Microsoft 365 Quarterly Uptime Number Sinks to New Low
According to Microsoft, the Microsoft 365 uptime performance for Q1 CY2026 was 99.526%. That’s the lowest uptime figure since we started to record data in 2013. The first thing that people might ask is whether this performance means that Microsoft has to pay out under the terms of its financially backed SLA. The answer is no. All explained in the article. https://office365itpros.com/2026/04/22/microsoft-365-uptime/25Views0likes0CommentsOneNote breaks if I move it onto an external display
Hi guys I use OneNote extensively for work as my virtual notepad. At most of my working locations, I use my laptop - Dell Latitude 7440 - connected to either a Dell Docking station + 2 monitors, or a pair of samsung monitors which have an inbuilt hub, connect via USB-C and are daisychained together. I've never had any issues with OneNote in the past, but recently have found that if I try and move my OneNote window onto either external monitor, it seems to break OneNote - the whole window becomes just the index list which is normally a column on the left (where it shows all your notebooks and pages) and it won't actually display any of the content from the notebooks/pages. If I try minimizing that column, it has a complete breakdown as if its unable to properly load the actual page content. The only way to fix this is to drag the window back to my laptop screen and then close it and reopen. Has anyone else experienced this? It's really frustrating and affecting my productivity as I often need it side-by-side with other screens.Alex_NTLApr 21, 2026Copper Contributor144Views0likes1CommentHow to purge OneDrive from the default user folders
Hi. I got this PC a while ago and OneDrive just kinda set itself up based on my Microsoft account. It was decently useful having access to my OneDrive files as a folder on my PC but I do NOT want it backing up my files automatically, partly because I want those to be offline and because I really don't need constant popups telling me I named my file wrong or that I ran out of space. So, I disabled synchronisation for those folders - I'm talking about the default documents, images, etc. folders. Yet there was then two seperate folders called Images (or whatever that folder is called in English Windows), one with the path C:\Users\cherr\Pictures, and one with the path C:\Users\cherr\OneDrive\Pictures. Explorer sees the top one as the default, and displays the shortcut to that in the bar on the left, while other programs such as my very old Canon document scanner's user interface sees it as the bottom one. I tried everything I could think of, including cutting the OneDrive folder and putting it in a different location in order to not lose any of the files), then renaming it. Yet somehow the scanner software and others, even if I manually select the correct folder, still default to the new path which is now C:\Users\cherr\piss off onedrive\anything but OneDrive\Pictures. I have had to turn off the OneDrive app altogether, which is problematic as I am also logged into a school account on that (which has caused zero problems) to which I need regular access for the files on it. Yet even this does not fix it. Please help me out with this, as I now have two seperate folders called "Pictures", which are defaulted to depending on which app I am using.janthemanwljApr 21, 2026Occasional Reader14Views0likes0CommentsFormer short-term employee added as Billing Admin
Hi everyone, I’m hoping to get some insight into how this could have occurred and what we should review to prevent it from happening again. We are a small organization, and we recently discovered that a former employee (who only worked with us for about two weeks) was listed as a Billing Administrator in our Microsoft 365 tenant. This person is no longer with the company. Their Microsoft account has already been deleted. We are a small team with very limited admin roles assigned. We do not recall intentionally granting them billing-level permissions. We are trying to understand: How could a short-term user have been assigned the Billing Administrator role? Could this have been done automatically through another role assignment (e.g., Global Admin inheritance)? Is it possible this occurred through a CSP/partner relationship? Are there logs we should specifically review beyond standard audit logs? What are best practices to prevent this from happening again in a small tenant? We are currently reviewing: Admin role assignments Audit logs Partner relationships MFA enforcement for all admins If anyone has seen something similar or can suggest specific logs, settings, or controls we should review, I would really appreciate the guidance. Thanks in advance for your help.ty_zarApr 21, 2026Copper Contributor22Views0likes1CommentThe Microsoft Graph PowerShell SDK and the additionalProperties Property
The additionalProperties property is available for many Microsoft Graph PowerShell SDK cmdlets. In this article, we explain the function of the additionalProperties property and how it functions in holding output for Microsoft Graph PowerShell SDK cmdlets. It’s all because of the lack of strongly-typed properties, or so the AutoRest process would have us believe. https://office365itpros.com/2026/04/21/additionalproperties-property/20Views0likes0CommentsMicrosoft 365 Security Best Practices for Enterprises
In today’s digital-first workplace, Microsoft 365 has become the backbone of enterprise productivity. From email and file storage to collaboration tools like Teams and SharePoint, it centralizes critical business operations. But with this convenience comes a growing attack surface. Cyber threats are evolving rapidly, and enterprises can no longer rely on default security settings alone. A proactive, layered approach to Microsoft 365 security is essential. https://dellenny.com/microsoft-365-security-best-practices-for-enterprises/33Views1like0CommentsBad registrar on 365 side
Hello, We created a Microsoft 365 tenant several years ago but never used the online email services. We added and verifed our domain, which was registered with Orange at the time, and then created some users manually to use PowerBI. Today, we begin to migrate to Exchange Online. We have installed AD Connect and synchronized some users. Since creating the tenant, we have changed registrars (to Gandi), but I've noticed that the registrar hasn't been updated in the tenant 365. An `nslookup` correctly identifies Gandi as our current registrar. Microsoft has remained with Orange... and this is causing errors in the hybrid Exchange configuration assistant due to bad autodiscover. How can we "refresh" the registrar on the Microsoft 365 side ? I tried to start-up my laptop yesterday and I got a blue "Bitlocker" screen come up and it is asking for a recovery key. It notes the reason "..because Secure Boot policy has changed." I never installed Bitlocker, or set-up. Frankly, I never heard of it. I checked my microsoft log in and there was no bitlocker recovery key in there either. I haven't made any changes to the computer recently. Computer is an HP Envy with solid state drive I believe I am at a loss as to how to deal with this without loosing my data. I spoke to three computer guys and they were not familiar with the Bitlocker. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.CarlG2022Apr 20, 2026Copper Contributor1.2KViews0likes2CommentsAutomating Microsoft 365 with PowerShell Second Edition
