Battery Percentage Display on Windows 10 Taskbar
I don't know when they added this feature—I just reinstalled Windows and stumbled upon it while browsing through the settings. It’s incredibly useful (especially for laptop users like me). Until now, I had been using the "Battery Percentage Icon" app from the Microsoft Store.LucienwJan 19, 2026Iron Contributor6Views0likes0CommentsCan the file tabs in the new Notepad for Windows 10be opened directionally and saved independently?
The new version of Notepad supports multiple file tabs, but I have two questions: How can I directly open and navigate to a specific tab (instead of always activating the latest tab)? Are tabs treated as separate files, meaning they can only be saved individually by manually dragging them to the desktop or another location?OlddiesJan 19, 2026Silver Contributor30Views0likes1CommentGallery View and Screenshot Functionality in Windows 10 File Explorer
No pagination arrows in File Explorer's "Gallery" view? In the "Gallery" view of File Explorer, I cannot navigate through images using the left and right arrow keys, unlike in folders such as "Recent Downloads." Is this a specific limitation of this view or a missing feature? How can I modify screenshot saving behavior? I am accustomed to using the Shift + Alt + S shortcut to take screenshots. However, on my new computer, pressing the Print Screen key automatically saves the screenshot to the "Gallery." Is it possible to restore the Shift + Alt + S shortcut to only copy to the clipboard or adjust the automatic saving settings?JettStoneJan 19, 2026Iron Contributor24Views0likes1CommentCan the New Windows 10 Start Menu Hide and Freely Adjust the "All Apps" Area?
I hope the new Windows 10 Start Menu can offer the same flexibility as before, such as allowing the "All Apps" area to be hidden, freely resizing the Start Menu, or supporting a switch back to the older, more minimalistic layout.DaxxonFosterJan 19, 2026Iron Contributor4Views0likes0CommentsHow to Safely Delete 30GB of .MSP Files in Windows 10
A scan with WinDirStat revealed that approximately 30GB of .MSP files have accumulated on the system drive. These files are known to be related to software updates but occupy an unusually large amount of space. Attempting to use the Patchcleaner tool identified only 250MB of "orphaned files," while the remaining 29GB could not be cleaned due to filter limitations. Most of the file names appear in an unrecognizable encoding (as shown in the screenshot), making it impossible to determine their associated programs. It is necessary to safely remove these files to free up disk space while ensuring that existing software functionality remains unaffected.

Tried the bluetooth trick but the transfer speed is very slow, among 500kb/ps. It could take hours to compete as I have more 100 GB files to be transferred to my new Mac. By the way, the price of external hard drive is crazy these days. If you know a safe and fast way to transfer files from PC to Mac on the same network, please kindly let me know. It is a Windows 10 PC running Home 64 bit. The Mac is Apple Silicon M4 with latest macOS Tahoe 26. ThanksArcherFrostJan 18, 2026Iron Contributor49Views0likes7Comments
