Latest Windows 11 Update Delete My Bluetooth Software
Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron 17 laptop. I have just updated the latest Windows 11 dated September 8. All of a sudden, my Bluetooth was not working anyway. I checked what software was affected by the update, it showed the Bluetooth software was removed. I tried to install the software again via Dell website and restarted, still no Bluetooth. In the Settings, Bluetooth was not shown so I cannot turn it on. What can I do to get Bluetooth back ? Any suggestions and comments are much appreciated. Thank you.26Views0likes0CommentsThe Complete Guide to Widgets in Windows 11

I recently backed up my iPhone to my Windows PC using iTunes as a precaution. I now need to retrieve some specific information from that backup, like old text messages and photos, but I've discovered the backup files themselves are unreadable without special software. I need a safe and reliable way to explore iphone backup file and extract my data. I found the backup folder on my computer, but the files have scrambled names. I'm hesitant to try random software from the web. Could anyone recommend a trusted method or tool for viewing iPhone backup contents? I'm open to both free and paid options if they are effective. Thanks for any advice you can offer.7Views0likes0CommentsWindows not recovering from sleep

My older PC, which must run Windows 7 for legacy application support, has failed to boot into the desktop. I need to perform a repair installation or reinstall the OS to get it working again. To do this, I require a genuine Windows 7 ISO file. I own a valid product key for the software. Could a moderator or community expert please provide Windows 7 ISO file download for 32 bit and 64 bit? I want to ensure I get an unmodified version directly from a trusted source to avoid any security risks. Windows 7 Ultimate and Professional are fine for me!55Views0likes7CommentsCan no longer make sense of OneDrive after new installation of Windows
I've been using OneDrive for years to backup the contents of my documents folder. Nothing fancy, just a means of ensuring that everything I create is safely stored in the cloud. It worked perfectly for me until the other day, when I built a new PC with a fresh installation of Windows 10. Now, OneDrive has created a new version of my documents folder (which is on an external hard disk) in the 'Users' folder on my C drive. Furthermore, it isn't uploading new files I create in my original documents folder. Is there any way I can regain control of OneDrive so that I can make it behave as before. Actually, just understanding what the hell it's doing now would be a start.5Views0likes0CommentsHow to force Windows 11 to update to the latest version?
I am trying to force my Windows 11 PC to update to the latest version (25H2) but am having no success. The Windows Update settings page simply says "Your device is up to date" with an older build number. I have run the Windows Update Troubleshooter, which found and fixed minor corruption, but it did not make the latest feature update appear. I also attempted to use the "Check for updates" button multiple times without any change in the status. How to force Windows 11 to update to the latest version? I would like to avoid a clean install if possible. Could a Microsoft Support agent please guide me through the correct process to manually trigger this major update?57Views0likes7CommentsStill possible to upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 for free?
Hello, I am looking for guidance on upgrading my computer from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. My understanding is that the free upgrade offer has officially ended, but I have read that it might still be possible using Windows 10 installation media. I want to ensure I perform this upgrade correctly without losing my personal files and that my device is compatible with the newer operating system. Could someone from the community or support team please confirm the current official method for this Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 upgrade? I would greatly appreciate any links to the official Microsoft installation tool and a checklist of steps I should follow before beginning, such as backing up data and checking drivers.49Views0likes6CommentsVortex IX first look

Had my almost 10 year old desktop killed by a power surge, PSU and motherboard were fried. I've tried finding the licence key on the still working C: but no luck. Having a new desktop built and Win 11 is being installed (not buying a licence). If I log into my Microsoft account on this new machine will it automatically licence itself? When I log into my Microsoft account it doesn't show that I ever purchased Win 10.10Views0likes0CommentsMessenger wont open on Windows 10
Been having a weird issue with my Facebook Messenger app lately, figured I'd see if anyone else has run into this. I’ve been getting by using the web version for now, but for some reason, the Messenger app on my system just won’t open anymore. It used to work fine, I had the Windows Store version set to open on startup, no problems. Then, out of nowhere, it just stopped launching. It shows as running in task manager, its not behind anything, just nothing. I’m not sure if an update broke it or what, but I’ve tried almost everything to fix it. I uninstalled/reinstalled it through the Windows Store, tried the desktop version from the official site, ran all my Windows updates, did a disk cleanup and optimization, even grabbed an older version from a file mirror site just to see if that helped but no luck. I also ran DISM scans to check if it was something OS-related, but that didn’t help. At this point, I’m pretty stuck unless I resort to reinstalling Windows, which feels like overkill for such a small issue. It’s just so much easier to use the app when I’m dealing with clients that rely on Messenger (and sadly, a few do). Using it in the browser is fine, but I’ve had problems missing notifications if I close a tab or don’t catch them in time. Anyone else run into this lately or figured out a fix? Would really appreciate any ideas.10Views0likes0CommentsHow to Restore Missing Arrows from Desktop Shortcut Icons
My Windows 11 desktop has shortcut icons, the little arrows of which have all disappeared. Shortcut icons appearing elsewhere (other than the desktop) display correctly, with the arrow identifying them as shortcuts. I want to restore the desktop shortcut icons so that they appear correctly, with the small arrow identifying them as shortcuts, as opposed to files or folders. How can I do this? Thanks!13Views0likes1CommentCan't uncheck Read Only in Folder and files
I've done a lot of google searches with no fix. I have a Folder on a USB external 4T drive that was originally on a different computer that I still have. It is a folder with many subfolders and 4500 files. The files were encrypted and I got rid of that, but are all Read Only under Properties I'm logged into Windows 11 with an administrator account to access and modify file permissions. I have tried the regular things like: Take Ownership of the Folder Add Your User Account to the Security List Grant Permissions: In the Permissions window, select your user account and then check the boxes for the appropriate permissions - ALL THE CHECK BOXES UNDER FULL ARE GRAYED OUT REGEDIT HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Control\\FileSystem.NtfsDisableEncryption: is set to 011Views0likes0CommentsIssue with the previous dev insider update 27938.1
I've been on the windows insider dev channel for several years with no issue then on September 10th after I installed the new update (previous canary build I believe) I started experiencing issues with basic windows core apps: microsoft store (not updating/restoring apps), photos, microsoft 365 copilot, notepad, phone link, xbox, and cross device experience host. I ran through all the troubleshooting steps for the store so I could fix the apps (clearing cache, repairing/resetting in settings, sfc/dsim, flush dns, etc.) and everything still doesn't work. I can't even open photos I have saved on my device. Rolling back the update didn't work and neither did updating to the latest build 27943.1. Could someone please reach out and help me figure out what went wrong with that update and advise me on next steps? Trying to see if I can resolve these issues without doing a clean install of windows. Please and thanks!11Views0likes1CommentVirtualized Intel VT-x/EPT is not supported on this platform.

Dear Microsoft, I have been a Windows user for many many years now and I loved windows for many years, but now I'm seriously leaving windows now. Since windows 10 you have been removing user rights in the windows and forcing your way of using the system onto us users, which I simply cannot accept anymore. If I buy a licens to Windows, then I should be the only one in charge of my windows install. Yet if I disable a function/service then you just turn it back on next time I update windows. Thats NOT RIGHT. And now you are removing the option to turn off these function/service, why? Leave my windows install alone. The latest issue you have done is removing the option to remove Copilot. When Copilot first was introduced, I could just uninstall copilot, and it was gone from my pc. Then you change it, so that if I disabled copilot it would disappear - I was fine with that. But now I can't even disable copilot in windows, the option is gone from the setting menu. And it everywhere in windows now and always in your face. I don't want to use it. If I want to use AI, I use ChatGPT (I know you own OpenAI) in the web browser, I just do not want copilot anywhere one my system, because I don't use it and is not going to use it. In your apps, like outlook, word, etc., you still allow users to disable copilot. However, before some update when a user disabled copilot it would disappear from the toolbar - Nice! But you changed that. Now the copilot button is still there, even if I actively disable it - WHY? Again, I do not want to use copilot which is why I'm actively disable it. So please, respect users' decision and stop forcing unwanted service onto users, especially when they have made an active decision to disable the set function/service. I'm leaving Windows for Linux. Outlook for Proton, Xbox for SteamOS, Office for Libre Office, Onedrive for Dropbox. I'm leaving Microsoft and all their products since they are not worth it anymore.14Views1like0Comments
