Win 10 Open Folders - Cache
I was hoping the 23H2 update would fix my problem, but it did not. I have the same (4) folders always open on my desktop, and file explorer (explorer) crashes several times a day. I click on any file, mouse cursor gets jittery and and floats around for a couple seconds, then all my folders are gone, explorer (desktop) goes blank for a couple seconds while the explorer resets. I'm hoping someone can give me a directory or registry location where windows maintains a file that shows what folders are open on the desktop. My hope is to save that file, then every time explorer crashes I can just copy/paste the BU file to that folder. Clean install of Win 11 pro (3) weeks ago after a mobo replacement, I've had this problem every since I built this PC in March, never had this issue in Win 10.HunterBellSep 22, 2025Iron Contributor6Views0likes0CommentsDoes media teck make any drivers for the preloader vcomm port function specifically for windows 10?
I constantly have the "waiting for vcomm port" message when trying to execute a large number of the functions offered in the SAMFW program no matter how many different times, or ways I install the drivers. Also, just to save redundant replies, I have also tried several different sources and as far as can tell i have selected the proper arm64 ones i require... however, i have done the download, install/uninstall in auto and manual modes so many times that I an honestly not even sure what ones I have where. Also, yes, I am going to completely delete everything I can see that says media teck from my P.C. storage and installed apps and installed drivers lists etc. because I have read that multiple old insulations may cause some errors or malfunctions... HOWEVER, with all that frustration bearing down on my blocked little mind, i don't really wish to process any further suggestions as to the mode or method of driver acquisition or installation until i have first shook some proverbial trees here within the community as to WICH DRIVERS I SHOULD DOWNLOAD AND FROM WHERE? Please keep in mind that I am running windows 10 ( it seems that all the descriptions I have read from any of the packages i have downloaded are through in listing several compatible windows versions. (from 7 and 8 to vista, 2k and 10) HOWEVER, I cannot truthfully say that i can recall seeing windows 10 specifically in any of the compatibility list an that is the cause for the specific nature of my question. I will gladly accept any further required direction in order to move forward but I only wish to dive into that entire process after I'm satisfied that I am in fact using the proper drivers to begin with. After that, any common pitfalls or discrepancies that can be brought to my attention so as I may correct them before proceeding will be greatly appreciated,MatthewGreenSep 22, 2025Iron Contributor7Views0likes0CommentsLarge Hostfile in Windows 10?

Hi everyone, Like many here, I've been absolutely fascinated by the rapid explosion of AI image generators over the past couple of years. Now, it feels like the next major wave is AI video generation, specifically the ability to animate a static image into a short video clip. The progress from just six months ago is staggering. We've seen major releases from several key players: I'm looking for recommendations based on: Output Quality: Which one produces the smoothest and most realistic motion? Control: How much can you control the motion (e.g., direction, camera pan)? Ease of Use: Is it user-friendly for a beginner? Cost: What's the pricing structure? I'm open to paid options if they offer good value. What's your personal experience been? Which one would you call the current the best image to video ai generator without watermark and why? Thanks in advance!TomKimgSep 22, 2025Iron Contributor50Views0likes8CommentsHow can I force to install Windows 11 on unsupported PC?
I want to upgrade to Windows 11 from Windows 10 as I just received the news that it will be end of support soon. It is old DIY-PC but it is still a power horse. When I was trying to install Windows 11on this hardware, it came with an error message, saying this pc can't run this version of Windows 11. Hello, I cannot enrol in Windows 10 Extended Security Updates (ESU). I have Windows 10 version 22H2 installed, including KB5063709. OneDrive is installed. I have tried several times via: Open Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update. I can get to the screen that says "Enrol in Extended Security Updates to stay protected", but after I press 'next', I get a blank window with a wheel of death. After about a minute the window dies. Via a chat with one of the Microsoft support channels the problem may be relates to Windows Backup not working. I have tried several community articles to make this work, but cannot get it to work. I've also been told I need to go to Settings > Accounts > Windows Backup Make to make sure “Remember my apps” and “Remember my preferences” are turned on. but since I can't start Windows Backup, I cannot do this. Obviously with the deadline for registering for extended security deadlines approaching fast I am rather concerned... Please help.BrunswickSep 21, 2025Copper Contributor2Views0likes0CommentsUpdates questions
