Practical Graph: Nag Users to Upgrade to a Strong Authentication Method
Convincing people to use MFA is one challenge. Convincing them to use a stronger authentication method than SMS is another. This article explains how to use PowerShell to find people still using SMS for MFA and send email to ask them to upgrade their authentication method. https://practical365.com/upgrade-stronger-authentication-method-mfa/32Views0likes0CommentsOneDrive document scanning resolution
This was raise 6 years ago, that you cannot set the resolution and so get very large file sizes. OneDrive Scanner Resolution | Microsoft Community Hub The only solution at the time was to "hold the camera further away from the document", which whilst it works, is not a professional solution! Also as cameras are getting to 50mpx these documents are getting extremely large whilst only needing to be perhaps 150dpi.... Is there still really no solution on the timeline? 6 years!!wcndaveMar 10, 2025Copper Contributor2Views0likes0CommentsAccept & Do Not Send a Response
Hi Calendar Community, We'd like your feedback & reactions to a change we're considering: Current experience: When attendees receive a meeting invite, they are provided with 3 response options: The first two options (Edit the response before sending & Send the response now) both send an email to the organizer, and the attendee's response is recorded in the organizer's tracking list. The third option (Do not send a response) does not notify organizer, so the attendee's response remains as "None" in the organizer's tracking list. What we'd like to change: Many users report that they expect Do not send a response to be recorded in the organizer's tracking list, but just not to send an email. We are considering updating the behavior so that all 3 response options are recorded in the organizer's tracking list. Attendees can still use the Do not send a response option to avoid sending email to the organizer, but their response would now be recorded & shared with organizer. Questions to the Community: Do you like this change? Does this match what you & others are expecting? What about when an organizer does not request responses (so there is just a simple Accept button without additional options)? Do you think the intention is to avoid email responses? In other words, would you expect this same behavior (responses are always recorded) to apply even when organizer does not request responses?SolvedJulia ForanMar 10, 2025Microsoft208KViews94likes303CommentsVisio Online: Can't Reduce Canvas Size
I have created a diagram using Visio online. My Canvas size is comically large compared to my design. when I go to Design->Size it shows that my canvas is set to 8.5x11. Given the size of my fonts and shapes my diagram should not be microscopic on an 8.5x11 canvas. Does anyone know how to shrink the canvas or what could be causing this issue?SeanBenjaminMar 10, 2025Copper Contributor56Views0likes2CommentsMicrosoft.Office.Interop.Word issues after the recent Office updates
We use the Interop.Word from a Winforms application for interaction with Word documents. Everything was okay until the latest Office 365 updates on 10/31. Word hangs when used from within Interop.Word. Issue resolved itself when Office update is rolled back. Did something happen or change with respect to Interop.Word during this update? I haven't seen any other reported issues regarding this.dashgirMar 10, 2025Copper Contributor103Views0likes1CommentPlaces app not working on mac

Hi - Trying to understand if there is a way to do the following in the Process Name(s) column in my spreadsheet: The Plan Name column has a drop down option with a link to a list of plans. When you click on the relevant plan for you, the Plan ID and Primary Resilience Rep data is pulled through via Vlookup. What I now need to do, is to be able to have a drop down on each row in the Process Name(s) column that will contain only those Processes that are associated with the selected Plan ID. The user can then select multiple processes (one per row). Its almost like I need to do a cross between a drop down list and a Vlookup. Any help much appreciated Thanks JamesJTB76Mar 10, 2025Copper Contributor14Views0likes1CommentWord 365 Read Aloud Natural Voices Not Available
I've spent days scouring the Internet, desperately trying to find a way to add modern natural voices to Read Aloud in Word 365 on my Windows 11. There used to be a pleasant voice available for months, but it suddenly disappeared, leaving me with the awful robotic voices like David, Mark, and Zira. As a book author who heavily relies on the read aloud feature for proofreading, this is a significant issue for me. To add to my frustration, I'm encountering a strange error message when I click on read aloud, stating that I need to log in to hear a voice, despite already being logged in. I've read numerous posts and articles on this topic, but unfortunately, I haven't found a solution anywhere. It's frustrating to see that voices like Aria in Edge and Narrator are fantastic, but they don't appear in Word 365 Read Aloud, where I need them the most. Microsoft seems to make this basic function needlessly complex and elusive, and what is going on with the login message? I would greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance in resolving this matter. Thank you!DigitalNinja1980Mar 09, 2025Copper Contributor2.4KViews3likes7CommentsOneNote Section renaming issues - VERY annoying
While renaming a Section, OneNote seems to have some sort of short timeout timer where if you don't start typing quickly enough, or don't hit enter soon enough after finishing, it completely bails on the renaming operation and reverts back to the previous name. The timer seems to be shorter when creating a new section. Hitting the "+" pops up a new section with the section label in edit mode. If you don't type something quickly enough (< 3 seconds) - it exits edit mode and leaves the label as "Section X". For section renaming, if you double-click on the section tab label, the label switches to "edit" mode and the full label is highlighted. If you wait too long to start typing, it either exits edit mode by itself or waits until you type something (anything) and exits edit mode completely ignoring what you typed. If you do type something but don't finish immediately by hitting enter, the timer expires and any keyboard input after the timer expires causes edit mode to exit and the new label you typed to be ignored. It seems this might be intentional (Ill-conceived) behavior - attempting to prevent inadvertent renaming of sections if someone accidentally presses keyboard keys or puts something on their keyboard that causes inadvertent keyboard presses. If that's the case it's an exceeding clumsy attempt and needs to be rethought. The current behavior in this regard is very annoying. If the desire is to ignore inadvertent section renaming, a study needs to be done to understand the characteristics of accidental keypresses. I'd be willing to bet that rapid same-character sequences that result from the same key being pressed and held are much more indicative of inadvertent input than the total time taken to start or finish a renaming operation after edit mode is entered. You could also create an additional hurdle to enter edit mode e.g. eliminating the doubleclick option and only allow right-click followed by drop drown menu selection. Has anyone else experienced this? Has Microsoft ever commented on this issue.ShawnPerselsMar 09, 2025Copper Contributor1.6KViews4likes2Comments
