Re: Microsoft DMARC aggregate report SMTP issues
I was thinking there was a way at EHLO for the client to offer extensions, but that seems not to be the case. You’re not sending anything extension side in your response to the EHLO (XATTRDIRECT, etc)? If your server replies with that error, “501 5.5.4 Unrecognized parameter…”, does their client resend the MAIL FROM without the parameters? Anyway I’d just have your server ignore parameters after the address in MAIL FROM. Might be worth asking here to get info from the real experts https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/ietf-smtp1.7KViews0likes1CommentRe: Microsoft DMARC aggregate report SMTP issues
freddieleeman Don’t know whether you’ve solved this already, and I’m not an SMTP guru. But that looks a valid use of a SMTP Service Extension as defined in https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc5321#section-2.2. And in particular in section https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc5321#section-4.1.1.2with clause: mail = "MAIL FROM:" Reverse-path [SP Mail-parameters] CRLF But, the use of Service Extensions are negotiated in the EHLO command /response. Are they offering, and your server doesn’t disagree to the extensions? At worst might be best to follow Jon Postel’s dictum and just accept (and ignore) that extra text.1.8KViews0likes3CommentsRe: EM+S E3 50 Seat Legacy donation - some customers being charged - why?
I’ve had three customers affected. At the latter two support cases they would not commit to a full refund. They’ve clearly have been given a script to say “Your were told about change to this license type. Part month refund will be given. No full refund is available.” I pushed back strongly, quoting the two statements in their (single) announcement I highlighted above. Let’s see!5.6KViews0likes1CommentDomain purpose returns
I asked about setting DNS purpose previous after it disappeared in the transition from old to new admin centre. It seems it's back. Or has it been there a while? The Domain Management button takes one to the screen below to allow to choose yes/no for each of: Exchange, Skype for Business, and Mobile Device Management. Unfortunately there seems to be a bug. The windows automatically closes after a few seconds with no click/etc on my part and goes to the next dialog.1.5KViews0likes3CommentsRe: Remove TLS 1.0/1.1 and 3DES Dependencies
Looking on Sunday night at the reports of my ~20 client tenants, there seems to have been a change. None of them now contain any Win10 (Office16/15) entries. So I’m wondering if there was a bug in the reports and it’s been fixed! Anyone see the same? The reports look a bit sparse also however. MNy have no rows. Perhaps the school holidays last week meant less folk were connecting? The reports clearly aren’t cumulative over all time, as entries from an older report don’t always appear in a later one. I wonder what needs to happen to make a device appear, is it just to connect to read mail etc, or it that it needs to re-authenticate e.g. after 14 days etc?14KViews1like2CommentsRe: Remove TLS 1.0/1.1 and 3DES Dependencies
Good question! I don’t understand why Windows+NT+10.0 myself. So looking for an answer too. In fact I asked such a question here before. I had learned that BITS is used to download the address book (OAB). So those lines should…mean Windows 7, but given we saw win10 above…15KViews0likes1Comment3des / TLS Deprecation recommendations table
Hi all I'm looking across all my customers' tenant at the deprecation report and seeing various values in the "Agent" column, including some ones that surprise me. Does anyone know if Microsoft, or a third-party, has provided a table of what actions are needed for the the various 'Agents'. e.g. I see: secretary@example.com TLS1.0/1.1 Microsoft+Office/16.0+(Windows+NT+6.3;+Microsoft+Outlook+16.0.11029;+Pro) 2 scott@example.com TLS1.0/1.1 Microsoft+BITS/7.5 13 So I had the latter https://twitter.com/dmstork/status/1082652412786208773to me. BITS it used by Outlook for OAB download, so that's likely Windows 7. So need to do the kb3140245 actions I guess. The former is more confusing to me. That's Windows 8.1 with Office C2R. That platform should be all compliant, no? AlanSolved2.1KViews0likes2CommentsRe: Save As / Export Email (msg file) in OWA
I guess an .eml file (i.e. the raw email) is no good… In OWA, one can create a new email, drag an existing email onto it and it gets added as an attachment, then one can click the down-arrow on the attachment to Download, which creates a file called “eml”. A .msg file is much more than an .eml though, right?247KViews10likes2CommentsRe: DMARC reporting
Ahh… “Office 365 doesn't send out DMARC reports, nor is it on our public roadmap. However, there's a hacky way you can kind of approximate aggregate reports.” https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/tzink/2018/05/21/a-way-to-sort-of-approximate-dmarc-aggregate-reports-in-office-365/6KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Stuck on "Signing in"
We've removed all use of the old sync client (groove). ((We've changed the setting in SharePoint so it only starts the new sync client. We've visited each person that used the old client and upgraded them. I periodically run an audit log trace to find any use of the old sync client.)) So all new client. :-(28KViews0likes0CommentsRe: Stuck on "Signing in"
OK it's still stuffed. Have ran SARA a few times to no avail. I'm really disappointed in OneDrive SharePoint sync still. We have many clients on Google Drive and some on DropBox and never hear from them[1]. We hear every week about SharePoint (sync) issues. No support here and when I called 365 support about the re-sync-everything[2] bug, he just sighed and said stop-syncing-uninstall-reinstall-and start from stratch. Not much help really. [1] Unless someone fat fingers and mistakenly drag-and-drops a folder into another. We quickly can fix that. I'm surprised to hear that this isn't a support forum. I'll try and post there next week. I've: stop started OneDrive logged off on /reset multiple times rebooted Deleted credentials from credentials manager thingy. (OneDrive prompted for password thereafter.) Still the same.28KViews0likes3CommentsStuck on "Signing in"
Anyone got a solution to this? OneDrive app does nothing. Shows stuck at "Signing in" (seen when taskbar icon hovered-over)? On Settings > Account it says "You don't have an account connected. ..." Add an account fails with "You're already syncing this account" (screenshot 2) Restarting OneDrive doesn't fix it. Sometimes it feels that the new client isn't much better than the old Groove. :-( Alan28KViews0likes5CommentsOneDrive sync SharePoint bug re-syncs everything!
Has anyone seem OneDrive.exe suddenly decide to re-sync loads and loads of files in a SharePoint site? My guess it that it happens when there's lots of files in one site, so my recommendation would be is don't do sync (even with new sync client) if you have many files in SharePoint. The official limit is apparently 100,000 but this customer is only at a third of that and we've seen this happen on two machines already. (PS it wasn't me who put ~30000 files in the site! :-)) Suddenly OneDrive is resyncing ~24000 files, and downloads them slowly one-by-one. As you can imagine this make an unusable PC for the user. Changes they make aren't uploaded to SharePoint for ages, (real!) changed files from the site don't appear for ages, the CPU level is high etc. In the first case they added some new files to the sync'd folder on the PC and it started resyncing 'everything'. The second instance happened when a user returned from holiday. The site had been sync'd before she left, few files had changed on the site in the meantime, and boof re-syncing ~24000 files! The settings dialog becomes unresponsive too in this case. Stopping the sync of the affected site takes a few attempts! 365 support couldn't suggest anything other that stop sync, update, re-start sync.5.2KViews0likes3Comments
