Suggestions for a replacement solution
We are a small UK provider delivering IT apprenticeships and "Free Courses For Jobs". We have been using Azure Labs for a number of years to host instructional labs for our learners. We have found it to be of huge benefit to our learners in terms of allowing them to develop their IT Support and Engineering skills further by putting their knowledge into practice. The platform has been ideal for us, and we are experiencing difficulties finding an alternative solution. DevTest Labs lacks a lot of the functionality we need (the ability to limit learners to a number of hours use of a particular lab vm for example). We have approached the Microsoft recommended partners, however they have all but said we are too small to be of commercial interest -our current Azure Lab spend varies from around £300pm to circa £700 per month. Wondering if any other providers have found themselves in a similar situation and if they have found any viable solutions? All suggestions welcome.10Views0likes0CommentsUnauthorized external user joining Class Team call
On one of our online school days, we had someone asking to join from the lobby with a changed display name with a swear word. We do not allow guest access on our platform. We do not have a log as the person was not admitted into the meeting. However everyone saw the message " so and so" is waiting in the lobby. also next to the name "External" appears. How can we stop this happening again? what should I advice our admin to set up as policies?71Views0likes0CommentsGuidance Needed: Using Azure Lab Services for AZ-104, AZ-700, AI & Cybersecurity Training
Hello everyone, I’m planning several upcoming training programs (AZ-104, AZ-700, and other AI and cybersecurity–related certifications), and I’m considering using Azure Lab Services for the student labs. I haven’t used Azure Lab Services before, so I’d really appreciate insights from anyone who has real experience with it. Specifically, I’d like to understand: - Does each student receive their own individual login and lab environment? - How much control does the instructor have over the virtual machines (start/stop, reset, limits, schedules)? Is Azure Lab Services limited to VMs only, or can students also work with other Azure resources such as load balancers, firewalls, VNets, etc.? - One of my key objectives is for students to learn how to build and deploy VMs themselves. Is this supported within Azure Lab Services, or is it more focused on pre-built lab environments? - Students also should work with Entra ID, So create and manage users with RBAC. Is it covered? From your experience, what is the approximate cost per student per month, and how manageable is cost control? Any additional guidance, best practices, or lessons learned would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to reply here or DM me if that’s easier. Thank you in advance for your support. Best regards, Ali M.47Views0likes0CommentsUnmute participants as the meeting organizer.

Hi together, we use School Data Sync version 2.1 with a configured flow for automatic import of the current CSV files runs normally without any visible errors, but the data from the CSV files is not imported from the local server. I created the flow from “Automate CSV upload for task data synchronization.” In the flow, I was also able to open and select the local file system via the data gateway, so there is a connection to the server. The problem is that the files are not being imported. Can anyone help with this error? THX Nik92Views0likes1CommentRestoring deleted Class Notebook Pages and Sections
According to Microsoft guidance, deleted pages can be restored from the authors OneDrive: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/recover-deleted-class-notebook-files-from-the-onedrive-recycle-bin-b4b4aaa6-b03f-4808-8da2-51680ad53448. In our experience, this does not work, the deleted pages do not go into either the teacher or the students OneDrive and there is nothing in the OneNote/Notebook recycle bin. By default History is turned off on Class Notebooks and even when manually enabled, it does not track pages or sections deleted by students in the web client. Deleted content disappears into a blackhole. This seems to be worsened by the fact that a Class Notebook is a consolidation of content from several places. Some content is in the underlying Teams SharePoint stored in Site Contents, other content is in Site Assets and the actual students work hidden in their OneDrive!? This makes impossible to restore from backup (unless anyone on here knows a way). We have Barracuda Cloud-Cloud backup for our MS365 but there is no way it can cope with restoring this. Why on earth Microsoft see this as acceptable is beyond me? All the content needs to be in one place so that elements or the whole thing can be easily restored. There is a user voice around this. Please add to it if you have experienced this issue: https://onenote.uservoice.com/forums/362784-education/suggestions/41535760-ability-to-easily-restore-student-deleted-pages-an Thanks7.7KViews3likes7CommentsAssignments not accessible in Teams
The Assignment app has stopped accessibility from our classes in Teams. When student click on an new assignment, the notification that comes up is: Something went wrong - come back later ... and that has been for several months. The same goes for teachers who try to open the from the team. I can only make an assignment when I go to the global app in the Me space. And when I assign it, the students can't open it, and have to go to the Me space. Does anyone know how to fix it? We love the app, so we want it to work as smooth as possible. Hello,I'm a Greek teacher of English (TESOL).Yesterday I tried the new Challenge, Hour of AI- the First Night. Playing with my student, I kind of "studied" the detailes of this world, and I would highly recommend it to language teachers, too, not only ITs or CSs. It can be used as part of reading, speaking, listening and writing skills development, as the core of a CLIL lesson and as general students' awareness raising of how we can use AI safely, ethically and to our benefit. Please note that safely, ethically and to our benefit aren't buzz or empty words, but have the whole issues that concern teachers ,parents and other members of society.Worth trying and taking seriously.249Views1like2CommentsAI-powered Teach Module in M365 now rolled out to all educators!

As an educator and advocate for learner-centered support, I’ve always believed that clarity and emotional resonance can transform professional growth. This year, I created a digital vision board that blends intention, inspiration, and strategy—designed not just to motivate, but to guide my outreach, PD design, and documentation systems. Each image, quote, and layout reflects a core value: privacy-first automation, human-first instruction, and resilient systems that empower both educators and learners. I’m sharing it here to spark conversation, collaboration, and maybe even a few new ideas for your own journey. Let’s build something beautiful together—one vision, one workflow, one act of renewal at a time. https://parentsandteachers-my.sharepoint.com/:p:/g/personal/smtoth_americalearns_online/ET6B7VgkZNdBjBqOa5UkWEIB5HgO8sDn5txJQVn08mds2A 💬 I’d love to see what’s inspiring you this season. If you’ve created a vision board—digital or analog—drop a link or screenshot below. What themes are guiding your work? What visuals keep you grounded? Let’s build a gallery of renewal, one board at a time.74Views2likes0CommentsTeams Breakout rooms
As I'm new in this community, I don't know if this issue has been raised before, so forgive me if I'm repeating it: In our ELT school in Corinth, Greece, we have been using MSTeams since the covid pandemic and we haven't found a practical and well-functioning way to monitor all the breakout rooms at the same time. I hope there has been some improvement in this. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.92Views2likes0CommentsWhat's the difference between School Data Sync (Plan 1) and School Data Sync (Plan 2)?
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/schooldatasync/create-users-for-k12-and-hed#prerequisites-for-sds mentions among the "perquisites to enable SDS for user creation" are School Data Sync (Plan 1) or School Data Sync (Plan 2). Microsoft Partners have access to documents that explain Office 365 Education Plan A1 includes School Data Sync (Plan 1) while both Microsoft 365 and Office 365 Education Plan A3 and A5 include School Data Sync (Plan 2). However, I can't find any details about the differences between the SDS plans on: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/academic/compare-office-365-education-plans https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/office-365-platform-service-description/office-365-education, which doesn't even mention SDS https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/office-365-platform-service-description/microsoft-365-education https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/buy-license/microsoft365/ [EDIT] https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/licensing/product-licensing/microsoft-365-enterprise?activetab=m365-enterprise:primaryr7 mentions "School Data Sync Plan 2 (plan details can be found https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/schooldatasync/)" - but there are no details about the plan there Does anyone know what the distinction is between School Data Sync (Plan 1) and School Data Sync (Plan 2)?Solved4.8KViews0likes4CommentsAI Agents in Free Copilot Chat.
Hi all! When Agents were first introduced into Copilot Chat for free, you used to be able to upload 20 knowledge resources. Now this has been cut back to 4 web URLS only, and each of these can only be 2 forward slashes deep - we are really struggling on using agents successfully. Based in the UK, all of the Department for Education content is more than // deep in their web. We can't upload docs from the PDF's and most other juicy web content is much deeper in the domains than 2 x // I would love to hear from other Copilot Chat Agent users in how you are working with the barriers of the free version in your setting. Paid licenses are just not an option on UK school budgets sadly. Thanks all!110Views1like0CommentsRemoving students from Team created class notebooks
Here's an interesting one: When a new student is added to a Team, they also arrive in class notebook. But when they are removed from the Team, they remain in the notebook. When you go to 'add or remove students' via the desktop add-in, the notebook concerned isn't in the available list. Is it just us or has anyone else found this?
