Copilot nonprofit pricing
Where can we find nonprofit licensing info for Copilot? My MSP says they haven’t seen any nonprofit discount for Copilot.

Stop Forcing Free Users to Pay Fix Microsoft Copilot’s Ridiculous Usage Limits
Dear Microsoft Copilot Team,
Let me be completely honest: the current free usage limits on Microsoft Copilot are extremely frustrating, and I believe Microsoft seriously needs to reconsider this policy.
I am not going to pay for an AI subscription simply because Microsoft has decided to make the free experience unnecessarily restrictive. I am not stupid, and I am certainly not going to spend my money on a service just because I am being pushed into doing so by artificial limitations.
I want to pay for a service because I genuinely value it, not because I am being forced into a corner. There is a huge difference between offering a premium experience and deliberately making the free experience frustrating enough that users feel they have no choice but to subscribe.
And let’s be realistic: Copilot is not the only AI assistant available. There are plenty of competing AI services offering useful free access, and many users may find their capabilities, features, or usage policies better suited to their needs. Why should users remain loyal to Copilot when they can simply switch to alternatives that provide a better overall experience?
The situation is even worse for students who depend on AI for studying, research, explanations, and solving complex problems. Not everyone can afford another monthly subscription, and not everyone should have to pay just to access a reasonable amount of AI assistance.
And seriously, why should anyone have to wait until 4 AM for their usage limit to reset😂?. Are we supposed to organize our lives around Copilot’s limits now? An AI assistant is supposed to make life easier, not dictate when we are allowed to use it.
Here is what Microsoft needs to understand:
- Free users are still users, and they deserve a genuinely useful product.
- Restricting access does not automatically make people want to pay; it can make them leave.
- Competitors exist, and users have absolutely no obligation to stay with Copilot.
- Students and people on limited budgets deserve access to useful AI tools without being constantly interrupted by restrictive quotas.
I strongly urge Microsoft to remove these restrictive free usage limits and allow users to use Copilot freely, without arbitrary interruptions or unreasonable waiting periods.
If Microsoft wants people to subscribe, it should offer premium features that are genuinely worth paying for, rather than making the basic experience frustrating and hoping users will eventually give in.
I refuse to pay for an AI service simply because I am being pressured into it. If other AI assistants can offer me a better experience for free, I have every reason to use them instead.
Microsoft should be earning users’ loyalty through quality, reliability, and a genuinely useful experience not pushing them away with restrictions.
Please listen to your free users before they decide that Copilot is no longer worth their time.
Remove the restrictive free limits. Give users a real choice. Stop treating free access like a problem that needs to be solved with a paid subscription.
Sincerely,
A Disappointed Copilot User - mibrady

Hey ericleroy,
Thanks for your question. I recommend posting your question in the Copilot for Microsoft 365 community as their product team would be able to answer your question regarding pricing and if there are any trials available.
Thanks,

mibrady I think there is still some confusion around CoPilot for O365 and CoPilot Studio.
Most folks on this thread (I believe) want to deploy chatbots with workflow to answer donor questions, better assist volunteers, etc. CoPilot for O365 does not do that. It does help with analyzing and reporting on data in your O365 Apps - but no joy for building chatbots.
CS at $200 p/m is well outside of the reach of many nonprofits - who ironically could benefit the most from AI assistants working 24/7 to provide support.
- MattBurrSteel ContributorJust wanted to add to this thread that Copilot Studio is available at US$50/month for nonprofits (75% discount). I'm not sure if this pricing is new, but I only just became aware of it.
- CI_TBachtaCopper ContributorOur MSP had to reach out to our MS licensing rep to get the sku’s we are getting it added on our EA
- Cheikh NiangCopper ContributorFor now there is only one pricing
- MichelyvrCopper ContributorI too am hoping they come up with non profit pricing. I recognize developing new technology is costly but to add copilot nearly doubles our office 366 cost and for many of us in the non profit it will be a big financial pill to swallow. If it was to be included in the non profit office 365 package it wouldn't actually cost Microsoft anything. It's really just an unwillingness to forego the revenue they would extract from the non profit sector.

Hi MJM_Elle
Unfortunately, Microsoft haven't released any nonprofit discounts for Copilot.

I was hoping something would be announced at the Summit. Fingers crossed they do make a discount available in the future, as many nonprofits would benefit from it.
Don't forget you can still make use of the free Copilot at https://copilot.microsoft.com/
- LaurieEganCopper ContributorWhat are the differences between the paid and free version?
- AristeuCopper ContributorFingers crossed!
- ClifGuyTin ContributorI'd implement Copilot today org-wide if it didn't increase my IT budget by 5% all by itself. It's a big challenge with IT costs increasing faster than inflation and becoming a bigger and bigger % of contribution income.
