Re: Creating channel meetings triggers emails to all Teams members
Hi VasilMichev and thanks for your response. The odd thing is that "the abovementioned setting" has been toggled off all the time. It was off when the team was created and thus before any Members of the team were added. Thus it should work as intended but it does not.190Views0likes2CommentsCreating channel meetings triggers emails to all Teams members
I'm struggling with a delicate and strange problem. We mainly use Channel Meetings in Microsoft Teams. The problem is that absolutely all team members receive an email about the meeting, regardless of whether they are invited to the meeting or not. As I understand it, only those who are invited to the Channel Meeting should receive an invitation. However, I should be able to choose to notify all Team members if I wish, but that is not the case. When I check the M365 groups, the setting "Send copies of team emails and events to team members inboxes" is disabled and I think this should be enough, but it clearly is not. Does anyone here have a solution to this?291Views0likes4CommentsRe: Posts in multiple languages
As far as I know, it's not possible, but I think the translation function works very well. If you haven't already turned it on, I think you should ask an Administrator to do so. In addition, each individual user can specify their preferred language so that when you click on the translation link on a post, you get a translation into your language. Background I work with a company that is using Viva Engage. In some of their Communities, they have set restrictions so that only those who are Community Admins are allowed to post posts. When a Community Admin create a post and attaches an Excel file to the post, the Excel file is editable by all members of the Community. (Actually, it would have been optimal if the setting that limits who can post posts had also limited the ability to edit attached files, but that is not the case.) The setting i have tested Therefore, i tested "Manage user privileges with view-only mode in Viva Engage". As a Viva Engage administrator, I opened the Viva Admin Center and opened the "Governance and Compliance" tab. Under this tab there is an option called "User Management" where you can "adjust user settings surrounding the creation and visibility of contents". This sounded good, so I added the users that I wanted to limit these possibilities for so that they would basically only have read-only access to the community. The problem that arises This is where the strange problem arises. When these users, who I added under "User Management" now enter a community, the window with "Acceptable Use Policy" appears and it is completely OK but after that there is no possibility to accept, close or exit this window. Is this a bug or is there any additional setting that I have to turn on for this to work as intended?101Views0likes0CommentsRe: Send files between two tenant
If the other organization is an organization you ”trust” and collaborate a lot with, Multitenant Organization gives you a better experience when it comes to ”Private chat”, BUT it requires good planning and you need to ensure that both tenants are configured/secured as they ought to be. You can read more about that here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/enterprise/plan-multi-tenant-org-overview?view=o365-worldwide&WT.mc_id=email&sharingId=M365-MVP-5005370 However, the easiest way to solve your need is to use a team and channel posts/files with people from the other organization as guests.307Views1like0CommentsRe: How to make Desktop-App as Default for Opening Office-Files in Teams/SharePoint Online?
Hi HP_at_VOWA . Have you verified the following? (Source: Article "Edit a file in Microsoft Teams", Scroll down to the heading "Edit an Office file in its desktop or web app") Before attempting to edit an Office file in its desktop app, make sure: you're using the Teams desktop app for Windows or MacOS. you have an Office 365 E3 or E5 license. to download the desktop apps for PowerPoint, Word, and Excel (Office version 16 or newer).176Views1like1CommentCan no longer use Drag and Drop
I can no longer use Drag and Drop of files between two SharePoint document libraries. I also cannot use Drag and drop of files from a SharePoint document library to "Files" in a channel in Microsoft Teams (or vice versa). However, I can use Drag and Drop from File Explorer to Teams or to SharePoint. What's going on, am I missing something? Did I dream that this worked before or has something changed recently?280Views1like1CommentRe: Custom Office Templates in TEAMS - SharePoint Sites
sandeeppothedar Unfortunately this functionality is still not available and there are many organizations asking for it (both in Microsoft Teams and SharePoint). I have registered a suggestion in Feedback Portal. Everyone who want this functionality to be developed/made available please give it a vote here: Centrally managed Office templates (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) available in/from Microsoft Teams Channels (Files tab-New)484Views3likes0CommentsTrouble joining an external Viva Engage network
I have a user who is having trouble joining an external Viva Engage network. I have not blocked external networks, but I have activated the function which means that one of our administrators must first approve a request from the user to join. The problem A User wants to join an External Network (in this case www.yammer.com/dynamicsnavdev). He goes to the url www.yammer.com/dynamicsnavdev (He has tried different browsers and also InPrivate mode) 3. Here he enter his work email and press "Sign up". 4. He gets an error message that the email is not valid. My theory I assume that the user (in my organization) must first request and receive an invitation to the external network from the owner/administrator of the external network and that this invitation must be sent to this user's work email address. After the user in my organization receives the invitation from the owner of the external Engage-network, I assume that this invitation is shown to the user in Viva Engage and that the user from there must send a request to me (as an administrator) and that I will then see this request in Engage Admin Center and be able to approve/decline the request from there? Any ideas of what can be wrong/missing?1.5KViews0likes3CommentsUnable to join some Communities and unable to add members to some Communities
A company I work with has the following problem. Their users are unable to join some Viva Engage Communities and they cannot add new members to these Communities. What is common for all these Communities is that they are not connected to a Microsoft 365 Group. All other Communities (that are connected to M 365 Groups) works fine. The problem started for about a month ago. Anyone here that have an answer to this problem? Regards, MagnusSolvedIssues for guests when trying to reply to channel posts
We have two different Teams. In these we have: 2 people from a company who are guests in one team. 2 people from another company who are guests of the other team. They have all been guests for just over half a year and during that time everything has worked as it should. For approx. a week ago they suddenly had problems responding to channel posts. They can access the teams they are guests in but when they try to reply to a post it stops and it just starts hanging. The same problem occurs in both Team's desktop version and web client. What they all have in common is that they use Mac + Safari/Chrome Anyone experienced the same thing and know what this is due to?Solved693Views0likes1CommentDeactivate "Everyone Except External Users" on the SharePoint sites belonging to Public Teams
If, through the use of PowerShell, you deactivate the possibility to use the "Everyone Except External Users" group in the organization, does this mean that this group is also removed from the SharePoint sites that are connected to public Microsoft Teams? What I wish to achieve is that even if a Microsoft Team is set to Public, I do not want everyone in the organization (Everyone except external users) to have Editor rights to the Team's files.590Views0likes0Comments"Hub Visitors" added to associated sites even though "Sync Hub Permissions" is not enabled
I have created a SharePoint Hub site. I have connected 30 sites to it. When I did this, a group named "Hub Visitors" was added to each of these connected sites. Since some of the sites contain sensitive information and I don't want to risk someone accidentally gaining access to one of these sites, I manually deleted this group from all sites. Now, a day later, when I go to the sites and look, the group has been added to them again. On the Hub site, "Sync hub permissions to associated sites" is turned off (and it has never been turned on). Therefore, I think that no group should be added to the associated sites until possibly turning on "Sync hub permissions to associated sites". I have already read the article "Associate a SharePoint site with a hub site" so I understand that a site owner can choose for himself if he/she wants to synchronize site permissions with hub permissions. What worries me is that the "Hub Visitors" group is added to the sites without any of this being enabled. Here is a similar question "One of our sites got a Group named "Hub Visitors" what is this SharePoint group" but it does not answer what I am wondering about. So, the question I want an answer to is: Is there anyone who can explain why this happens, how it works - or should work?Solved4.4KViews0likes1Comment
