Excel Autosave is Broken

I used to be able to open an excel document and autosave to the cloud was always on. Now, whenever I open the file, the autosave is turned off. When I go to turn it back on, it saves the file with a number after the name every time instead of overriding the file. What is going on?

Check the Info tab to ensure that you’re signed into the same storage account as the User account. You may also try “Save a Copy” to the original location.
