Windows 10 unable to troubleshoot
Hello, I have an Asus laptop running Windows 10 and occasionally, it would lag (even offline while I am going through images like cropping a photo or clicking through document files- it would take 3 seconds for the action to occur)Apart from that, the start up would take tremendously long time. But since last week, I couldn't get past the black and/ blue screens after powering my laptop on ... I've already tried some, not all the troubleshooting available in the Advanced Options because even the loading alone doesn't always allow me to the next step as it shuts down instead. So I am tired of repeating the same cycle over and over again. I'll just briefly list the ones I WAS able to try and the messages I got from them for reference: Automatic Repair----- Automatic Repair couldnt repair your PC... c windows system32 logfiles srt srttrail.txt Uninstall Updates--- Not sure if it did anything because it didnt display another page Reset this PC: Keep Files.... tried both Cloud download and Local download and it both said "unable to download" Command prompt : I tried the 'recoveryenabled no' and 'safeboot minimal' Now I downloaded Media Creation Tool from a working computer in a USB but I cant even get to the blue screen. Is this how I can get it back? Or are there other options? I also wanted to make sure if I do this, will it get rid of personal files? If not, how do I make sure that I retain my files because I dont have a back up of all of them. Why my Windows PC Unresponsive Programs
My PC frequently becomes unresponsive, with certain programs freezing or stopping altogether, making it difficult to continue working or close them properly. This issue occurs randomly and affects different applications, regardless of whether they are lightweight or heavy, and I’ve already tried restarting the system and updating the software, but the problem persists. Often, the programs do not respond to keyboard or mouse input, and I have to forcefully end the tasks through the Task Manager, which is inconvenient and disruptive. I am seeking advice to understand the underlying cause of these unresponsive programs and how to fix them to ensure smooth and reliable performance on my PC.Registry Errors and System File Corruption on Windows 10
I am encountering persistent registry errors and system file corruption on my Windows 10 computer, which are causing frequent crashes, slow performance, and application errors. Despite running various troubleshooting tools and system scans, the issues continue to affect the stability and reliability of my system, making it difficult to use my PC normally.Windows 10 Installation problem help
The installation process either gets stuck at a certain point or fails to complete entirely. I have tried different troubleshooting steps, but the problem persists. I need help understanding what might be causing this and how I can successfully install Windows 10 without errors. Any advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated as I am unable to use my computer properly due to this issue.
How to Recover an EarthLink Email Account
If you've lost access to your EarthLink email account, follow these official recovery steps. EarthLink accounts are often used with third-party email clients like Outlook, so regaining access is important. Step 1: Use EarthLink's Webmail Recovery Tool Go to EarthLink's official website and click Sign In. Select Forgot Password? or Need help signing in? Enter your full EarthLink email address and the CAPTCHA shown. Step 2: Verify Your Identity EarthLink will ask you to verify ownership using one of these methods (if previously set up): Recovery email address – A code will be sent to your alternate email. Recovery phone number – A code will be sent via SMS. Security questions – Answer exactly as you set them up. Step 3: Reset Your Password Once verified, create a strong new password (at least 12 characters, with uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols). Confirm the password and save it securely. Step 4: Regain Access in Microsoft Outlook (if needed) Open Outlook and go to File > Account Settings. Select your EarthLink account and click Change. Update the password to the new one. Ensure the incoming/outgoing server settings match EarthLink’s current IMAP/POP3 settings. If you still can’t recover the account: Contact EarthLink Customer Support directly. They have a dedicated account recovery team. Be prepared to verify your identity with personal info (e.g., last billing date, full name on account). Important Tips: Always log in directly via EarthLink’s website before updating settings in Outlook. Never share your recovery codes or password with anyone. Keep your recovery email and phone number up to date within EarthLink.
Found an odd hang that leaves no record on host when triggered.
I have a really old system, and I bought a TPM 2.0 module to use on it. I hadn't realized all the details of using it (like needing to reinstall fresh to change secure boot mode). I assumed I could just leave it installed until I wanted to go through the full effort of activating it. And hoped it might be useful even if full secure boot mode wasn't being used. Now I've realized my host will start to hang for no reason with that module installed. With some odd symptoms/details too. I'll outline those later. I'm guessing this is a "not supported" or "don't care" from Microsoft, but figured I should mention it in case I'm wrong. And they see their own part in the bug as bad enough to do something about. Since there isn't any obvious explanation of what happens in the OS (event log explanation, etc), beyond that the system didn't shutdown properly and/or a bugcheck I couldn't decode anything from (system just hangs, doesn't reboot as it should, no debug dmp, etc). ------------ I can physically install the module and not see a hang for a while (days/weeks?) which makes it hard to connect the result to the cause. Then after using my computer for 8-10 hours already (around midnight or 1am at least a couple times now), it'll decide to hang. Then every reboot after that will hang after 1-3 minutes from login to desktop (unless in safe mode then sits indefinitely, or it lasted slightly longer in normal boot mode after I disabled all non-Microsoft services). I can do nothing except log in (or try to use it to open a bunch of stuff, no difference) then it'll hang. No obvious pointer in event log to what sub-system or event or a reason the issue happened. System is from circa 2017. i7-4790k CPU, z97 motherboard that only had a TPM header back then. Bought a semi-recent TPM 2.0 module off Amazon a couple/three years ago that matched the Gigabyte module type I couldn't buy direct anymore (Gigabyte had 3 different things that looked very similar). OS installed a long time ago, using mostly default BIOS options from before I knew anything about what they meant ("Other OS" not Windows 8 mode, etc). If module is installed then the BIOS says secure boot enabled, even when I disabled the TPM setting I could manually adjust. OS says secure boot was not enabled (followed directions online to look for some particular mode, like SC6?). I spent a lot of time trying to fix various oddities, like how Intel's XTU overclocking/BIOS settings tool left behind a service after I'd uninstalled it (pretty sure is connected to a "watchdog" to reset BIOS and reboot). Turning off Samsung's Optune cache performance feature. And tweaking various BIOS settings to see if they impacted anything, like disabling power saving modes, or various boot options (UEFI only vs Legacy only vs ...). Sadly managed to truly break my hardware in that debug/tweaking process. But this hanging issue was happening BEFORE that damage was done. Basically I've rarely used the hardware jumpers to clear CMOS before (removing the battery instead usually, or clear from inside BIOS), and I tried to do both but had it plugged in to AC power still accidentally. Saw a spark and it turned itself on when I shorted the pins. After that it was too late to do anything. Now only the CPU attached PCIe lanes seem to work. Meaning the 2 x 16x slots that'll run at 8x or above (GPU in one, and NIC or wifi in the other). I had to disable the onboard NIC and XHCI in BIOS to let my keyboard and mouse work after booting (outside BIOS). They wouldn't even light up (Logitech things I've had for ages now). And now the boot options include 3 boxes with odd, mostly white, hash marks covering the whole width of the screen. And there was some weirdness with duplicate names there (two Microsoft boot loaders pointing at the same drive entry, one at top and another much further down... below those cross hatched options). But my 5 internal SATA drives all seem to work still (2 SSD, 3 HDD). I don't expect Microsoft to pay for anything, but they're the only ones who could improve this situation for future users. The whole TPM/secure boot feature feels ugly and hard to understand. And anything that hangs the computer should be obvious/explicit in the log entries beforehand (save them with a flush and pause a little). That was another area I wasted time on (adjusting page file sizes manually, changing dump types, etc). Yes, I have the free ESL additional updates enabled for this system (1 year more of security only patches), and installed.

Having problems with the Microsoft Store app. When I launch it, it suddenly pops up with a message on the screen: "We're very sorry, an error occurred and the Microsoft Store could not be initialized. Please try updating or come back later." I've tried various methods to solve the problem, such as reinstalling with the "Update this PC" option in the Media Creator Tool to install Windows 10, and the problem still persists. I tried using PowerShell with the following command: Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"} Described in several answers for similar cases posted on the Microsoft community forum. Answer provided by user KapilArya on the hub "https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/discussions/windowsinsiderprogram/microsoft-store-wont-launch/1513414" Also, together with a support agent, a solution was attempted by creating a new user to solve the problem, but it didn't work. A diagnosis was also performed for the installation of Windows 11, but my computer doesn't have the minimum specifications for it to be installed. And even so, I still can't solve the problem and I wouldn't like to reinstall Windows 10 using external media (USB) because I would lose too much information about the applications and data that I have from several years of experience. I'm collecting and would like to know if I can do anything else to resolve this issue without losing data. I would like to get help as soon as possible. Thank you for your attention and help in resolving this issue. I attach evidence of the problem and the methods used.
