"New" to Viva Engage, with over 100 existing M365 Groups (private) - how to approach communities?
Hi, I have used Yammer in the past (pre 2016) and have refrained and not encouraged usage in our organization due to the very disconnected user experience and also not having the ressources to manage yet another channel of communications. I want revisit the current Viva Engage situation. I've let the Yammer Support reprovision our network for EU data residency, so it's completely empty. By reading the documentation I would assume we're about as aligend to M365 as is possible. It seems like I can create Communities that are connected to M365 Groups by-default, but I haven't found the other way around. What am I todo with our existing 100 private M365 Groups that mostly represent organizational departments, project teams, larger organizational topics/interests? Are we expected to re-create all these groups? Are there any useful "migration" paths/ideas for this scenario? I'm really not a fan of M365 Groups clutter and also do not allow the creation of groups outside of administrator for this very reason. any help or further links to other resources are high appreciated.Re: Any way to create an Office 365 Group with Communication Site Template?
Hi, to clarify. I want a group, and the sharepoint site should "look" (as in top navigation) like a communication site. So both solutions are valid in my opinion, though yours might be in an "unsupported" scenario.14KViews0likes0CommentsDifferent (File) Search Experiences across the O365 Suite - where is it going?
Hi, I've picked up this topic, because the new SharePoint Team Sites UI finally got its own little search box in the top left corner. And again the UX and UI is a little different than across the rest of the O365 Suite. Here are all the different UI/UXs I've come across (pretty sure there are more): http://www.office.com (or portal.office.com) - new landing page with the Hello/Good Morning Firstname seems to look for Name (filename) sometimes finds files in private groups, sometimes it doesn't (have no idea why) Office 365 Groups Files UI seems to look for both, filename and title works for search as you type doesn't work as soon as you hit enter tenantname.sharepoint.com looks very similiar to the new sharepoint team site search ui search as you type works as long a you search for the title pressing enter (while search as you type shows no result) seems to include filenames as well SharePoint TeamSite Home (new search box top left) search as you type not working pressing enter searches for both title and filename SharePoint Classic Enterprise Search classic pressing enter search not able to find anything from my private groups Delve (web) search as you type experience only Delve (Win10 Store App) supports search as you and and pressing enter seems to find less than the web, probably because is has trouble with filenames that include "-" still, after months!, not able to search for files in private groups (after so much time - I really don't understand what the delay is here) Is there anyone from the O365/SharePoint Team that could comment on where all this is going, why search experiences is not returning the same files/documents even though a normal user would expect them to?1.3KViews3likes2CommentsWishlist - Office 365 Photo Portal
Hi, So I have the vague idea of creating some kind of image/photo portal within our company and I kind of wish Microsoft would develop an Office 365 Video/Stream counterpart that is focused on images and photos. We have probably thousands of photos created over the last couple of years. Most of them are lost within tens of subfolders, some on shared locations, some on personal storage location. A simple photo portal that would allow user uploads, private and public galleries/collections would be an awesome addition to the already great Office 365 platform. Think Instagram/Flickr for Business. What are your thoughts? PS: Microsoft, I know you must have already thought about it 😉5.4KViews2likes6CommentsTile Placement on Admin Portal is a mess
So, here's a screenshot of my admin portal: I don't know by which logic the tile placement is happening, but it's a mess. Back in beta, we had the option to modify and reposition the tiles (though the state never properly saved for me). Am I the only one with the problem? PS: thats on a 27" screen (2560x1440px), it looks a little less worse on 1920x1080px.3.5KViews1like13CommentsModern Managed Columns and Content Types is broken or unfinished at best
Hi everyone, it's been while for me around here, but I could really use some help here. While I appreciate every UI change to "modern" in general, the switch to modern content type and column management feels very incomplete and I'm stopped from doing my work because of this. Previously everything was managable in in the Content Type Hub, columns and content types. After publishing everything and waiting half a day, those columns and content types were available on all other sites. After the switch to modern I'm unable to add any published column to any library or list from the existing (published) site columns. I'm pretty sure I don't want to re-created the same column for every library on multiple sites The only workaround I found was to add any content type to the library/list that contains the required column, then delete the content type again -> the columns remain in the library/list and then edit the existing content type to add the required column. Either I've been using content types and columns wrong all these years, or I'm missing something that the designers of the modern content type management have created. Any ideas here?1.1KViews0likes1CommentUnterstanding O365 ProPlus C2R Features Releases and Buildnumbers
So, I'm having troubles finding features that should already be release according to build numbers listed here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/office/mt465751 Latest example (many previously): I have the latest CC build installed from November 10, 2016 Version 1610 (Build 7466.2038). Yet I don't see the Shared with Me feature (https://support.office.com/en-us/article/See-files-others-have-shared-with-you-e0476dc7-bf2f-4203-b9ad-c809578b03e7?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US). I definitely have files in the "Shared with Me" view in OneDrive for Business. Other features I'm missing (even from older builds): Ink Replay (https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Replay-your-ink-strokes-in-Office-fa4f044f-810b-43fe-b774-da04a0b37496?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US) Skype Visual Updates (https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/nexthop/2016/10/27/new-skype-for-business-2016-look-and-feel-coming-your-way/) PowerPoint Designer (might be because we have the Office Web templates disabled) PowerPoint Zoom Excel Publish to PowerBI Word Researcher Any ideas whats going on exactly and why some features are not showing up for us? Are features somehow language restricted possibly? We're running german C2R installations.AAD PowerShell Commands not working (get-msol ...)

Sometime last year I achieved seamless SSO in our corporate environment with the following tools: Windows 10 Clients IE11 (by adding some URLs to the intranet/trusted zones) Chrome (with some trickery on ADFS to get this working) and generally adding the whr parameter to bookmarks deployed via GPO Azure AD Connect ADFS onPrem with 2012 R2 (domain is generally on 2012 R2 level) but with the latest changes over last couple of months, this setup stopped working. I need some guidance as I no longer know what the absolute best way to deploy seamless SSO is. These are the tools at my disposal: Windows 10 v1709 onPrem domain joined/AAD hybrid joined devices (I'd like it work with all 3 browsers preferably) Chrome Edge IE11 Proper setup UPN for all users MFA active on all users except for onPrem IP-Range Windows Server 2012 R2 onPrem if 2016 is a requirement for this, I'll happily upgrade somehow Azure AD Connect SCCM (latest), incl. Hybrid AAD Joined Devices - but Windows 10 is mostly managed by SCCM and not Intune. I have no requirement for authentication to happen onPrem, I just did it because it allowed for true SSO back then. I basically NEVER want an authentication prompt, neither username or password, within my corporate environment. As in, a freshly deployed machine with a brand new user account automatically signs into http://www.office.com on the very first try, no fuss 😉 Please tell me this is still somehow possibly.2.3KViews0likes1CommentIncidents/Actions need an UI overhaul
Lately, we've been receiving a few policy alerts, specifically "Malware campaign detected after delivery", which means that I, as an admin, probably should step in and take some action. This is the first time I had to analyze this kind of information in the "Security & Compliance Center". Overall I think the UI for this kind of analysis is not very intuitive. Here are the rough steps that I took and where I think the problems are: Firstly I received the policy email alert about "Malware campaign detected after delivery". This mail includes a link to "view alert details" which leads me to "Alerts > View Alerts". There you can see the messages, and only if you look VERY CLOSELY do you notice a small text link at the bottom "View Messages in Explorer". I've only found that link now that I'm writing this "review" Unfortunately this link only leads to the Explorer itself, and not a filterted list of the flagged messages, even though the text link would suggest so after you manually search for the messages from your alert, you get a "narrow" list view on the bottom third of your display. My display is 27" (QHD) and I can only see 4 full message rows. That is a horrible way to select a lot of messages, especially since SHIFT-CLICK does not work After you select the wanted messages you can create actions, which in turn create an incident. I love that you as an admin can remove messages after the fact, but ... last week I created an incident where I selected multiple message to be hard deleted. The incident status remains open. I assume I have to close it manually, in addition to manually resolving the triggered alert from above? Also the action log of that incident states that only 1 out of many selected messages is queued. What about the rest and why is only 1 action queued for over a week with no result? today I created another incident with 73 affected messages. This time the action log is more forthcoming, with a total of 73 items, removing 22 was a success and 0 had a failure. Those numbers again don't add up, what about the rest? No information what so every.594Views0likes0CommentsAlert: Outbound message contains malware triggers for incoming external mails

Hi, I've just noticed that the Office 365 ATP Safe Links is causing a minor issue for our ITSM application by going through every link in a ticket completion notification it automatically triggers a "I'm satisified" response. Maybe I'm missing but I haven't found a way to disable the scanning of specific domains/URLs, only for specific recipients in general.Solved26KViews0likes1CommentCross Post: EMEA Geo Location of SharePoint and OneDrive Data
If I may cross post this here, as haven't received a response yet in the SharePoint Community: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/SharePoint/Help-with-SP-and-ODfB-Geo-Locations-and-tracert-explanation/m-p/102043/highlight/false#M94301.1KViews0likes0CommentsThreat Explorer: ATT0000x.htm Attachments / VBS/Jenxcus!lnk Malware / what is happening here?
So I'm taking a closer look at the new security center and noticed the following issue repeating. User receives email with attachments (in this case 2 PDFs) - all is good - the attachments are clean User then forward the message from his/her Smartphone with iOS Apple Mail to other internal recipients. we all know that Exchange sometimes creates those additional pesky ATT000X.htm attachments (for whatever reason) when not using Outlook. It's those .htm attachments that the Office 365 Threat Explorer marks as Malware So, what I'm to do with this information? I'm pretty (or hope?) sure that Exchange does not create attachments and fills them with malware just to scan them again with ATP and remove them.Solved9.5KViews0likes5CommentsATP - Safe Attachment Modes fully explained
Hi, could somepone point to a full documentation about the different safe attachments policy modes (monitor, block, replace, dynamic delivery)? Unfortunately the text links (learn more ...) in the configure policy windows do not work. Monitor - Continue delivering the message after malware is detected; track scan results. Block - Block the current and future emails and attachments with detected malware. Replace - Block the attachments with detected malware, continue to deliver the message. Dynamic Delivery - Deliver the message without attachments immediately and reattach once scan is complete. I've tried out dynamic delivery, but my users are unappreciative of the fact that the message gets delivered first, before the attachment is fully scanned. So I've just switched to "replace" for now and keep the in the dark about new emails, until is fully scanned. What does block mean technically? What is considered as future emails?Solved12KViews1like3Comments
