How can I backup Android phone to Mac?
I want to backup some important data from Android phone in case of device lost. However, I could not find any built-in method to do this. USB connections often fail to transfer all data types like apps and system settings. Is there any reliable solution to backup Android phone to Mac. Should I use a specific desktop application or a cloud service with a Mac client? I prefer a direct cable connection for a local backup. The Android phone is Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra with Android 16 and my Mac runs the latest macOS Tahoe. Thanks for your help.FinleyGroveSep 04, 2026Iron Contributor1KViews1like9CommentsIs there a totally free text to speech software?
I am looking for totally free text-to-speech software that I can use on Android or iPhone to listen to written content instead of reading it on screen. I would like to paste in text, listen to articles, notes, or study material, choose a clear voice, and adjust the reading speed. The main requirement is that the core text-to-speech experience remains usable without a trial period, subscription, or a strict daily listening limit. Are there any genuinely free text-to-speech apps or methods that work well on mobile phones?NoahHelpSep 04, 2026Brass Contributor70Views0likes3CommentsWhere to download the full installer of Microsoft office 365 download?
Trying to set up Microsoft Office 365 on my new PC with a slow internet, so the little web-based installer that downloads everything piece by piece isn't going to cut it . I need the full package upfront so I can install Office on my Windows 11 PC in one go without constant re-downloading if the connection drops. Anyone know the proper way to download Microsoft Office 365 offline installer for PC? I want to make sure I'm going through a legitimate channel tied to an actual license/account rather than some random link, so pointers to the right official process would be great. P.S It should be working fine on both Windows 11 and Windows 10.Cynthia_SantanaMSep 04, 2026Iron Contributor94Views0likes9CommentsWindows10 Remove everything reset option fails with error There was a problem resetting your PC
When using the Remove everything option in Settings > Update & Security > Recovery, the reset process fails due to an error indicating a problem occurred while resetting the PC. The error occurs before the reset begins and persists even after multiple retries. Although running the reset from the recovery environment or using a USB installation medium may be successful, the built-in reset feature remains unavailable.MaverickLincolnSep 04, 2026Iron Contributor21Views1like1CommentAll the app icons on my Windows 10 system have turned into Zotero
I'm using an older Lenovo ThinkPad running Windows 10 Education (22H2), and recently many of my application icons have been replaced with Zotero icons. To make matters worse, any items I've pinned to the taskbar also appear as Zotero. The programs still run, but the icons are all messed up. Specs: i3-7100U, 8GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 620. Has anyone else encountered this issue?DeBertrandSep 04, 2026Iron Contributor22Views1like1CommentWindows10 Photos app fails to open HEIC images after the HEVC extension is installed

After waking the system from sleep mode, some taskbar icons appear as blank rectangles instead of normal application icons. Hovering the mouse over a blank icon or clicking it will temporarily restore the icon. This issue affects both pinned applications and running applications, and is more likely to occur when using a high-DPI display.WilliamHuangSep 04, 2026Iron Contributor15Views0likes0CommentsThere is no Virus & Threat Protection section at all in the Windows 10 Security Center
I built my own computer and reused an SSD from an old laptop that already had the latest version of Windows installed. I simply migrated the system over, ran a few updates, and reactivated Windows—everything seemed to be working fine. But now, when I open Windows Security, the Virus & Threat Protection section is missing. When I try to access that section, the system tells me that my IT administrator has restricted access—even though this is my personal computer and I’m the only administrator.XiounSep 04, 2026Iron Contributor18Views0likes0CommentsAn update starts exactly when i need to use the computer
Windows insists on starting mandatory updates precisely at the moment I power on my computer for urgent work, forcing me to wait through lengthy installation cycles. The update process consumes significant system resources and often requires multiple restarts, which severely disrupts my workflow during critical deadlines.AidensioSep 04, 2026Copper Contributor96Views0likes3CommentsWhat can I do with Windows PowerShell that isn't possible through Settings?
Windows PowerShell gives you deep system control that Settings simply cannot match, allowing you to automate repetitive tasks through scripts and manage hundreds of computers simultaneously from a single command line. You can also access and modify advanced system settings, registry entries, and hidden configuration files that remain completely inaccessible through the graphical Settings interface.FreyansSep 04, 2026Tin Contributor24Views0likes2Comments
