I picked up a call on my cell phone. Regular call, not a Teams call. Now it doesn't. Instead, if I pick up a call on my cell phone while in a meeting, the meeting continues. If I mute the audio on the meeting speakers, the cell will not pick up. I've had to leave the meeting, take the call (because work is demanding and I can't let emergent issues go), then try to get back onto the meeting. That assumes the other folks on the meeting will add me in. Not to mention, trying to work around it usually ends up with me slow enough that the caller drops the call. Is this a Teams app setting? Whether mobile and/or desktop? Or is this an admin setting? Wondering if an over-aggressive IT admin has locked a feature. Or is this the result of a recent change?29Views0likes0CommentsTeams Shared Calling
