"New" Outlook is not great
I was forced to switch to the new version of Outlook. I have to have it for my job so I have no choice. So many things wrong when compared to the classic version. You would think that MS would migrate all the settings, views, etc. to the new version. But they didn't. -Event/reminder snooze options - now limited to two hours? Now I get reminders every two hours for something I need to snooze for days or weeks like I was able to before. -Contact views - can't view my contacts in the classic table format where I can filter/sort by company name or last name, etc. -Spell check now cleared by left mouse click instead of the usual right click like all other apps have. -No longer can select multiple email attachments like the classic version -Email folders cannot be sorted anymore Again...love Outlook but this new version is not a winner. MS...please bring back all the classic options!Rockeye12Apr 21, 2026Brass Contributor896Views6likes19CommentsConditional Formatting to New Outlook Calendar
Please bring Conditional Formatting to the New Outlook Calendar. This is a feature we have in Classic Outlook and something I use regularly to help maintain my organization. I've programmed it to color Work Time separate from Travel Time and various meeting categories so that visually I know a lot about the appointment just by the color.SolvedRyanW-Apr 20, 2026Copper Contributor49Views0likes2CommentsNew outlook reinstallation failed

I created an email address for RSVP purposes. I do not remember the password, and cannot find what I wrote it down on, and have never sent an email from it so I cannot provide enough information to recover the account. I have phoned support and all the bot does is refer me to the website reset which does not work. How can I talk to a real person or recover this account?23Views0likes0Comments"You've tried too many times to sign in with incorrect account or password"
Over the last 2 weeks or so, I have been receiving this message when I log into my email account. I haven't been logging in with the wrong information - I have been very careful. The message appears when I sign in via my lap-top and my mobile phone. I have even changed my password and cleared cache. It is causing me significant problems. What is the solution, other than waiting 24-48hrs for it to rectify itself? Thank you.ArtyMuseApr 20, 2026Copper Contributor202Views1like2CommentsOutlook Retrieves Emails But Fails to Put Then Into the Inbox
I have a brand new Dell desktop that replaced a previous Dell desktop computer. I have rebuilt everything on the new computer that was on the old, but have a very strange problem with Outlook. When I click on "Send/Receive", I see at the bottom right of the screen that it is retrieving a bunch of emails from the Gmail server. But upon completion of the retrieval, none of those emails appears in the Inbox. If I click again on "Send/Receive", the process repeats. And since I have set up retrieval to automatically issue the "Send/Receive" every three minutes, this process repeats and repeats, never placing the retrieved emails into the Inbox. I should also comment that the count of the emails only increases, telling me that those emails do not disappear from the server. I am using POP3, not IMAP. I am using Outlook Classic, not the new Outlook. I have been using Outlook for many, many years, and have successfully set up Outlook many, many times. But I am totally baffled by what I am seeing. I would appreciate any suggestions at all. Thank you. I am continuing to get a 'You've tried to sign in too many times with an incorrect account of password' error despite recently changing my password. The only way around this is to use my cell phone address to sign in vs. my email address. What do I need to do to 'reset' my account to not have this error message? ThanksCirrusSR22Apr 19, 2026Copper Contributor790Views2likes5CommentsUpdating security info
I'm just wondering how many years it takes to change the phone number in my account. Every time I try, I have to wait 30 days for security reasons. I let the time pass and then when I try to change it, the timer starts again. 90 days so far. Tech support doesn't know how to help me. They just tell me to wait again. Just about to abandon hotmail completely and go with a service that can provide at least some level of support.ed_munozmoneyosApr 19, 2026Copper Contributor2.2KViews1like3CommentsWhen cancelling a meeting, the option for not notifying participants is gone
The new Outlook (Microsoft 365) is no more offering the option for not notifying participants when cancelling a meeting. Problem description: In the past, when I scheduled a meeting with 1 other person and that person declined, I cancelled the meeting and got asked if I want to notify participants yes or no. I opted for no., since the other person already cancelled the meeting and it got removed from their calendar. A notification about me cancelling it as well was perceived as spam. Now this option is gone and the person who cancelled already will receive another meeting cancellation notification for the meeting that is anyway no more on his/her calendar. Request for help: Does anyone no about the option for not notifying participants when cancelling a meeting?henrikblaesingApr 19, 2026Copper Contributor40KViews2likes10Comments
