File sync recommendations?
I just have a bunch of HDDs that I mostly don't use. It's mostly media and files (~2TB) I will never modify. I can copy the data, but I won't know when something becomes corrupted. It's not super critical so I'm not investing in 3-2-1 backup philosophy. Basically, I imagine the software mirroring the HDD to another location, and the software also ensures files are identical and flags potential corruption for review, or even just repairs it on the go. Backup solutions with servers confuse me. I don't think sync options like Rsync will do anything to flag corruption. Just hoping for some opinions or recommendations. I'm running Windows 10, but also drive Linux a lot and will be transitioning this PC soon, so Linux and CLI recommendations are also welcome. I had previously disabled Windows Updates, but the system automatically re-enabled them and forced an update to the latest version. Not only are the interface changes in the new version poor, but there’s also a noticeable bug: regardless of where the mouse cursor is, the right-click menu always pops up to the left. So I've installed the files from fitgirl -> 94gb and then 164 gb of the game files . Which files can i delete so that I have ample space left ? I have tried a few different ways to get out of s mode but none worked, i have even reset my entire laptop and the same exact problem was still there. It had turned on when my laptop warned me it was on 10% battery and completely shut off after a minute, after i turned it back on it gave me a securityhealthsystray bad image pop up which idk if it has anything to do with the s mode problem but it happened along with it. Any advice would be appreciated as im not very good with computers.
How to make my computer run like new on Windows 10
Hello all, My Windows PC used to run great, but lately it feels much slower than it did when it was new. Boot time is longer, programs take more time to load, and the whole system just feels less responsive. Looking for advice on how to make a computer run like new again on Windows 10. Open to cleanup tips, maintenance steps, software tools, or hardware upgrades if they would help. Prefer solutions that are safe and not overly complicated. So I just tonight upgraded some of my hardware in my old rig. I was running an msi b450 gaming plus max and a ryzen 7 3600x. Tonight I swapped it out with a new msi b550 tomahawk max wifi (got it on marketplace for $140 Cad) and a new ryzen 7 5800xt. Everything is hooked up, it powers on, but I get a BOOTMGR IS MISSING, PRESS CTRL ALT DEL. Everything is hooked up, I thought I had my drives hooked up in order? I went into the bios and adjusted the boot to go off of what I think is my main drive. Still an issue. I'm still using windows 10, booting in LEGACY, NOT UEFI, my c drive is still mbr. It was working without issue before I did the upgrade.Performance issues in Overwatch
It's my first time trying linux so I installed CachyOs on my laptop. I tried playing overwatch via steam like I do on Windows 10 which runs at like 45 fps, my problem is that with the same config it runs at 15 fps on CachyOs. As a first-time linux user I wanted to know if there's a way to get better performance or that's just the way it is for me. Thankfully my laptop isn't my main gaming computer but wanted to give it a shot anyway.PC - Game doesn't launch :(
I've been playing genshin for a while now and my hoyoplay app works fine. i wanted to try hsr too and installed it but it doesn't launch. when i click play the game icon appears on my taskbar for about 4-5 seconds before going back to the hoyoplay app. no actual game window ever opens. i tried = - repairing - uninstalling and reinstalling ( both the game and the launcher ) - running hoyoplay app and starrail.exe as admin - updating graphics drivers and visual c++ - running the hoyoplay app and starrail.exe in compatibility mode - excluding everything hoyo and starrail related on antivirus software
