More control with Teams chat notifications (Duration, marking as Read)
Currently in Teams it shows you if you have unread chats in your taskbar notification icon (small red bell). But to mark that notification as read you have to open up Teams and then highlight the conversation to mark it as 'Read'.
Does anyone know if there is a way, or given thought to building a way, to have more control over the notification pop-up that would allow you to control how long the notification displays when a new chat is received and to also add a button that would allow you to mark the chat as read rather than opening the entire Teams application? I'm not seeing this ability in either the "Teams built-in" or "Windows" notification styles.'
Thank you for your consideration!

Teams notification pops up on the screen (awesome). I can even preview it or see that it was just a completely unnecessary but polite thumbs up or thank you. The notification then disappears after a certain time, or, I choose to close it. That stuff is all good.
However, there is no way to mark it as read. This causes the Teams icon on the taskbar/and mobile to display unread messages until I go into the application, scroll through countless chats or futz with the buggy feed filters to find and open the message I just read, simply to tell Teams that I've seen it. That part is maddening.
Can you please put a button on the notification window to mark as read and close? Or, and possibly better, allow the close button to mark as read. That way, if it times out and disappears, it's still unread, but if the user actually clicks the close button, it goes away and marks it as read. - gauravvgandhiCopper Contributor
Has there an update since?
An option to mark a mail on outlook and a message on teams as read in the notification itself on android would be great. On the pc too, on the banner itself. - Jonas_fermeforsCopper ContributorYes! This would simplify things a lot.
