Outlook Classic "hangs" if I want to open attachments
I have outlook classic on 3 PCs. Within the last month, I have noticed that it takes an incredibly long time to open attached files. Outlook "hangs" for up to 1 minute, and then the file opens. The same thing happens if I copy a file from one email to another. Does anyone have an idea what is causing this. It is quite annoyingTorzenApr 18, 2026Copper Contributor43Views0likes1CommentEmail address adding - removal?

I just started having an odd issue with all the contacts in the Outlook app on my Android phone... For contacts that have multiple contact information (ie: a mobile number, house number, and or email address) listed, the app is breaking out the contacts as separate contacts. Example: If I have James Kirk listed in my phone with a number of 555-111-1701 and an email address as jkirk@fakedomain, he no longer shows up on my phone as James Kirk; instead there are two contacts - one called 555-111-1701 and the other jkirk@fakedomain. Contacts show up correctly in the Outlook desktop app and on the Outlook website. If I modify or add contacts on the desktop app, the change is almost immediately reflected on the Outlook website. Some of the troubleshooting I've done already: Cleared the app cache from the Phone's settings Reset the account from within the app disabled/re-enabled contact synchronization Modified a contact on the desktop app to see if they'd re-sync correctly - had no effect Deleted the account (the contacts disappear when deleted, but come back janky when it's re-added) Uninstalled and re-installed the app Rebooted the phone (for good measure) uninstalling and re-installing the app seemed to fix the problem initially. Right when i setup the app again all the contacts came back looking correct. It's been several hours since I did this and i just took a look at my contact list and it's all janky again. It's not just a visual issue on the phone - it's affecting Contact synchronization with the phone's contact app, and everything else on the phone that relies on contacts. Any idea what's going on and how to fix it for good? TIAUserzeroApr 17, 2026Copper Contributor75Views1like7CommentsTurn of copilot in new outlook
There is a serious problem with Copilot turning itself back on in the new Outlook. I would like to ask Microsoft engineers a simple question: What is the purpose of the Copilot toggle button? What is the point of a button that turns itself back on after 15 minutes? Why are you treating users this way, with such an aggressive approach to software we paid for? The situation is extremely simple: If I turn off Copilot, I also lose the Summarize function — which I never wanted in my email client. I do not want you to offer to read my messages for me and retell them. The Copilot button bothers me, and Copilot itself bothers me. I do not need it. When I turn it off, it comes back. What is the point of this? Are you trying to force people into accepting something they clearly do not want? The only way to disable it is to block content analysis. But if I do that, spell check stops working. That is extremely manipulative. I have no words.VladiFiliApr 16, 2026Brass Contributor810Views10likes12CommentsInserting tables and formatting in Outlook for web
Please could anyone help with the problem of inserting tables into an e-mail message in the web version of Outlook? The previous workaround of converting the message to HTML has been removed by Microsoft. Now the insert table is permanently greyed out (along with other formatting buttons) There does not seem to be any way of converting the message from plain text to HTML. This is proving to be really frustrating, so any help from the community would be very much appreciated. I'm a long time user of Outlook - from long before it became Classic. It was a perfectly viable email client - not perfect but useable. I tried New Outlook when it was first promoted, and quickly switched back because it was functional deficient at the time. Since then, Microsoft have introduced issues into Classic Outlook - specifically: It can't maintain a set Office theme. I can set a theme (the Microsoft default system setting) but it corrupts and highlights in black (for example) after a short while. (I believe after the PC switches off the screen or the PC sleeps) It 'corrupts' while composing longer emails meaning that I cannot send or save the draft but must start again from scratch. I tried new Outlook again - it's not as bad as it was - but: It still doesn't allow me to present my email accounts in the order that I want to see them. It doesn't manage Contacts and Contact Lists correctly - while Classic Outlook does. So I now have my PC set-up to use both Classic and New Outlook and have to switch between them depending on what I need to do ... 🤷♂️😠 My requirements aren't trivial, but they are not that complicated: I need to manage multiple email accounts - around 10 in all. I want to be able to present them in my 'most used' order - i.e. I want the ability to sort the order of accounts. I have a Microsoft account that I use to log-in to my PC etc. My default email account is Gmail My default calendar account is Microsoft I want a single default set of Contacts and Contacts lists that I can use in conjunction with any of my ten email accounts I want my email client to be stable Is that too much to ask? And why, oh why, can't Microsoft deliver such a solution?philip42hApr 16, 2026Copper Contributor50Views0likes1Comment"You've tried too many times to sign in with incorrect account or password"
Over the last 2 weeks or so, I have been receiving this message when I log into my email account. I haven't been logging in with the wrong information - I have been very careful. The message appears when I sign in via my lap-top and my mobile phone. I have even changed my password and cleared cache. It is causing me significant problems. What is the solution, other than waiting 24-48hrs for it to rectify itself? Thank you.ArtyMuseApr 16, 2026Copper Contributor103Views1like1CommentConditional Formatting to New Outlook Calendar
Please bring Conditional Formatting to the New Outlook Calendar. This is a feature we have in Classic Outlook and something I use regularly to help maintain my organization. I've programmed it to color Work Time separate from Travel Time and various meeting categories so that visually I know a lot about the appointment just by the color.RyanW-Apr 16, 2026Copper Contributor35Views0likes1Comment'You've tried to sign in too many times with incorrect account/password'
I am continuing to get a 'You've tried to sign in too many times with an incorrect account of password' error despite recently changing my password. The only way around this is to use my cell phone address to sign in vs. my email address. What do I need to do to 'reset' my account to not have this error message?
