Excell Color Formula Help

Copper Contributor

Hello!

I am trying to add some color-based formatting to an excel sheet. The goal is to have all dates be yellow until 7 days after the date I have inputted. Then I would like them to turn green.

I am running into some problems as some of the dates being inputted are for the future and I cannot seem to find a good excel formula or formatting solution to fix this!

Appreciate any help as I am new to excel!

Thanks!

Solution

@torilanzillo

Select the range in which you enter the dates.

On the Home tab of the ribbon, click Conditional Formatting > New Rule...
Select 'Format only cells that contain'.
Leave the first drop down set to 'Cell Value'.
Select 'greater than' from the second drop down.
In the box next to it, enter the formula

=0

Click Format...
Activate the Fill tab.
Select green as highlight color.
Click OK, then click OK again.

Repeat, but with

=TODAY()-8

and yellow.
