Problems with missing files overnight in teams
We've lost access to all our files stored in Teams having logged in this morning. We can't access the SharePoint back end, and we assume it is related to the issues MS has around ADD last night. All the teams file have gone. Does the community have the same issue, or who at MS can help investigate this issue affecting the free version of Teams. We are a charity and hence where using this free version to continue working. Please Please help.
Hi everyone - I've confirmed that our initial mitigation has been completed after checking a specific error that many of the tenants were impacted by are now resolved. If you're continuing to run into this issue, please sign-out/sign-into the client and validate if you're still seeing it. If you are, please ping me your tenant ID, which steps to this can be found here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/fundamentals/active-directory-how-to-find-tenant#find-tenant-id-through-the-azure-portal
Thanks again for working with us, we apologize for this issue and are ensuring to learn from our mistakes that were made that caused this unfortunate incident to occur. Have a great and safe weekend everyone.
Best,
Sam Cosby, Teams Engineering PM.

Hi everyone - I confirmed that all tenants should now be resolved from this issue as there were a few lingering tenants that may have still had this issue throughout the week. If you're still seeing issues, please sign-out/sign-in and validate if there's anything wrong and if so, please DM me. - Sam Cosby

Hi everyone - just wanted to do a quick temperature check.. We believe we've mitigated the issue for all but want to be sure that there isn't anyone else out there still running into this issue. If you are, please DM me.- ChristianBergstromSilver ContributorAmazing, solving these issues for the Teams free users is a very nice gesture of you (and the Teams team). Well done! ⭐
- ajokaCopper ContributorYou solved my problem, me and my team can access files again! Many thanks!

Sam Cosby, Teams Engineering PM.- zarbi75Copper ContributorHi Sam, We have all the time problems accessing files in MS Teams (no SharePoint).
My Azure ID is: f972c226-d5c0-4400-b347-3e1a54f1ab83.
Please, help us. Kris - MrsdmcCopper ContributorHi Sam, sadly this hasn't worked for me either, I'll DM you.
- VDREWBrass ContributorA big thank you from me Sam for your help and support on this. While i understand this free version doesn't quality for direct chat or phone support it would be good to have somewhere to report issues like this, while this tech community is good any problems get hidden in that other chat. Thanks again

I completely understand. My goal is to ensure that all scenarios for Freemium tenants are understood before they create large impact so I'll take notice of how we missed this and ensure this doesn't happen again. I'm glad to know that your Teams Free files are back up and running!

Hi everyone - thank you for sending me or trying to send me logs. It appears many of you hit an issue within TechCommunity where the logs couldn't be sent as expected. I'll throw a OneDrive link to each of you who've already DM'd me so we can get that looked into.
- MrsdmcCopper ContributorHi Sam, I DM'd you but haven't had a response from you with a link? I clicked on the Files tab but there isn't an option to open in sharepoint?

Sorry folks - I'm running into a chat-wall issue with the number of private messages I can send out through this app. Working through this at the moment and will get back as soon as I can with more links.

Hi everyone - if you could please send me your logs (through DM) that would be great. Please do the following:
1. Sign out of the client.
2. Sign into the client.
3. Reproduce the issue.
4. Obtain logs immediately after you reproduce the issue (control + alt + shift + 1)
5. DM me the logs (I'll shoot you a OneDrive link to those who've sent me logs). If anyone is familiar with Fiddler/Har as well, that would be great to get a trace to understand the root of the problem deeper as well.
Thank you! - Sam Cosby

Hi everyone - I just wanted to let you know that I've deemed this issue a livesite and have our on-call-engineers looking into this to understand the root of the problem further to hopefully find the cause and resolve as soon as possible. Once I hear back, I'll let you all know.
Thx,
Sam Cosby, Teams Engineering PM- MrsdmcCopper ContributorHi Sam, apologies I'm a none teccy. I've done what you asked and several files have downloaded, is there an easy way to send them to you or is it a copy and paste job?
- VDREWBrass Contributor
Same question - i won't let me copy and paste as the first file is 50K lines long. Might be worth dropping Sam a DM asking, I've already done this but more the better i think.

Hello everyone,
We apologize for this issue you're running into. The Team is looking into this to understand the cause of this and to ensure that this issue gets resolved for you. Can folks confirm if they see this same issue from both the desktop & web client? Is this only affecting your Teams Free accounts and tenants?
Thanks,
Sam Cosby, Teams Engineering PM- VDREWBrass ContributorYes, across the app and browser for all my staff we have tried different machines, in private browsing on phone app, accessing sharepoint files nothing works.. I appreciate we are using the free version although paying for other microsoft tools, but an outlook is needed on a fix are we talking hours/days /weeks or never? It's been frustrating that no one on the chat or phone has showed any interest in this for 2 days. I appreciate your support going forward.

hi Everyone. Are there any news?
I can confirm the problem. Using Teams free. No access to any files on teams now since 3 days. Same problem on web, desktop or mobile....
- VDREWBrass ContributorNo I have no update and still don't have access to my files.
- ChristianBergstromSilver Contributor
ThereseSolimeno Anne Michels Hello! Anything you possibly could look into and give an update here? Issue: People using Teams free still hasn't access to their files since the multiple M365 services outage and are not eligible for the official support. Thank you.

My team has the same problem. All the files disappeared overnight and the files menu is not accessible. I spent the day yesterday obsessing over finding a fix, but no go. Can't Microsoft even report a problem and let users know the status? Or let us know what the error messages mean?
