OneDrive document scanning resolution

This was raise 6 years ago, that you cannot set the resolution and so get very large file sizes.

The only solution at the time was to "hold the camera further away from the document", which whilst it works, is not a professional solution!  Also as cameras are getting to 50mpx these documents are getting extremely large whilst only needing to be perhaps 150dpi.... 

Is there still really no solution on the timeline?  6 years!!
