'Hide' assignments

Hi

I am new to the MS Teams Classroom and really like the way it looks so far.

I teach a group that is self paced and want to be able to give access to assignments to individual students once the have completed the learning materials, is this possible? I find that when the assignments are available my students tend to go straight there skipping the learning materials.
