Figure Caption Numbering Issues

Copper Contributor

I can't for the life of me understand how to fix my Figure Caption Numbering. I spent a lot of time learning how to create a Heading 1 and 2 style for an appendix, you can even see at the top in my styles where i have them. But now i want the figure to be "Figure A.1 - title" but i cant do that especially with the figure number being stuck at "C" (see below).

1. How do i make the Figure number start at A and not C

2. How do i make the figure end up being Figure A.1

EDIT: I found out why its stuck at Figure C, its because i have 2 figures above in the main section of the document already so i guess its making the third figure C.

Solution

@McFlukey The A will come from the Heading numbering of the chapter if you select the appropriate Style when you access the Caption Numbering dialog by clicking on the Numbering button.
