On January 31 and February 1, 2024, Microsoft hosted its first-ever Global Nonprofit Leaders Summit in Bellevue, Washington. The summit was a two-day event that brought together nonprofit executives from around the world to learn, share, and collaborate on how to leverage technology and artificial intelligence (AI) for their missions. The summit featured keynote speakers, panel discussions, how-to sessions, demos, workshops, and networking opportunities with leaders across the nonprofit community. Some of the highlights included: Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President of Microsoft, welcomed the attendees and shared Microsoft’s vision and commitment to empower nonprofits with technology and AI. Trevor Noah, Comedian, TV Host, and Author, entertained the audience with his witty and insightful Q&AI session, where he asked and answered questions about AI, ethics, and social impact. Dr. Fei-Fei Li, Professor and Co-Director of Stanford’s Human Centered AI Institute, inspired the attendees with her keynote on how to design and use AI for good, with a focus on human values, diversity, and inclusion. Hadi Partovi, Founder and CEO of Code.org, shared his story and passion for computer science education and how nonprofits can use AI to scale their programs and reach more people. Lauren Woodman, CEO of DataKind, moderated a panel of nonprofit leaders who shared their experiences and best practices on how they are using AI to enhance their work in areas such as fundraising, marketing, and program delivery. Jaime Teevan, Chief Scientist and Technical Fellow at Microsoft, introduced the Nonprofit Community, a new online platform where nonprofits can connect, learn, and access exclusive resources and opportunities from Microsoft and its partners. Afua Bruce, Author of The Tech that Comes Next and Founder and Principal of ANB Advisory Group, closed the summit with a call to action for nonprofit leaders to embrace technology and AI as a catalyst for change and innovation. The summit also launched the Nonprofit Community, a new online platform where nonprofits can connect, learn, and access exclusive resources and opportunities from Microsoft and its partners. The Nonprofit Community is a place for nonprofits to share their stories, challenges, and best practices, as well as get support and feedback from peers and experts. If you missed the chance to attend the summit, you can still watch the recordings of the virtual sessions by visiting the summit website and using the code VIRTUAL. You can also join the Nonprofit Community platform to learn, connect, and collaborate with the nonprofit community and Microsoft. The Microsoft Tech For Nonprofit Global Conference was a unique opportunity for nonprofit leaders to join the inspir AI tion and discover how to harness the power of technology and AI for social good. We hope you enjoyed the summit and we look forward to seeing you at the next one. 🙌 Here are few clicks;2.9KViews7likes17CommentsEM+S E3 50 Seat Legacy donation - some customers being charged - why?
Hi, Bit of a niche question and probably only relates to non-profit customers who subscribed to this prior to September 2019. I know that back in September 2019 it was announced that the non-profit donation of 50-seat Microsoft 365 Enterprise Mobility + Security E3 was being discontinued for new customers, but Microsoft said then that customers who had already procured these donated subscriptions could keep them in perpetuity as a legacy donation. A couple of our clients have received renewal invoices for this product but with the non-profit staff pricing rather than the donation pricing. Of customers who have had a renewal recently, only 2 have been charged with others still receiving the donation. These are all Direct Bill customers. I know that the Office365 E2 Grant is being discontinued from October renewals but have not seen anything similar for the EM+S E3 donation. Have I missed something? Has anyone else experienced similar? I have reached out with a service request but the suggested explanation was way off the mark, saying that it was due to changing from monthly to annual billing, which wasn't the case, as shown by the previous year's zero annual invoice. Appreciate your input. Thanks, Colin7.1KViews2likes14CommentsSigning up for Non-profit 365 basic
Hi We are based in the UK, and I have signed up for MS non profit via TechSoup and Charity Digital; I have been told that we have been approved as a non-profit. I have set up the MS Admin Center and associated our domain. When I come to select the free MS 365 basic package from Billing|Purchase Services for our users I am offered the "paid for" version - no free version available. I have also noticed that when I log into the Nonprofit Hub (not even sure what this is, or whether it's important), I get the message: "Something went wrong We cannot allow you to proceed at this time. Please contact support and reference message code 920-123190 and transaction 5077c6a9-8a5b-4b35-af78-3291ed34dc25. I have posted a query with support, but nothing has happened. We are a small, newly established, UK charity and MS is a very important step for us, can I have some help please to set up our MS Non-profit account. Thanks Ian1.2KViews0likes13CommentsInteresting question posed to me yesterday
Since MS's Nonprofit Global Leaders Summit, I have been talking to many people in our organisation about the benefits of Gen AI and trying to allay fears that it is going to take their jobs. However, yesterday a person getting started with her career asked me an excellent and very valid question that I did not know how to answer. I thought I would bring it to this community to see if anyone had thoughts or ideas on how to respond to it. This person is a creative person. The question: "I understand that AI can help me do my job. However, I get immense job and self-satisfaction from the creative process and knowing that I am the one who created the content, design, whatever it might be. If I offload that to AI, where does the job satisfaction come in?" Thoughts?2.5KViews4likes13CommentsTech and AI for Nonprofits webinar

Hello everyone, I have signed up our non-profit organization for Microsoft Non-Profit and it was approved. In the approval-mail I was instructed to go to the "non-profit hub" to sign in and select the plans we would like to use. Unfortunately, when I try to log in at the non-profit hub, I am redirected to a blank page with just a loading circle spinning for all eternity (I've let it spin for 3 hours at one time). I've tried different browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) as well as different devices, the result remains the same. The username and password are correct - the former was additionally given in the approval-mail, the latter was checked several times. Is there another way to select the plans for our non-profit organization? Thanks in advance.553Views0likes10CommentsCopilot Products: Breakdown

Hello, I have a non-profit account with two users. One is the admin and the other one is a "normal" user. I have assigned the Microsoft 365 Business Premium to both and I have been able to download and install all the desktops apps. The problem is I can't use them. When I open the app it requires me to sign in and I don't know what to do. I am stuck.1.1KViews0likes9CommentsError while accessing Non-Profit Hub
Hello, I have a problem to access the Non-Profit Hub. The login is successful (via MS authenticator) but the redirect to the home page of Non-Profit Hub fails and I get an error that I am not allowed to go ahead at the moment. I opened two cases and both where closed because the responsible support team member told me that I hadn't been able to provide any documents to verify my identity and association with the Nonprofit organization. I don't understand why I has to provide that information because the login was successful and all my contact information where stored in the MS account of our organization. But for both cases (2404100040001826, 2404170040002248) we had provided infomation about my assocation (email sent to me by MS Non Profit, just before problem happens, to approve the sponsorship of our organization and a business letter of our organization to describe my assocation). Without this support I am not able to request the Office 365 licenses and the MS Azure feature we want to use. Any idea how to solve the deadlock?1KViews1like8CommentsThe very first organizational adoption of AI steps ... your experience!
I've been reflecting on what I'm hearing about nonprofit AI adoption from leaders in the early stages of the journey. That critical first step is to understand and listen to staff concerns about how AI might change their jobs and other real or perceived concerns. * Fear of job of obsoletism due to “offloading” tasks to the AI - that their job might go away or be revert from full-time to part-time contract work. * Discomfort over the rapid pace of change and perceived steep learning curve while being overwhelmed with current workloads. * Worry about the impersonal nature of AI, which might diminish human interaction and decision-making in professional settings. * Concerns about losing their sense of purpose and job satisfaction. Once people put their hands on the tech, they realize that some of these are a perception. I've also heard concerns at this stage - something along the lines of "It takes too much to experiment, I could just write the **bleep** email myself in less time." I think that is more about habit change and acquiring a new skill. What concerns are you hearing and how have you addressed them?1.5KViews3likes8Comments
