When i open a file using excel for desktop i see the next message:

We found an issue with a "file name.xlsm" content. Do you want us to try to recover as much as we can? If you trust the source of this workbook, click Yes.

When the log with the errors found is displayed, the following is displayed:

The error message you're encountering indicates that there are issues with the content of the Excel file you're trying to open. It appears that some records or formulas have been removed from the file. The file may have been corrupted, or there may be compatibility issues.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:

  1. Try to Recover the File: Click "Yes" when prompted to recover the file. Excel will attempt to recover as much data as possible. This can work if the corruption is minor.
  2. Open the File in Excel Online: Sometimes, Excel Online may be able to open a file that the desktop version cannot. Try uploading the file to your OneDrive or SharePoint and open it in Excel Online.
  3. Check for Backups: If you have backup copies of the file, try opening one of those to see if it's not corrupted.
  4. Revert to a Previous Version: If the file is saved on a network or cloud location, some services allow you to revert to a previous version of the file. Check if your file hosting service has this feature.
  5. Check for File Corruption: The file may have become corrupted. In such cases, it's challenging to recover the data completely. You might need to consider restoring from a backup or recreating the content.
  6. Compatibility Mode: If the file was created in a newer version of Excel, opening it in an older version might result in some features not being compatible. Ensure that you're using a version of Excel that is compatible with the file.
  7. Antivirus and Security Software: Sometimes, security software can interfere with file access. Temporarily disable your security software and try opening the file again.
  8. Copy Contents to a New File: If you can't recover the original file, you may need to copy and paste the contents into a new workbook.
  9. Seek Professional Help: If the data in the file is critical and none of the above methods work, you may need to consult with a professional data recovery service.

Remember to make a backup of the corrupted file before attempting any recovery or repair, as some methods can further damage the file.
