Having recently upgraded to the latest version of Remote Desktop for Mac, problems are reappearing that were resolved many years ago when we were able to liaise directly with the Microsoft Mac development team via HockeyApp, a situation sadly no longer possible.   There is a reoccurence of model type windows opening behind a foreground window. These are application built modal windows, not macOS system modal windows. This is particularly a problem when having an external display connected to a MacBook - seemingly a configuration rarely tested, despite being so commonly used.   The only solution is to continuously use the 'Assign To' each display and use 'Show All Windows' from the Dock, click on the modal window and eventually it will/may appear at the front so it can be closed. When the modal window is in the background it is not responding to any keyboard input, such as the 'Esc' key.   We've now reverted to Remote Desktop Version 10.9.6 (2188), which doesn't appear to be so badly affected, as the beta is now unusable to us. Please add few icons on a toolbar to force the copy/paste from/to as macos screen sharing tools do. I got the Microsoft Remote Desktop Beta running, there was a disconnected session with a popup that it lost connection which I forgot. Today I wanted to install a macOS update and I expected it to restart automatically. When I came back the restart was interrupted by the RDP client which is annoying. Please silently quit the app if the system wants to restart. There is nothing important in this client that needs to keep blocking the restart, no data can be lost. When you use MS Remote Desktop on MacOS in Fullscreen mode and the cursor incidentally touches the upper side of the screen, the MacOS menu bar immediately drops down and that is very annoying and interrupts the work process. On the other hand, there is a Parallels Client app on MacOS and there the MacOS menu bar drops down with a couple of seconds delay, so I guess it is not impossible to handle the delay of the MacOS menu bar dropdown. I have reported the problem to Apple.    Are you aware of the issue? Smart card pass-through on version 10.9.3 (2158) does not work on macOS Sonoma. The smart card reader works to log into the virtual desktop, but once there it can't be used to sign in to anything within the virtual environment.
