Re: How to organise Posts within channels
CParker1986 - I understand your issue. A couple of suggestions I offer my users... 1. Utilise the [Announcement] feature for a Channel Post, and utilise a common set of image banners to upload. This provides a consistent VISUAL cue to the scrollers within a channel. 2. Come to an agreement on a consistent prefix for every Channel Post's Subject Line. This allows you to expand out the Channel Panel (top right corner) and Search the channel for that prefixed word. [CTRL][F] works to, but the expanded Channel Panel is gold. Oh how we'd love Viva Engage's Topics or Hashtags in Posts? BUT - I suppose that is what stands the two communication Loops apart. Adding a Viva Engage Topic as a Channel TAB could be an innovative solution?15Views1like0CommentsRFI: Recurring Teams Meetings and Subsequent Attendee Access to Chat, Transcript and Recording
I'm hoping others may be able to provide some insight. I have a feeling Teams Meetings functionality may have changed since I was last asked this question. From memory only participants from the organisation who were included in the required and optional recipients list had access. I have been asked by a Meeting Organizer how they can restrict access to the meeting chat, transcript and recording following a meeting. There are situations in which guests who are 'dialled-in' during the meeting, or receive forwarded invitations (ie not a recipient) should not be able to see the chat, transcript and recording. We undertook an extensive meeting test exploring all attendee options, meeting options etc... EVERYONE appeared to have access to the chat, transcript and recording. Any clues on how to restrict access without the user having to manage permissions?56Views0likes0CommentsReduced Distribution of Viva Engage Weekly "Discovery" Digest Email
I'm interested in knowing if others have seen changes in the distribution of the Viva Engage Weekly "Discovery" Digest Email. We are on the standard M365 A5 for Faculty plan, and always experienced a high level of user engagement following the email digest going out. This had reduced significantly over the last 8 weeks. This week only ~1500 digest emails with the subject line "Discover what’s happening across your organization" were sent. We used to see ~6500! I suspect a change in the Algorithm. This Blog post describes the fundamentals: Viva Engage Explained: Email Digests - Microsoft Community Hub Do we expect everyone to receive a Discovery Digest (if they have it selected in their Notifications)'Broken' Forms Icon on MS Edge [+New Tab] App Launcher
Hi, I'm in an education tenant; using MS Edge in Office 365 Mode. When launching a New Tab and selecting the [App Launcher] in the top left, of the 12 default O365 Apps displayed, the Forms Icon is broken. I am hoping others can check their tenant to see how widespread this issue is, I have checked and identified a second tenant in AU. Screenshot attached. (Updated - new Screenshot attached - the .png wasn't displaying ;-( )483Views1like0CommentsTeams Search > Messages > [Go to message] not working
I'm hoping others can verify whether this is happening within their tenants. Within our education tenant, when in a Team, using the Teams Search bar returns the required returns, including messages from Channel conversations. The full message can be displayed; however, when selecting [Go to message] the window that would normally display the conversation thread doesn't appear - it is simply an empty screen? Anyone else seeing this?3.4KViews0likes1CommentRe: 'We're having trouble updating your team. Please try again later.' when trying to update team avatar
It's failing for us again too. It works 2 days out of 7? The mobile App is still a solution if setting the Team icon is an urgent one. There doesn't seem to be an 'Action' within the Teams connector in Power Automate to update the Teams Icon, not sure if anyone else has any hints? There is a Powershell command: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powershell/module/teams/set-teampicture?view=teams-ps Can anybody experiencing the issue see if the powershell script works?4.8KViews0likes0CommentsRe: 'We're having trouble updating your team. zeezee003 - thanks for your response. I am the owner of the Team, have also checked with our tenant global admin, same error for them 'We're having trouble updating your team. Please try again later.' As a workaround I was able to use the mobile (Android) Teams App to edit the Team and upload a new Teams avatar from there. It is then reflected in both the Teams desktop App and Browser5.5KViews1like1CommentRe: 'We're having trouble updating your team. Please try again later.' when trying to update team avatar
Jump forward to August 2022. We are experiencing this issue on our Education Tenant. Are others seeing the same? Can you update a Team's Icon? Is it just us or a wider issue?5.5KViews1like7CommentsMissing [Conversation] Button in Word Documents when opened in Teams
For those of us who use it, the [Conversation] button available from the top right of the Word Viewer in MS Teams is a fantastic way of contributing to the posted conversations associated with that document. (Please note, this is not document comments) It has disappeared from our Tenant; however, only for those users who have installed the newish Word(Beta) Teams App. I'm interested to know if others have lost this functionality, whether it is a deprecated feature or an issue with the new Word App in Teams. (For those who have not seen the new Word App, it sits on the left hand Teams Nav Rail and provides quick access to the refreshed Word Portal from the office.com portal.2.3KViews2likes3CommentsSite Contents > New > App = New SharePoint Experience
I'm assuming others are seeing this new "My Apps" page within SharePoint Online (screenshot attached) I'm not sure if I missed a Message Centre update; however the new experience makes it very difficult for users to locate what are now categorised as "Classic Experience". A good Example is the "Calendar" App that we have used - forever - to create an Event List, Sync it to Outlook etc etc. Does anyone have any info on where the roadmap is taking us with respect to Site Contents > New > App. Is the end game to create "Event Lists" through MS Lists?743Views0likes2CommentsRe: MS Lists + October 2nd 2021 = "An extra day in the Year"
Yes, I have experimented with the TimeZone and the Locale for the Teams/SharePoint Site that the List belongs to: If TimeZone = pacific (-7:00) and Locale = English (United States) = calendar Display is CORRECT if TimeZone = Hobart (+10:00) and Locale = English (United States) =calendar Display is BROKEN if TimeZone = Hobart (+10:00) and Locale = English (Australia) =calendar Display is BROKEN2.8KViews0likes3CommentsRe: MS Lists + October 2nd 2021 = "An extra day in the Year"
Oztourist - I can confirm September breaks as per your screen shot; however, only after visiting October !!!! 1. Open List - it opens in April... 2. Advance to September - Dates are all OK 3. Open October - Dates are incorrect - there are 2 Oct 2nds. 4. Return to September - Dates are now incorrect - 1,2,3,2,52.9KViews0likes0CommentsMS Lists + October 2nd 2021 = "An extra day in the Year"
I'd be very interested in knowing if others are seeing this effect in Calendar Views associated with MS Lists created from a [New List] and Creating a New View > Calendar View. Everything looks great until you scroll through to October 2nd, 2021 - and the date is repeated - throwing the rest of calendar eternity out by one day! Screen shot attached - notice the anomaly.
